Ifeanyi was preparing to go to the shop that morning when Veronica accosted him.
"Ifeanyi where is your Twin sister?"

"Mama I don't know"He said and made to leave but Vero blocked him

"Where is Ifeomachukwu??"She asked

"Oh Chim o.. How would I know? Go and check her room nau, she might probably still be asleep"

"If I hadn't checked her room, I wouldn't come here to ask you. I have checked and I discovered her things are no longer in her room. I strongly suspect that she has ran away with that good for nothing Jonathan"Vero said angrily

"So why are you accosting me since you already know where she is?"

"I know she told you before she left. I'm not angry she left, am just disappointed that she ran away with someone as poor as Jonathan. Can that boy feed himself? Talk more of feeding her.. I'm even more disappointed in you for not advising her against it!"Vero snapped at Ifeanyi who just stood there watching her.
There was silence.
"Won't you say anything?"Vero growled

"Mama I have nothing to say.. Leave the way let me pass biko. I'm running late for my business" Ifeanyi said and squeezed his way out of the house.

Leaving the house, he passed by Kamsi's place. In front of the house, he met Nkiru washing clothes.

"Mama good morning"He greeted

Nkiru looked up and hissed "Morning nkegi (Morning your own)"

"Uhm.. Mama please what about Kamsi?"He asked observing that the woman wasn't happy seeing him

"I don't know"
She continued washing her clothes.

"Erm.. Is she inside?"He said scratching his head

Nkiru stood up angrily. "Bia Nwoke m.. Stop asking me useless questions o.. And I'll warn you now to stop coming here to look for Kamsi. Your mother doesn't like her so I don't know why you would be dragging her into a relationship that won't end up in marriage!"

"Mama, please calm down.. It hasn't gotten to that"

"Gi sim calm down now eh, I'll just use pestle gbawa gi ishi (I'll use pestle to break your head)..Leave Kamsi alone to focus and concentrate on marrying the rich man that's coming for her. You have nothing to offer so biko hapu ya aka!"Nkiru said and sat down to continue washing.

Ifeanyi stood there for a while thinking. He was so confused and lost in thoughts. He hoped it wasn't true that a rich man was coming for his Kamsi.

"You don't want to leave?"Nkiru's voice jerked him back to reality.
He slowly walked out of the compound.

Kamsi was coming back from the Market with her brother Udoka when Felix who was trailing them with his car eventually stopped and came down.

"Kamsi baby, can I talk to you for a while?"He asked following her from behind
Kamsi pretended not to hear him.

"Kamsi, he's talking to you"Udoka tucked her

"That is eh, nga ama gi ezigbote ishi okpo! (I will give you a very serious knock)"Kamsi said to her brother aggressively.

"Kamsi please wait.."Felix dragged her by the hand

"Wait.. Did you just touch me?"Kamsi asked turning to face him

"I'm sorry.. But I really need to talk to you.. Why do you hate me even when you don't know me? Why? Why can't you just give me a chance to treat you well and show you to the world.. I'll spoil you with money and make you the envy of your mates.."

Udoka was smiling sheepishly while Kamsi was looking at him in disgust.

"Are you done talking? Because if you are.. I want to leave.."She said and made to leave but Felix dragged her back..

Ifeanyi who was dejectedly coming from Kamsi's house saw this and ran to the scene and without asking questions, he started landing Felix hot blows. Felix tried retaliating but he was no match for Ifeanyi.
Kamsi was jumping up and down screaming for help and Udoka was trying to separate the two.
Finally, some boys came and separated them. Felix was badly wounded and bleeding and Ifeanyi only sustained a minor injury on his forehead.

"Next time, you will learn to stay away from other people's properties!!"Ifeanyi screamed as a guy was holding him.

"Shit.. Bullshit..damn!!"Felix yelled as he looked at the injuries he sustained.

"Veronica! Veronica bia here ozugbo ozugbo!!"Nkiru shouted as she entered the compound

"Who is that idiot shouting my name like a mad dog?"Vero said as she came out.

"It is your mother that is a mad dog. Veronica I have come to warn you so you too can warn your son to stay away from my Daughter and her would-be husband.."Nkiru said

Vero laughed mockingly "I should be the one telling you to warn your daughter to stay away from my son. She keeps coming here to give him her sugar waist.. Is it by force? I have warned her to stay away but she has sold her ears to the dogs, maybe until I pour hot water on her face before she understands me"

"You dare not harm my daughter Veronica! you dare not, better warn your son to leave my daughter and her Fiancé alone. can you imagine that pig of your son beating my daughter's Fiancé till he was admitted in the hospital? what sort of mad man did you train eh??"Nkiru screamed

"It is you, your sons, your daughter, your late husband and all your generation to come that are mad!!"Vero screamed as she held Nkiru by her wrapper and dragged her down.

"Ewo! chim oh!!"Nkiru screamed as Vero bite her hard on her left arm

"I want to show you how mad people behave"Vero said and bite her again harder this time as Nkiru struggled to be free from her grip.

"Mama!! mama what are you doing??"Ifeanyi screamed rushing towards them. He was just coming back..
But before he could separate them, Vero had bitten Nkiru till her flesh fell off.

Kamsi angrily walked into the shop and met Ifeanyi eating.
"I knew your mother is wicked but I never knew she is also heartless and stupid!"

Ifeanyi stood up "Why are you calling my mother names?!"

"Did you see how your mother bite my mum till her flesh fell off? What type of a human being is she? are you sure she's not a witch that eats human flesh?"Kamsi screamed

"I won't have you insult my mother in my presence. Yes I accept she was wrong for biting your mother but for God's sake why did you mother have to leave her house and come to our own house to make trouble when she knows she's not capable of fighting?"

"Eh eh.. Is that what you're saying?"Kamsi asked

"Yes of course! what else should I say? I personally took your mother to the chemist and paid for her treatment. I apologized on behalf of my mother's behaviour so you have no right to come here and insult my mother before me!!"Ifeanyi said angrily

"Ifeanyi, I've always known you're an idiot"Kamsi said shaking her head

"And you too.. you're so mannerless, better work on yourself"He said and sat down and continued his eating.

Kamsi stood there and watched him then suddenly busted into tears and ran out of the shop.
Ifeanyi stopped eating "Why did I even talk to her that way?"He asked himself

"Kamsi!! Uto'm wait..!!"He called as he ran after her.
