Couple of tears were dripping down my cheeks ceaselessly and I was subjected to bewilderment because my husband have not laid his hands on me before.
"What have this innocent child done?" I asked myself thoughtlessly.
As I was wailing,I heard some knocks at the door and behold,it was my sister in-law Ezinne.
"Welcome sister" I said as I cleaned off the tears on my eyes with the back of my left hand.
She looked at me with contempt and sighed scornfully as though my husband have told her everything.
My heart was in my mouth because Ezinne have never behaved in such manner since I got married to her brother.
Ezinne walked away from my view to our room and I stood up from the floor and sat on the sofa because my baby was crying.
After some minutes,Ben and his sister came out from the room espying at me disdainfully.
My eyes were buried in my hands as they bursted into laughter and went out.
Words failed me and I did not know what to do.
Forthwith,I descried my phone and a thought ran through my mind. "Mama should start coming, she might be the remedy to this circumstance" I said as I took my phone and called my mother.
We had a long colloquial and she promised to come the next day.
"Thank you Mama" I muttered and grinned ear to ear because My mother was very courageous and brave.
She would warn Ben strictly not to act like a feathery brain.
My mother in-law had long di.ed and I was sure she would also be against me.
After some hours,Ben and Ezinne returned–they came back very late in the night.
Before they came back,I was very famished and there wasn't any food.
"Ezinne, please go and make something for me to eat" I pleaded as she turned on the television.
She did not drool a saliva at me as she sat on the long sofa enjoying the entertaining program.
"Ezinne am talking to you" I muttered as though I was up in the arms.
"Why are you peturbing me this whóre? Shameless Golddígger" she retorted.
I was fit to the tied as I stood up and gave her a resetting slap – I am older than her,even my younger sister is.
Ezinne started shouting like an animal that saw a n angry lion coming after it.
Ben ran out immediately "You won't allow us to rest because of this thing you birthed today" Ben said with a voice like a blast of thunder. "Ezinne why are you crying?" He added.
"Your so called wife slapped me" Ezinne replied.
"What?" Ben roared as though he jumped down his throat.
Instantly,he loosed his belt and started flógging
me so hard. My face was like wet week-end and blood was gushing out from my nose.
