The Mustard Seed episode 7

That day ended on a good note and marked the beginning of something beautiful. It wasn't going to be easy for Faith to become the once zealous and firebrand lady for God she used to be, but a tiny drop of water eventually makes up an ocean. The good thing is that she wasn't going to do it alone because David was there to guide her all through the way.

The next day, David sent Faith few audio tapes on healing and also on prayer and fasting. The tapes were gospel messages from a minister that functioned very well in the ministry of healing the sick. David gave her a deadline to listen to the tapes and give her remark afterwards. In just a space of one week, Faith had listened to four tapes on healing. Every morning, David sent positive affirmations to her and gave her action plans to carry out during the day. He sent meditational tones, sounds and messages to her as well, so as to calm her nerves and make her more in control of her emotions. She wasn't feeling the impact at first but with time, she began to see the results of every drilling David was subjecting her to.

Before a month elapsed, Faith had soaked herself so deep in those healing tapes to the extent that she could even finish the sentences of the ministers. She became a walking power and a beaming light reflecting God's glory. At that time, she still hadn't resumed going to church because she didn't know how to face her brethrens and explain why she went MIA (missing in action) on them for a very long time.

David figured that Faith was having a hard time with the decision of going back to her former church so he suggested that she comes with him to his own church, since no one might recognize her there and possibly judge her. The suggestion seemed like a good one to Faith so she didn't hesitate to go for it.

This new development made David a lot happier than before because he knew his influence over Faith would be more effective now that she had decided to become a member of the local assembly he worshipped in. The fact that she even accepted his offer showed that she had come a long way in her healing and was headed towards total redemption from her past. Despite the fact that Faith's scars were still fresh and evident, she didn't want it to define her anymore. Life somehow looked promising for the once devastated young lady whose life was headed for a ditch. Faith wasn't the happiest woman on earth but she was now in a good place; far much better than where she used to be.

Fortunately, Sundays became a day to look forward to for Faith. She loved the way the ministers in David's church preached the word of God in it's simplest form. They broke things down in such a way that she understood the word of God like never before. David always sat close to her to give any assistance she needed during service. It was always a good time well spent in the presence of God and this made her want more even after service had ended.

One fateful day as they headed home from Sunday service, David engaged Faith in a discussion about what was taught in church that Sunday. "How was service today?" He happily asked, "It was awesome, I had a good time and was blessed by the sermon" she replied with a smile on her face. David was relieved by her response and probed further. "Do you now believe that God can do anything?" He asked, "absolutely" she replied and looked towards his direction, in anticipation of what he would say next. David paused for while and dropped a shocker; "Do you believe God can change your HIV status from Positive to Negative?" He outrightly asked and she was mute.

At that moment, there were over a thousand thoughts in Faith's mind. She was hesitant in replying because she knew there was no scientific cure for HIV yet. Despite the fact that she had listen to dozens of healing tapes and read books that centered on healing, she was still in doubt that God could perform such miracle in her own life. It seemed easy to believe what she read in a book or listened to, but it was hard for her to envision it in her own life. It's safe to say that Faith had 'zero faith' that God could heal her from the deadly virus. After thinking of the perfect answer to David's question, she finally broke the silence.

"I know God is capable of healing me but I don't think it would ever happen" Faith sadly revealed. "Why do you think so?" David curiously inquired, "Because I find it hard to believe that God have time for me when there are other people that are worth his time and healing. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't believe in God's ability to heal the sick, I just find it hard to believe that I am that special for God to have my time. Besides, if God wanted those in my condition to get better, then he probably would have given doctors and scientist the knowledge to find a cure for HIV. Why allow so many people get the virus and heal only few later? What then happens to others infected with the virus? Won't they receive their healings too?. I know what I am saying might not make much sense to you but it does to me. There's just too many water under the bridge for me to ever believe that God loves me so much to allow something of this magnitude happen to me and then heal me after. Why allow me to contact the virus only to heal me later? There are just too many questions that I need answers to, otherwise, my faith in God for a healing might never be enough to trigger a miracle from him" Faith bluntly said. Immediately she voiced her last word, David froze and was utterly speechless.
