Dayo's angel episode 13
‘Wait, have you found anything on Adaeze’s father? I’m still looking and we’ve seen nothing concerning this man, it’s like he never existed’ Wale drummed the table.
‘Oh, I have something, I overheard her talking to someone on phone; she told me he was a tracker she’d employed to look into her father’s case. I don’t believe her and I plan on spying on her, they’re to meet tonight at Blue Mountains lounge’ Dayo replied.
‘Wow, then we’re making progress, but there’s a little problem, we cannot be at the same place at the same time, we’ll need to split up’ Wale knew this was the best thing.
‘Okay?’ Dayo waited for more instructions. Lawyers were like detectives and it was good to listen to whatever they had to say.
‘You’ll follow her to see her tracker friend, make sure she doesn’t know you’re following her, find out what they’ll discuss and get back to me. I’ll go to the Harem myself’ Wale said.
‘Thanks for your help; I pray it works out’ Dayo was very much afraid, what if Moyo wasn’t in the Harem? That would take them back to the spot where they’d first started.
‘One more thing, keep everything we’ve discussed, everything on Moyo and your sister to yourself, we must not give room for loopholes.’ Wale pointed a finger at him.
‘Okay, I’ll do as you’ve instructed’ Dayo rushed out of the office. He was very much excited at the turn out of events, he prayed everything worked out well; he couldn’t wait to see her once again.
‘The Harem’ Wale stroked the card gently and was surprised to see the name that was written across it.
‘Ojo Larkin’ that was the name and it was the name he’d been searching for, Adaeze’s father’s name.
What was really going on? He had a feeling what he was about to discuss would open up a can of worms and it was equally dangerous, but he was prepared for it. The truth had to be revealed.
Without fear or second thoughts, he reached out for his telephone and dialled the number on the complimentary card.
She kissed his head and let him fondle her breasts, she’d become Larkin’s lover for a month now and most girls didn’t know about it. He’d shown interest in her and she didn’t resist him, she had her own plans, she was searching for this man’s weakness, something she could wield to her advantage.
She had been restless since Linda and Shantal told her about their plans, it was a good plan, but a dangerous one and she wondered if she could tell Larkin about it, if she did, she’d gain his trust, but if she didn’t, she would be saving the lives of the other girls.
‘What’s on your mind honey’? Larkin trailed his finger on her soft bum.
‘I have something to tell you, I need you to trust me more’ she licked her lips nervously.
‘Excuse me baby, wait in my study for a while, let me take this call’ Larkin rose to his feet while she quickly covered herself and left for his study.
‘Hello, Larkin on the line, who am I speaking with’? he asked.
‘Good afternoon sir, I know about the Harem, I am a business man, Sheik Abdul Azeez from Dubai and I hear your girls are very good at offering Anal services, I need to find my release tonight’ the business man explained.
‘Then you have come to the right place, but we do have rules’ Larkin paused. There was a reason, he created passkeys for most of their clients, each person had a reputation to protect and they paid heavily for it.
‘I am willing to abide by them’ the business man replied.
‘Good. I shall send my account details to you shortly, send in a million naira into it and you’d pay a million more after you’ve slept with the girl’ Larkin said. He’d expected the man to shy away or to bargain but to his amazement he accepted.
‘That wouldn’t be a problem’ the man replied.
‘Please Sheik; tell me the kind of girl you’ll like to have’ Larkin asked.
‘A slender and busty light skinned woman preferably, she has to be young, I like them young and firm’ he replied.
‘Good, then we have for ourselves a deal’ Larkin smiled greedily, Moyo fit the description the man had given, she would grace his bed.
‘Baby? You can come on in now, I’m off the phone’ Larkin called to Cindy.
‘Coming honey’ Cindy replied and slid the photograph she’d found in one of his books, ‘The Prince’ by Niccolo Machiavelli.
‘It’s time for the nuptial dance, please clap your hands as Mr and Mrs Kayode Adams step forward’ the M.C announced and the people applauded the latest couple in town.
‘How so beautiful, I want to fall in love’ Adaeze gaped as she watched them.
‘Patience, sis, you’ll find the real man’ Dayo replied. He’d returned to stand beside Kayode as his best friend, he was still not sure why Kayode accepted to marry Emem, but that wasn’t his business, Kayode was an adult and had the right to make his decisions. All what he cared for then was finding Moyo and getting to know more about Larkin Ojo, Adaeze’s father.
‘So why did you leave? You returned late, it’s a miracle you didn’t miss Kay’s wedding’ Ada relaxed and faced her brother, the man she had fallen in love with.
‘I…I went to see a patient, it was urgent’ Dayo stuttered, he had to play smart.
‘Oh? How did that go’? Ada asked, her brother was a medical practitioner and it wasn’t surprising for him to bail out on people like that. It was his duty to save lives.
‘Fine, the patient is fine’ Dayo quickly poured himself a drink.
‘Uhmm, Excuse me, I have to take this call’ Ada quickly rose to her feet, Abu was calling, but he was doing so at the wrong time.
‘Who is that’? Dayo inquired.
‘New boyfriend’ she winked and trotted away.
‘New Boyfriend eh’? Dayo smiled. He just realised how bad of a liar Adaeze was, her eyes were not steady as she mentioned her boyfriend, they danced and were unsure of themselves. He took another gulp and rose to his feet, he needed to eavesdrop, she wasn’t being honest with him.
‘Smile darling, please smile’ Emem pleaded as they danced slowly to John Legend’s all of you.
‘Smile? This isn’t how I envisioned my wedding day. I didn’t plan to get blackmailed, or forced by a woman. I planned to wear a white suit and kiss my bride till she cried out for air’ Kayode scoffed.
‘Please forgive me, I love you so much, I know I had no right to force you into this marriage, but we need you, the baby and I’ Emem said almost in tears.
‘Alright, let’s forget this and enjoy this moment’ Kayode pecked her face and she smiled. She knew he would warm up to her eventually, he couldn’t escape her love.
‘So why did you friend leave like that? Where did he go? It seems he isn’t too pleased with the wedding’ Emem changed the subject.
‘You were right about him, he doesn’t deserve my friendship, he does not care much for me like I do for him, I promise not to let him come between us anymore’ Kayode reached out and stroke her face.
‘Really’? She was amazed by his sudden change. Maybe God had answered her prayers; maybe God had touched his heart.
‘Yes, it’s a promise’ Kayode replied. It was now his turn to fight, Emem had blackmailed him and she would pay dearly for it, Dayo had betrayed him by showing interest in Moyo, he had his plans, once she was found, she’d be his forever.
