Chapter 5~

About a week after we had returned from the hotel to our home,I was in charge of the domestic chores in the house,I had taking one month leave of work,the company I was working with had granted me,for I have never taking even the three weeks leave entitled to me every year,I had never seen the need, untill my wedding,and when I requested for a month,it was granted without stress..

I was in charge of the cooking , Cleaning and everything there is to do,Miss Beautiful won't even make attempt of getting up,I actually felt she was been an iyawo,who still wanted her husband's love and care,,it was the last week of my leave,about a month after marriage,I had thought she'd understand,and know oh I should also rest before I resume duties at work the next week,but that was not her concern,she could chart on her phone for hours , forgetting she has a husband, and when she becomes tired of chatting, she'd start complaining she's hungry,and it will still fall on me to fix something from us.i didn't complain I felt she wanted me to do the chores untill I resumed..

Finally my one month leave was over,it was the morning of my first day at work after being a married man,like every other woman,I had thought Beauty would have woken up to fix anything for me for breakfast,no matter how little,even if it was a cup of tea.i woke up at 6am,had my bath, put on my clothes,I was all well dressed for work,but no breakfast on sight,and my wife was still on the bed spreading her legs.i had to wake her up...

Honey , goodmorning,how was your night,I asked,,she nodded her head In positive as her response.honey,I am off for work,no breakfast fro me, I asked smiling,just so I don't sound or appear authoritative.ohhhh naaaaaa, baby,don't tell me you woke me up just to fix breakfast for you,come on, there's provision and bread on the dinning table,fix yourself a cup of tea,I looked at her,not knowing what to say exactly,she was right any ways,I thought within,I should be able to fix my own breakfast , especially since it's something as simple as a cup of tea.i had my meal and off I went to work,not even a hug or kiss from my wife.i thought that's what love and being married is,even though I haven't been married before,at least I had seen it in movies,I encouraged myself,maybe perpharps marriage isn't as beautiful as it is seems in movies,but I was determined to make us as sweet as in the movies,I went to the bedroom and kissed her by the check, whispering have a good day in her ears,we had everything at home,even frozen chickens and beafs, everything she needed to make a good meal was available at her finger , nevertheless I dropped #5000 should she need anything...

Getting to the office, I was warmly and gladly welcomed, married man became my new name,my colleagues were very happy to have me back.At the close of the day,I was about going home when my boss,the CEO of the company gave me a wonderful gift , something I never expected nor saw coming,it was a well wrapped industrial fan,I was overjoyed,and thanked him...

Getting home,I happily dropped the fan from the back seat of my car and took it inside,getting to the house, everywhere and everything seems to be thesame,I wondered if my wife had swept at all,she was relaxing on the sofa enjoying a television series when I entered,welcome honey,she greeted,you bought a new fan,she asked,oh no it was a gift from the office,I replied...so as big as that company of yours,it's just a standing fan they could gift you,I was suprised,but I just ingnored her speech...

Honey,did you sweep this house today at all, everything seems thesame way I left it,I said,well I didn't, I was tired,I didn't feel like sweeping.she said.

You didn't feel like sweeping,come on,even if you couldn't sweep the whole house,you should have done something about the sitting room,what if I was coming with a visitor?,I had asked...

Well a good husband, wouldn't just bring a visitor home, without calling to inform his wife,she said.i didn't want us to have a fight,I just kept quiet and went inside to undress.

I soon came out in a casual wear,after I had bath and sat in the dinning table,but my wife continued watching whatever it was she was watching,haven sat for say 5minutes and she didn't mind me,I had to call her attention, honey what's for dinner,I a very hungry,I said.ah,I thought you were going to buy something for us when coming,I am hungry too,I need a good food,I have only had tea and cornflakes since for breakfast and lunch,I was waiting for you to get something nice for dinner,she said.

oh heaven's I was lossing it,wait Beauty,if I understand you,you are telling me that there isn't anything for dinner in this house,what exactly have you been doing since morning that made you not fix anything,even as simple as spaghetti,what kind of a woman are you,I didn't have breakfast this morning,and you are giving me this sermon for dinner,I said.

i said I was tired,can't I be tired,,I am your wife not your maid,she replied angrily..

I just took my car keys and drove out I didn't want to get more provoked.

As I drove to a nearby fast food,I thought about my life,and concluded I may have rushed things, perpharps I should have get to know more of Beauty before taking her to the alter,when it comes to marriage, Beauty and love is NEVER enough.

i had arrived the fast-food and ordered for something to eat,when I was done,I was about going home without getting something for her,but my concience didn't allow me,I had gotten to my car,but had to go back to get something for Beauty,I couldn't bear seeing her go to bed on an empty stomach,one thing was certain,I didn't like this lazy attitude of hers and I wasn't going to take it...

Days on it was weekend,and I had planned to have a long rest in bed,but at about 5am,there was this loud knock at the gate that could even wake the dead,I immediately woke up,same did my wife,who could that be,I checked the clock,it was some minutes past 5,who could that be,we both wondered...
