Crystal Palace’s troubles in the Premier League will continue at
the weekend with defeat to
high-flying West Ham,
according to Mark Lawrenson. The former Liverpool defender
believes the Hammers’ fine
home record will ensure
another disappointing afternoon
for Alan Pardew’s side. The Eagles are yet to win a
league game in 2016 and have
gone 13 top-flight games
without registering three points. Lawrenson, who made over
250 appearances for the Reds
in the 1980s, said in his BBC prediction column: “Crystal Palace's long wait for a league
win continues and, while it
does, they are getting dragged
closer to the relegation scrap
that is happening below them.
“They will win somewhere -
even Aston Villa have won
away from home once this
season - but I don't see it
happening this weekend,
because West Ham have been so good at Upton Park.” A superb run of form by Slaven
Bilic’s West Ham leaves the
club one point below a
Champions League position
with eight games remaining. The Irons have only lost 6 league game this season.
