NDI MMIRI LAND

Ogoli had narrated everything on how she was appointed to ascend the Throne and take care of the Land by Ajonwa who disappeared to Umuozara and hadn't even come back for once to check on how her people are faring.

"Am not surprised at her show of stupidity and negligence towards her people. The same people whom she had swore to protect and guide are the same people she left for a stupid and unimportant revenge mission. Am not surprised at all.. Ajonwa had always being a selfish fellow..selfish and wicked, putting herself first before the people"Ulumma lamented.

"But where have u been all these while? After the death of the Queen, the majority of the people wanted you to ascend the throne but you were nowhere to be found and that automatically made Ajonwa the next person to be chosen. We all know how she is and we never liked her. She said you ran away after you sided with the Umuozara people to kill the Queen and although no one believed her because we knew you couldn't do it, but no one could question her too.. And shortly afterwards, she said she was leaving for some revenge mission and handed the Throne over to Ogoli here.."Anyanwu explained.

Ulumma shook her head in pity and disappointment.
"So what is the plan now?"

Ogoli and Anyanwu exchanged puzzled glances.

"I know you want to take over the Throne and.."Ulumma was saying before Ogoli interrupted her

"No my Princess.. Well.. Actually that was our plan.. But now that you are back, I willingly hand over the throne to you.."

"Yes my Princess.."Anyanwu concurred

"Am not angry.. Neither am I here to drag the throne. As a matter of fact, am here for something entirely different. I don't want the throne at all and am fully in support of you taking over the throne because Ajonwa needs to be taught a bitter lesson"

Ogoli and Anyanwu looked at Ulumma in shock

"Do you mean..??"Ogoli couldn't complete it

Ulumma understood and nodded in acceptance
"Yes I mean it.. But I need something from you"

"What is it Princess?"Ogoli asked

"I need the staff of authority.. The one Ajonwa gave you"

Ogoli and Anyanwu looked at themselves in confusion
"But Princess, that is the symbol of authority.. If I give it to you, it means I have no right to the Throne and you said you support me..so??"Ogoli said confused

"I understand.. But you know you cannot defeat Ajonwa like that..She possesses powers and she wouldn't hesitate to destroy you if she comes here and see you have overtaken her.."She paused to allow that sink into their brain. Then she continued..
"I have something that can destroy Ajonwa immediately she touches it.."

"What is that?"They both asked curiously

Ulumma searched her bag and brought out a staff which looked exactly like the staff of Authority of Ajonwa.
"This is the staff of agbala. It kills evil at once.. Any evil person that touches it is destroyed whether human or spirit.."

Ogoli and Anyanwu nodded smiling
"So what is the plan?"Anyanwu asked with keen interest

"Ogoli, you will take this staff in exchange for the real staff of authority.. Ajonwa will definitely be back to claim the throne and she would pull up a fight to take back her staff of authority from you. Your own is to make her touch the staff by giving it to her and you know what will happen next.."

The duo smiled happily. They were happy with the plan.

NDULUE'S COMPOUND

Uju had gone to her Father's place to visit them because since she got married to Ndulue for close to two months now, she hadn't visited them.
Adaugo and Omasili were relatively happy because Uju had been a thorn to their flesh.. She beats them up and shows them their place. The two women became extremely quiet in the compound because Uju had the backings of both mama nnukwu and their husband so when she packed a few things to stay at her Father's place for 3 days that morning, they became overjoyed.
They peeped through their Hut as they watched her leave.

"Freedom at last"Adaugo screamed happily immediately Uju left

Ekemma came out and eyed her angrily
"You won't go and sit your ass down now.. Don't worry, just 3 days and she'll be back.."

"Mama Nnukwu biko kwa.. I wasn't talking to you so just leave me alone. I am still very angry at you and Nnanyi for conspiring together to bring that Agu(Lion) here to torment and kill I and Omasili"

"Ehehn biko.. Don't mention my name in any of your stupid rants.. Point of correction, she beats and torments you..not me!"Omasili said coming out of her Hut.

"Negodu this one.. "Adaugo laughed clapping her hands in mockery "You that she beat up and gave akpu onu(swollen mouth).. You still have the mouth to talk simply because she has left"Adaugo laughed

"At least I was given akpu onu.. She broke your arms and legs and you literally became a paralyzed goat"Omasili said laughing loudly

"Paralyzed the way your Father's senses has been paralyzed okwaya?"Adaugo replied in anger

The mention of her Father got Omasili really angry and she set out to fight with Adaugo

"See them.. Shameless women"Ekemma screamed in annoyance.. She only wished Uju was around to put them in their right places.

Adaugo ran in and brought a pestle while Omasili grabbed a huge firewood. Both rushed to hit each other.. Ndulue who had been awaken by the noise rushed out to see what was wrong and Adaugo who rushed to hit Omasili with her pestle mistakenly landed it on Ndulue's head.. Boom! Ndulue fell down flat on the floor bleeding from his head..

"Adaugo na Omasili egbuom ooo"Ekemma cried as she rushed to Ndulue on the ground.
Adaugo and Omasili dropped their weapons and went to Ndulue..

Ebere sat in front of her Hut with a sad face. Her sister Ulumma had been gone for weeks now and no news had been heard of her.
Asa had come the previous day crying and begging Ebere to help find Ulumma.

"I don't understand why all these would be happening to me. Ulumma told me she was going to Nku's place to seek solution to all the many troubles in the Land and for weeks now, nothing has been heard of her.. Onochie's health keeps deteriorating by the day.. The evil in the Land keeps getting worse by each minute.. What is all these??"Ebere soliloquied as tears dropped from her eyes.

"Use your powers to withstand the evil brewing around you.. You have been endowed by powers by the earth goddess for this purpose. Why are you weak? Why do u let the evil one toy with u so easily??"A voice spoke.
Ebere looked up and saw a child standing before her. The same child that appeared to Ajonwa!!

"Who are you?"Ebere asked visibly scared

"Who I am doesn't matter.. Use your powers to save yourself and the Land.. Have you forgotten you are the great umbrella of Umuozara people? they have an umbrella in their hands but the rain still drenches them.. Ebere arise and save your people.. ariseeeee"The child said and disappeared.

Ebere screamed loud as she felt a surge of strength engulf her.
Her maids ran to her.

"What is it my Queen.. You screamed so loud"The maid asked in concern.
Ebere comported herself "Nothing.. nothing.. am fine"

The maid wasn't convinced but she couldn't say anything.
"I was coming to tell you that you had a visitor before I heard you scream"

"A visitor? Who's that??"

"A maiden in a veil.. She insists to speak to you my Queen"

"A maiden in a veil? did she give her name?"

"No my Queen"

Ebere nodded
"I'll be with her shortly"
