Dayo's Angel Episode 15
‘Are we not having sex? This is our wedding night’ she smiled at her husband. The wedding party was over, evening had come, guests had gone and they were left alone.
‘Your belly is too big’ Kayode kissed her forehead. As much as being with her irritated him, he had to put up the act, it was a matter of time, once Moyo was found, he’d set his plan into motion.
‘Awww, our baby is in it’ Emem rubbed his face. She was happy Kayode had changed, she felt thrilled he’d accepted his responsibility as husband and father.
‘Yes, but I could kiss you if you want me to’ Kayode winked.
‘I want you to kiss me please’ she begged and he covered her lips with his.
‘Do you love me’? He broke away suddenly and she felt uneasy.
‘Yes I love you, I love you very much, why would you ask that’? Emem wondered.
‘I want you to know I love you too, though, I have been a bitch in the past, I promise never to break your heart and never to make you cry, okay’? He caressed her face.
‘Are you for real’? She brightened and he nodded.
‘However, we must both trust each other, we must come first with each other, just like I’ve ended my friendship with Dayo for you, you must also do something for me. Love is about compromise’ he said.
‘Okay, you want me to stop being friends with Adaeze? That wouldn’t be a big deal’ Emem braced herself up for it.
‘No, I need you to return the papers you took from me, they mean a whole lot to me, that way my trust and love for you will be renewed’ Kayode requested.
‘I don’t know about that…’ she became uncomfortable. She loved Kayode no doubt, but what if he was only putting on a façade? What if he wasn’t being honest, she knew what it meant to return the papers to him, it meant that she trusted him completely, but could she?
‘Babe, if you love me, this wouldn’t be hard for you. You know deep down that I am changed, just give me the papers and I would tell you everything you need to know. I swear Emem, I could never love you less’ Kayode massaged her shoulders.
‘Okay, I’d return them, please don’t break my heart’ Emem stared at him with pleading eyes.

‘I swear on my life not to’ he raised his hands in the air.
Shantal had gathered the girls and shared the latest on ground with them; she had a strong feeling they’d be able to conquer Larkin after all.
‘You took a terrible risk, what if this doesn’t work out? What if Abu fails to meet with Adaeze? How could you do this Shantal’? Cindy was the first to air out her opinion.
‘It’s worth the risk, I knew I’d suggested we should let Abu into what we were planning, but I changed my mind after the way he’d insulted me. He deserves this’ Shantal said.
‘So what do we do next? Let’s say this plan works out and Abu is taken out by Larkin, how do we escape this place’? Linda gestured with her hands.
‘I’ll talk to him’ Moyo scanned the profile of the man she was to sleep with; Shantal had given her a receipt which showed his name and societal status.
‘Huh’? Cindy rolled her eyes.
‘This Sheik man I am to sleep with, maybe I could find a way to tell him to help us, that’s the only way out, we need someone from the outside and Shantal just ruined our plans. If you had not turned in Abu then maybe we would’ve found a way to work with him and Adaeze, those were our biggest shot, now we’re back to where we started’ Moyo paced the room nervously.
‘She’s right Shantal, you should’ve checked in with us before ratting Abu out’ Linda sighed.
‘I am sorry, I thought I was doing the right thing, so what do we do now’? Shantal was remorseful for her uncalculated action.
‘Nothing’ Cindy replied boldly and they all stared at her in shock.
‘Larkin is not a stupid man. By reporting Abu to him, you just blew your cover; he may sense something is going on. He knew you had something to gain from reporting Abu and not because you liked him, he knows this, that nobody likes him especially those of us he kidnapped and turned into sex slaves’ Cindy replied thoughtfully.
‘She is totally right, Moyo forget your plans of asking for help, that may get you killed, we are always monitored when we are with clients’ Linda advised.
‘Then there’s no way out’ Moyo’s eyes brimmed with tears. She had never slept with a man before and now she was about to lose her virginity to a man she never knew. A tear slipped down her left cheek, one filled with regret, she wished she had never run from the house.
‘Don’t worry; I’ll get us out of here even if it requires my own life’ Cindy comforted her and she meant every word. Larkin had had his time, he’d enslaved them for too long, it was time for their freedom and she would fight for that.
‘Open up, Moyo you are needed at the bar’ Ike pounded on the door.
‘I am so scared’ Moyo’s lips trembled as they came to fetch her for the Sheik.
‘Don’t be, be brave’ Linda wiped her face.
‘Okay’ she whispered weakly and stepped out of the room, while the women broke into sobs as they remembered the first time they’d been forced to sleep with men.
‘Larkin must pay’ Linda wept silently. She had received the most unjust treatment, she’d lost her name, her inheritance and an eye, for everything she lost, Larkin had to pay.
WALE: I am at the Harem, how are you holding up?
DAYO: I am in the lounge now, waiting to see if my lovely sister would show up.
WALE: Good. I pray this works out.
DAYO: How were you able to get in? how did you get a pin?
WALE: Money can do wonders. We’ll talk later, I think I have just spotted Moyo.
DAYO: Oh my God, hello? Wale?
‘Wow’ Dayo’s heart raced as he closed his phone, he’d been chatting with his lawyer, that was the agreed mode of communication.
Minutes later, his phone beeped and he fetched it, his hands shook in anxiety as she saw her beautiful face yet again, she was an angel and his heart fluttered as he stared into her eyes. Wale had sent him the photo.
‘Now it’s my turn to deliver’ he tossed the phone aside as he sighted his sister Ada. He controlled his excitement; he needed to know what she was up to.
Without waste of time, he fetched his phone and quickly dialled her number, in order to make it look convincing, he needed to call her and cook up some lies.
‘Hello Sis, where are you’? Dayo asked.
‘I…I am home’ Adaeze felt glued to the spot where she stood at the parking lot, then she quickly swept the area with her eyes to be sure no one followed her.
‘Good. There’s an emergency at the hospital, I wouldn’t be returning home tonight, don’t wait up, lock everywhere.’ Dayo instructed her carefully.
‘Okay bro, take care’ she smiled and took a deep breath, she had agreed to meet Abu at the lounge by 9.P.M, so they could find a way and get out of Larkin’s grip.
‘Bye’ Dayo turned off his phone and stepped down from the car. Her lying to him was another confirmation that she was hiding something and it made him more curious.
