Episode 27

The following week,

She surprised me again with her visit, when she knocked on my door friday evening......

She was looking very bright and lovely that fateful evening, while the make-up on her face, gave her a completely different but attractive look, which made me breathe deeply as i stared at her.....

I was alone that particular evening, cos Emeka travelled to Aba earlier in the day, while i planned on travelling home the next morning, but as i saw Rosy that evening i knew that a change of plan was imminent.....

We hugged each other happily, before she entered our room,
"you are looking very sweet" i said to her, while she smiled.....

"i have something to tell you" she seriously said to me after dinner, while i stared at her with a smile,
"what is it?" i asked, but she only heaved a heavy sigh, looked down and kept quiet,
"what is it nah?" i asked her again, as i raised her jaw upwards with my fingers,....

"i don't know how you will take this news, but i have no choice, than to tell you" she said to me, while i swallowed hard as i stared at her....

"i think the baby did not go away, cos i still feel something in me, moreover i went for another test yesterday, and it came out positive" she said innocently, while my mood changed....

"where is the test result" i asked,
"i destroyed it immediately, cos i don't want my nosy roomate to know" she said to me, while i smiled coldly as i looked at her with anger, cos my mind told me she was lying, moreover i knew Emeka might have even told her roomate Lovelyn, about the whole thing......

"seriously dear, i do not know what went wrong, cos i bleeded very well when i took those pills you gave me last week" she equally added for good measures......

"so what do you plan on doing?" i asked, while she looked down and said nothing,
"please tell me if there is any good plan you have, cos i'm tired of this pregnancy" i said to her, as i got up in confusion......

I left the room for her and went outside, where i sat on a pavement, while my thoughts kept me company as i reasoned deeply. I tried calling Emeka, but his phone was switched off, which made me to hiss bitterly.....

"don't worry dear, i think i have a plan" i heard Rosy say, as she joined me on the pavement,
"i know of a hospital that does D&C in okigwe, but they do charge fifteen thousand naira for it" she said to me, while i heaved a heavy sigh, cos i don't joke with anything concerning money.....

"One thing about being constantly broke or poor, is that it opens your mind for fast thinking, and makes you more careful on how you spend your limited resources".....

Moreover i planned on travelling home the following day because i was very broke, with eight hundred naira as my 'last card'.....

"i'm broke i think you should keep the baby, when i graduate, i will come and claim him or her", i said to her coldly as i got up and entered my room, while she angrily followed me....

"you have a very bad mouth, just hear yourself, i just regret sleeping with you" she rattled on and on as she cursed me,
"please stop it" i begged, but instead of stopping she intensified,
"broke boy who can't hold himself, always want sex but can't take responsibility" she said, cursed and insulted me.. And So I had no choice, but to land two powerful slaps on her face, which sent her diving on the floor, and i felt like kicking her stomach that moment, but i held myself....

Seriously i knew not what stopped me that night from kicking her stomach, cos it was very much unlike me, to be merciful when provoked.....
