I woke up feeling stressed and hungry! Gosh! I slept off looking over Brittany in the hospital.

My back aches badly. I brought out my phone glancing at the time . 7 freaking AM. I slept this long?

Looking at Brittany, I came down from the bed. Can't she just wake up already? This is the fourth day now and she's yet to wake up. God! Let her wake up please.

It's taking forever for her to wake up and it's getting me worried while Carl kept saying she's gonna wake up soon. When the hell is that soon?

I yawned as the door opened revealing her Mum! This woman cares so much for her.

She wouldn't just give herself a rest!

" Good morning Mum " I greeted.

" Morning son, how was your night?" She asked

" It was fine Mum but how was yours ? I believe you slept right?" I asked a little concerned.

She sighed sitting down beside Brittany's bed.

" You need to go home and dress for work son, Don't worry about me. I will be fine " she said nodding slightly.

" Okay Mum, take care and do not cry again please " I said to her and left!

" Yes, where's the file I asked you to prepare for the presentation Karen?" I asked her .

We will be having a meeting with Mr Cole in an hour.
That contract means a lot to this company.

Mr Cole isn't from Philippine here he's from Karachi in Pakistan and he happens to be among the richest men in the world!

You know what that means if I get to win this contract for Brittany. Even in her unconsciousness, she will be very happy!

" Yes Sir, I have prepared it but I just need some few minutes to go through it ensuring there's no error " she replied

" Alright then , be quick about it and inform Nate to bring the documents to me then the head of advertising department, tell her to meet me right away. The is a lot to do "

" Alright Sir " she bowed and left! There's one thing I like about her, so polite and respectful!

I love ladies who are very hard-working like I said earlier!

I sighed and got back to work! Work is not easy at all!

An hour later.......

" I would love to see Miss Brittany herself"

I crease my forehead together! Must he see her?

" Uhm,I am sorry Mr Cole but she's away at the moment and I am representative.. Sir"
I replied calmly. Anything to get this contract!

" Okay, can you give me a good reason why I should partner with your company and award this contract to you?" He asked

I cleared my throat combing through my mind to know what I will say! I can't mess up right now can I?

My eyes met with his secretary, like seriously?
She was staring lustfully at me! I bet if her mind is here with us!

" Yes Sir! There are a lot of reasons why you should award this contract to our company. To mention but a few, if you've heard about our company, it's the best in Philippine "

" We didn't came out to be the best just like that but because of our hard work"

" All the workers are dedicated, we don't joke with our work. Many contracts have been given to us since the beginning of this company and everyone came out a success"

" I am assuring you that, we will not just try our best but bring out the best Mr Cole"

" We've done this a lot of times even before we got all this talented workers, so I believe we can do this more than the previous ones"

I breathed out, I just hope this works out!
He stared at me for a while and joted down somethings

" You are quite intelligent Mr Hendrix, I am not assuring you of the contract but we will get back to you on Monday"

He said and stood up! Monday is few days from now, it seems like a year to me already.

" It was nice talking with you Mr Hendrix " he shook hands with me

" Thank you for this opportunity Sir" I replied politely!
He just have to give us the contract!

I haven't been this shocked all my life! Is this how people die just like that?

Joel is gone for real? Why? The accident was even a minor and he still died! God!

I feel so terrified right now! Is this how God decided to punish him ? Then what's my fate?

You can call me heartless and all sort of names but I don't care! The truth is that Joel's death didn't affect me a bit! Yeah! That's because I am not attracted to him anymore but Damien!

I wanted him before but not anymore

I was just using him to get what I want, using him as a tool to destroy Brittany. It was working pretty well until his death.

That's how he's wiped out of the surface of earth!

His death isn't gonna stop me from getting what I want.

Bringing down Brittany and getting Damien✓.

Those two are the things on my list! That I must do and get!

I know I am gonna die one day but before then, let me do what I wish to....

"Damien, how are you?" Mum asked as I entered into the house.

I feel so guilty for not being able to come see her all this while!
It's not my fault, I just had a lot on my plate.

" I am fine Mum, how have you been?" I asked.

" Well , I have been doing very well son. The maid your girlfriend brought is really helping us out with the chores. Look at how clean and sparkling everywhere is"

" Did you tell her you needed a maid mum?" I asked angrily

" Of course I didn't but it's a good thing though, I no longer work or do anything and you know your sister is always at school "

Did Cathy thinks I am going to accept her back after doing all this? She must be kidding!

I will never accept her back even if heaven falls from Earth.

" Yes Mum , you have to let the maid go " I said to her!

" That's not possible dam , I am enjoying her company a lot. What happened between you two?" She queried

" I don't want to talk about it, where's the maid then?" I asked

Since she doesn't want her to leave, I guess I will do it my own way!

She called the girl autumn and in no time she was here .

" Good afternoon Sir, she greeted"

" Yeah, Cathy brought you here right?"

" Yes sir "

" Listen! I don't want you to work for her anymore but for me, I will pay you twice your salary " .....

" How's she Carl?" I asked worriedly! I don't know what's going on anymore! It's confusing me.

" Calm down will you?" He said patting my shoulder!

He called me on the phone saying it's urgent with a broken voice.

How do I calm down? I had to rush from the office immediately!

I breathed out trying to make my breathe steady but it wouldn't.
Not until I hear what's actually going on!

His lips curved into a smile

" You are such a scary idiot! She's awake and I already started the treatment" ....
