We parked in front of my house and we came down together.

Me; Thanks for the ride guys, and Tobe, thanks for the stuffs, i've not seen them but i know what you can always do. Thank you very much.

i smiled sheepishly, clutching my handbag and the gift bag in my hand, that was when i saw her step out from Harry's door. She was dressed in a white flowing gown and her steps were angry. Harry lives in the next house after mine and the estate only used flowers as gates. I saw her clearly and started signalling to Tobe and Harry but they were busy smiling and backing the angry woman who was coming in full speed and obvious anger.

Claire; and who's this?

Harry and Tobe turned to her and i braced myself for what was to come.

Claire; baby, how can you leave just like that? no calls, no text messages, you were not even returning my calls. Then your PA told me you were here, i came and then you are........

She used that time to look at me and she froze. Every one of them turned their eyes to my direction and i gave them a reassuring smile;

She ignored me and faced her husband;

Claire;baby? what's this? so you're here with her? you spent the night, outside Harry's home with this girl?

Tobe; i'll pretend that i didn't hear that.

I shook my head and walked to my door, pressing the door bell and wondering why God gave some people little brains? Tobe should know that these days, with the government ever ready to vent their anger on criminals, Claire can easily be arrested for her threats. Again, he should just file for a divorce and report to the authorities his reason for the divorce. Lois opened the door and peered into my face, then began to look straight behind me;

Lois; Is that not Claire?

Me; exactly why i'm still outside.

Lois; she followed you guys or what?

I went in and told her how everything had happened and i had to listen to her, shouting at me for not putting the fool in her right place.

Me; what would i have done? i was respecting Tobe and my self. you don't expect me to make a fool out of myself in this estate. i've made worse mistakes before and i don't want to be caught in a web that will be difficult for me to untangle from. If she were inside here, i would have dealt with her without batting an eyelid but no, we were outside and i have my prestige and honor to protect here.

Lois; right! madam prestige and honor. you don't know, those people you don't want to see you as a trouble maker will still be the people to call you a weakling. Anyways, let Claire not cause a rift between us. i made lunch already so why not freshen up and come down, i'll make the table.

Lois; she left immediately we came back. said she'll see us by evening.

i nodded and climbed the stairs, heading to my room, and then she shouted,

Her laughter filled the sitting room and i quickly ran up to my room. i took time to shower and dress in a shirt gown that stopped in my mid thigh, the intention was to look hot, now that Claire was around, i knew the competition to showcase who was successful would be on the high. i applied a little make up, of course i was going to take selfies later in the day ;)
I went downstairs and Lois was on a call which she ended shortly.

Lois; my top model will be getting married in a week, i showcased the vacancy and i've being getting countless calls, emails and text messages from this white kids.

Me; you don't like white?

Lois; did i say that? i prefer working with my fellow black people, they have a kind of understanding that i cherish and they won't give me reasons to regret employing them. and, you look hot.

i smiled and thanked her, telling her the reason for my choice of clothes.

Lois; to the table babe. Amber is gonna miss out on this one.

We went to the table and began to eat a beautiful, home made egusi soup and semolina, Lois was a good cook and i always looked forward to her meals. The soup had different chunks of meat and trust my likeness for meat, i combined the two together.
