In the land of iguocha where people are known for excess beauty lived a certain beautiful gal named Amara. definitely not the most beautiful girl in the land, but obviously the most desired. her stop less skin was neither fair or dark it was somewhere in between, glowing like glass smoothly like a slink her flawless skin was the envy of the other maidens in the land even thou was from a very poor background, her smile bright like the morning sun was enough to make every male species desire the sight of her.and her suitors where many even thou she was still in school did not stop increasing though from a very poor family did not stop her dream of becoming a medical doctor in other to take her family out of poverty. she had watch on her neighbor television the way doctors dress smartly in white apparels in the hospital and have vowed to focused squarely in her studies in other to reach her aim. Amara started school late but at nineteen , she was in her final year in secondary school and she had never lost the top position in her school, and she looked forward in writing the popular wace which was feared by all the secondary she had burned candles in the long vacation and now the resumption is finally here with much energy. her dream is finally coming to fulfilment. she had hope of meeting the scholarship in other not have any problem in school. little did she know about her destiny and it took another turn.something unexpected happened ,, something unexpected happened, which change her course of life for ever. **** ******** I closed the lid of my diary as warm tears glisten my eyes u wanted them to go away as usual but they rolled in controllable down my eyes. episode nine Two weeks dragged by the swell of my tummy became visible for all to see. unfortunately the only thing that saw me swell was the four wall of my room, Alex have brought the agreement just like he talked about two weeks ago. and I signed it instantly, wanting to get the deal over with. ever since I signed the documents I haven't set my eyes on him. it was not surprising since I hardly sept out side my room , I had everything I needed there. I paid tola her own coins. making her do everything from washing to cleaning I really frustrated her. it wasn't really long before I got tired it wasn't in my nature to be wicked. so I decided to apply maturity by ignoring her. she was surly regretting her earlier maltreatment of me. Tina was helpful as usual never letting me rest, she tried seeing me as the madam I am not comfortable with. living big seem strange , and it was almost scary. I needed a friend to stand by me. after schooling her and letting her see me as a friend Dan a maid she finally agreed. thou she still gives me the respect . Tina have been responsible to make sure I always eat she will talk me to death if I refuse to eat it was annoying most times but it gave me hope that someone really cared for me. I wondered y my mum haven't visited, if my dad didn't it would save me from mental trauma. I needed my mother more than I can explain even though she behaves too softly making people ride her too many tyms I still love her so much. despite my dad bad behavior I still love him but will be more happy to avoid him for now, our poor State seems to have made him wicked. I entered the house hours later , today is the best day of my life I said happily. bubbling with Joy. I was having a boy the thought was so pleasing .à Tina was so right about asking me to go to the hospital. I opened the door to the sitting room and what I saw there I was frozen Tina almost bumped into me but I wasn't looking at her, my gaze was fixed on Alex and the woman that was with him kissing and romancing in the sitting room. all the joy that was with me died that minute. I have avoided Alex for several days y did he do this today. what was so annoying was that he was with the same whore he was with last time.I wondered y she's here knowing fully well that he is married, she had no shame at all. Tina touched my shoulder gently. I went to them they wee too busy kissing and romancing . I raised my voice at them, saying I thought the last time u two should move to somewhere private for ur shameful act? I needed to do the house chors to reduced my depression. with strong determination to stop my depressed state I decided to be going for a stroll in the morning. the stroll proved helpful because the street was so beautiful. my mind constantly went to my problems but I quickly removed it from my mind I sighted a beautiful flower by the side walk and stopped the flowers was so captivating with a hint of pink, white and yellow. my fingers went thru the flowers in amusement and I got lost in my thought. Alex came in my mind this time and I closed my eyes he had given me a flower similar to this one in the village . I was on my way to the stream when he suddenly popped out of the bush. when I saw it was him my fears disappeared I knew he couldn't hurt me. how wrong if I think of the level of hurt he had given to me, the one he had in store for me. he walked with me to the stream pick up a flower gave it to me. it was the most amazing gesture any man have given to me. I jumped in freight, taking my hands out of the flowers. behold a man standing in front of me and was smiling softly I blinked coming back to my sense. am sorry to have startled you it wasn't international he said apologizing. I swallowed to say this guy was handsome would be an understatement. he looked breath taking. his deep voice. he was as tall as Alex and more handsome Dan him with broad shoulders. no one have the right to look this good I said to my self. as I access him he began to smile showing his dimples. I looked at his hands for long before turning back heading home. So I was just a bet?? ***"*********"****** Tina paced in the kitchen nervously. for the past three days Amara had locked her self in door without coming outside. it has been three days since the amiab Lisa entered the house. and the ho was practically on fire. but that was not what was getting on Tina nerves. ever since amara moved to the other room she hadn't set her eyes on her. she had locked the door without coming outside. no single word came out from the room and it was beginning to scare her to death. since she hadn't open the door itbwas obvious she hadn't eating for three days. the frustration was too much for her that she always go there and knock but no one answer. she had repeatedly left food at her door step and when she go back the food will still be left untouched. she had hoped that amara would at least eat if she doesn't want to see any body. until Lisa yelled her brains out telling her to stop wasting her husbands resources else she will