THE BILLIONAIRE'S WIFE 5

Chief was putting on fetish clothes and he carried a calabash filled with cowries. The look on his face was strange as if he was in a hypnotic trance. He didn’t even noticed Ada as he walked slowly out of the room chanting some incantations.

Ada was horrified by what she saw but she managed to hold back the scream that threatened to come out of her mouth. She rushed back to her room shivering with fright.

Once in her room, Ada’s thought went riot as she thought of what she saw. Definitely, chief was up to something evil. He might even belong to a very powerful cult as she had heard before. She became very scared. What had she really gotten herself into? Who was this man that she had married? What was he up to and what was in that room that he didn’t want anybody to see?

She was still deep in thought when she heard him come towards their room, she quickly climbed into bed and pretended that she was sleeping. Some minutes later, she heard him entered the room and climbed into bed besides her. She was scared but dared not show it. She felt his hands on her body as he tried to make love to her; she became more scared.

He was no longer wearing the fetish garb she saw on him earlier on. She felt a deep sense of revulsion as his hands moved all around her body. She tried to refuse him and she told him that she was having pains in her stomach. He ignored her plea as he tried to have his way with her.

Ada continued to plead with him but he ignored her plea as he forced his way on her. She tried to fight him but she was no match for chief. It was as if a mill demons possessed him as he forcefully have his way with her. This was the first time chief was hurting her and Ada cried bitterly.

Ada became scared, she was scared because she didn’t know what fate awaits her in chief’s house. With what she witnessed some minutes ago, she was no longer safe in the house.

Immediately after the act, chief drift to sleep and left Ada crying. She cried, she was heartbroken and scared of the unknown. She spent a sleepless night brooding over the issue. Was chief a ritual killer as some people claimed? What fate awaits her in chief’s house? What did chief really wanted from her by marrying her? Her night was spent in torment thinking about her predicament.

In the morning, chief woke up and pretended that nothing happened. He was sweet and extremely nice to her. She marveld at his deception and how foolishly she has fallen for it. She didn't feel like going to her business place or to anywhere. She was devastated and tried her best to hide it from her husband.

She complained of stomach ache and stayed back at home. Several minutes after chief had left for the office; Ada left the bed and went into action. She put off all the CCT cameras in the house and searched for the key to the locked room but it was nowhere to be found. She was greatly troubled as she thought of what to do.

When chief came back later in the day, Ada pretended to be sick and chief fussed over her. He wanted the family doctor to come over and examined her but she told him that it was just stress that all she needed was rest. Chief ensured that she took enough rest and that she was not disturbed.

Despite how chief fussed over her and showed her love, Ada was not comfortable with him anymore. He repulsed her and she wanted to be far away from him. Whenever she remembered what she saw that night, she shuddered with fright. Chief was not what he claimed to be and she was scared of him and everything he represent .

Ada pretended to chief that all is well but she was worried and afraid of him. Afterwards she monitored his movement every night in the house and she got to know lots of things about chief. He always go to the locked room twice a week. On the days he goes to the room, he makes her drink a glass of wine with him. She got to know that he lazed her drink with sleeping pills that made her sleep and is unconscious of what was happening around her.

As Ada monitored chief, she pretended that she took the drink but she disposed of it in the toilet. This continue for weeks as she work towards unraveling the mystery about the mysterious room.

His routine was that he lazed her drink with sleeping pills, when she has doze off, he changes into his fetish clothes and goes into the lock room. He comes out later with a calabash filled with cowries, chanting incantations. After going around making incantations, he comes back to their bedroom and try to make love with her. No matter how she tried to resist him, he use to overpower her and have his way with her at the end. Ada vowed to unravel the mystery surrounding the room and the calabash and everything about Chief .

She finally laid her hands on the key to the lock room and she went to make a duplicate of the key. Some weeks after Ada caught her husband with the evil calabash; she opened the door to the lock room and went inside. What Ada saw in the room shocked her to the bones. She didn’t know what she expected but certainly not what she saw.

They were lot of ladies in the room naked as the day they were born. They were all keeling down before a Hugh carved statue and carrying a calabash on their heads. Each of their calabashes was filled with blood. The floor of the room was littered with money, lots of money in different denomination.

What shocked Ada most was the image of herself in the room. She saw a carved image of herself. She was dressed exactly like she dressed the first day chief made love to her. On her head was the same calabash she usually saw chief carrying. The calabash was filled with cowries and not blood like the others. Ada had goose pimples as she heard someone behind her scream. She turned and confronted one of her maids. There was a look of shocked horror on the girl’s face.

“I know everyone of them, I know them o,” the maid said in shock as she pointed at the ladies.

“Do you know that chief kept them here?” Ada said almost in a whisper. She was too shocked to speak aloud.

“No madam, me I no know anything o. I just know the ladies because them be chief’s girlfriends before and them dey come here.” She was still looking at the ladies in shock as she tried to explained to her madam..

“Chief is a ritualist, I am finished,” Ada muttered to herself in horror.

“Madam, within you go come do now. He be like say you dey among the ladies chief use.” The maid looked at her with pity

Ada looked at the maid lost for words. The reality was facing her in the face. Chief was a ritualist and had used lots of women for money ritual. She was not exempted because her image was among the ones in the room. Only God knows what would become of her? Ada looked at the maid in horror. Her greed for money had brought her to her doom. With what she just saw, she knew she was doomed to die like the rest. What would become of her now? She was very confuse and didn’t know what to do

An idea suddenly came to her. “I have to inform the police and the public, I can’t just keep quiet. My life is at stake here.” Ada looked at the maid in dismay.

"Madam, you better think of your safety. Oga na the paddy of all the policemen for town. You no fit go free like that. Leave police for this matter, think another thing.". She advised.

"What do i do? The police is the only people that can help me now."

At that moment, they heard the gate opening , the sound of a car coming into the compound. Chief called out to her, he seems to be angry as he barks her name.

Ada looked at the maid in horror.

"Madam, he be like say Oga don come o. Within you go do?". The maid was also horrified.

Asa was confused and didn't know what to do. Chief was repeatedly calling out her name angrily as he made for the house . He seens to be angry and all was not well.

"Madam, he be like say oga dey vex, within you do am? The maid looked at her in fright.

Ada put her hands on her head. From all indication she was doomed.
