Episode 70

Emeka listened patiently, with both hands on his jaw as i told him my story, and all he did was just to shake his head, while i narrated my exam day adventures to him,
"hmmm my guy i must confess you are really lucky oo, supposing you weren't vigilant enough to notice when he was dragged out of that hall, my guy you for don lose everything, cos na missing result you go see for your name and i swear he won't even tell you what happened" He said when i finished my story, while i gave him a blank look,
"just thank your stars bro, seriously i never bought that idea of hiring a mercenary for once" he added while i breathed deeply,
"but i'm still frightened oo" i finally said to him while he smiled,
"if it's about the security man, forget it, he dosen't have any evidence, he just wanted to chop you" he explained, while i looked down, with anxiety,
"so how do you plan to collect your money?" he asked, and i swallowed hard, cos Micheal wasn't really the type of guy, who i could easily threaten, moreover our deal wasn't legitimate, and i really knew not how to go about it, cos i already knew he won't easily return my money............

"his phone number hasn't been going through since morning and i have no idea how to go about it" i replied,
"don't worry we will get your money back" Emeka assured me while i shruggled............

Three days later, Micheal's number went through and when he answered the phone call, his voice told me he already knew why i was calling,
"guy how far about the dough{money} nah" i asked, after the usual pleasantries,
"guy forget about the money oo, i have used it in clearing my name" he replied after few seconds of silence, while i stared at Emeka who immediately took my handset from me and switched it to handsfree,
"guy how can we see?" i finally asked,
"is it today?" he asked me,
"yea" i replied
"if you are coming because of the money forget it, i live at "4 in 1 hostel" bishop's court, you can come if you wish" he said to me, while Emeka shouted at him,
"guy better run around and produce that money before we get there or else" he threatened........

There was a brief silence from Micheal's end of the line and my heart pounded fast as we waited for him to say something
"hahahaha frank who is that idiot trying to threaten?" he asked me, but before i could reply, Emeka shouted at him again,
"who are you calling idiot, infact we are coming to your hostel right away thief" He cursed him, while i desperately pleaded to Emeka with my eyes to calm down, cos exchanging bad words won't really get us anywhere........

"i know that it's that your white goat friend that is talking under the influence of palmwine, tell him that kegite is not a cult, he should first get a matric number, after which he will enter bush with real guys, he can then threaten me when he comes out alive hahahahaha, idiot jambites, anyway i'm in my hostel, you guys can come i'm waiting" he said and ended the phone-call, while i saw real anger in Emeka's eyes...........

"guy prepare lets go to his hostel" he said to me, as he stood to dress up, while my heart jumped as i heard him, cos it really sounded like a foolish thing to do, moreover a good fighter is a person who knows when to back down from a fight in order to remain undefeated......

But then i had no choice but to prepare with a weeping heart, in order not to appear weak and be tagged, a foolish coward by Emeka..........
