*continues*
all eyes were now on me as my mother looked at me in agreement to adaoras words, "yea nna{daddy} adaora is right, we will really like to see your choice, so call her immediately and invite her over this weekend so that your sisters will get to know her" my mum said to me and i stood up in desperation cos i was no fool and i boiled with rage as i thought of the 'soap opera' which they all want to act *over my head*, cos it seemed like the one, they do watch on the television wasn't good enough for them anymore, and i bit my lips as i boiled inside and i gave adaora a hurtful look while she immediately shifted her eyes and i faced my mum once again, "mumy i don't know why you choose to believe everything adaora told you, chinwe used to be my neighbour, days back when i was in school and we were really close, but after i graduated and packed out of that hostel we hardly see other again, besides i wasnt even in owerri all these while cos i travelled to bayelsa" i said to my mum and her jaw drew when she had me mention bayelsa, but she immediately composed herself while i saw doubt for the first time in her face, and it wasnt only doubt i saw, cos her face also lit up in hope......

"Are you sure of what you are telling me?" she asked me and i nodded my head immediately in desperation "yea i replied" and adaora also looked on in confusion and it seemed like she was doubtful as well, "i am a very truthful person and i dont like taking sides with anyone, cos i dont want to dirty my conscience, since you are sure that you are telling me the truth, i have no other way to find out unless i call chinwe by myself cos no girl will ever turn down the request of her boyfriend's mother, and so if she declines to come i will then know that you might be right, cos i don't want to do anything which will spoil the relationship adaoras family and ours has built over the years so i will stand by the truth" she said to me and i felt that moment like a thief who was caught in the act, "adaora you said you have chinwes number? Give me the number let me call her" she also said to adaora, who rose up instantly and handed her her phone while i fell back on the couch once more......

To be continued.......