fire her. for wasting food on a hopeless village dropout. fear griped Tina as she wondered what might have happened to her.did she slipped and fell down. she had tried to bring the matter be for Alex, but he was always with Lisa and any tym she mentioned amara name Lisa would shut her up instantly. Hey" Tina jerked . and she saw tola looking at her with frown, do you want to put holes in the kitchen ties. what's eating you up she asked. Hey friends this story isn't mine, I read it and decided to share it . the writer is nissi A . as for those saying nonsense y didn't u post it or share it. episode 14 I raised my hand weakly rub my hot face, after hearing the knock on the door. and ignored it totally and the voices that came afterwards even if I want to answer there was no strength left in me to talk . I muttered enough strength to push my self off the bed and almost fell back down. I have stayed in the room after I heard the bomb shade from Alex and even now the word even made it double the pain. during my three days room arrest, I have cried more than I have ever cried all my life. the tears kept pouring and pouring until there was no strength left for me to cry. the water from the toilet tap in the washing basin was the only thing sustaining me. the three days has been very hard for me, filled with pains and hunger which was almost maddening, probably because I was pregnant and my baby was demanding food. I whispered to by baby every now and then telling my self that I am not alone, I began to comfort my child telling him to bear with me. the isolation was necessary. after staying alone , the reality of loneliness dawned on me. I finally reached a resolve. I have reached my terminal where crying is involve. I have finally realized that crying over Alex was hopeless cause and a waste of time and my energy. all I have in this world is my child, whom I will continue to cherish no matter what am up against. I managed to drag my dehydrated self to the bathroom to relieve my self before quenching my thirst by drinking from the toilet tap. my eyes seems to have sank in their socket. as I looked at my self in the mirror and i was a shadow of my self ,I knew I have change that. despite my starvation my breast looked fuller than they where months back in the village. given me more shapely than my original self and I knew it was due to the pregnancy. after drinking to my fill , I washed my face and left the bathroom slowly. there was no strength left due to the lack of food and the water I drank woke up the hunger that could not be ignored. it was so bad that I could treat Tina like that, who has been so good to me. I just didn't want to see anyone. I opened the door to my room and walked slowly grabbing the walls for support. when ever my leg shook. I was on the verge of a new beginning and my first step would be to to quench this abominable hunger. I held the stair case as I went down. the moment I got down I saw Tina and Tola stop the search they where doing and turning nearly jumping out of their skin when the saw me. Amara Tina shouted, this was the first time she called me by my name ever since she discovers that I am Alex wife. and I was pleased by the timing. now I can confidently call her my friend. " Christ" you have almost killed me with worry.she jumped on my side instantly. this is terrible how can u not consider ur condition? Thanks Tina I weakly said and you too tola, remembering that I heard her worried voice , thanks for your concern but am terribly hungry though. I smiled at Tina and she quickly moved into action. I sat in the kitchen with her. contented to hear her angry words Tola hang around not saying anything, I smiled at her then rested my head on the table and closed my eyes. within minute a plate of indomie was placed at my front and I attacked it like a hungry Lion. continuation Why did you lock yourself in, Tina asked with a disapproval look. I was charting a new course "I smiled at her in confusion and stood up and walked out of the kitchen with Tina running after me, by the wag where is Alex mistress I asked unconcerned as I made for my room. Tina followed me probably to make sure I didn't lock my self again. she went shopping Tina said, I nodded with my smile still intact. Tina and I left the house after several hours we returned with heavy nylon bags. she had insisted we take a car but I refused. the ideal of walking round on foot appealed to me and we later got a taxi that brought us back home due to the weight of the bags. the bags where filled with clothes more especially that of baby and toys. I wasn't able to leave anyone untouched. Tina assured me that there where more money than I think in the credit card that was with me and I asked her to teach me how to use it. which she gladly did, we brought the clothes from a cheap store I saw my self smiling genuinely with the thought of my child on my head. Apart from buying the baby things I listened to the words of my mother by buying some suitable clothes for my self. I brought mostly gowns which where free from Beneath my bust because they will cover my tummy the dress where so beautiful and I could not wait to try them on. my three days indoor made me know that my parent have been right after all. I couldn't stick with Alex because of my dislike for the word divorce. I was forced to see the reality that there was no future for me and Alex, because if there is going to be any miracle that I forgive him for all he has done I would never forget and that would spoil our relationship till the end of my days. right from the moment I found out I was a bet to him all that I felt for him called love died that day and was replaced with hatred that grows each passing day. I only have my child my parents and my self the earlier accept it the better. there is one person who loves me thou that person is Tina, I smiled at her thank god I have her. why do I have a nagging that the clothes I bought look much than what we need. she asked with a frown. continued from the last episode I walked down the street after two days of that incidence, I saw the flowers again and it got my attention. only that the flowers is not as fresh as it was the other time, the last time I saw it . it was fine and beautiful and I could tell that the weather isn't too good and it die soon. episode 21 Hospital , pls take me to the hospital I stood up from the ground I was sitting down, but I didn't stand straight, holding my stomach like a mother hen. from my bent position I saw Lisa smiling as she was looking at me, I felt like stopping my parade and give her the beating of her life. for ever attempting to kill my child. tola joined Tina as they but dragged me to the car. the driver speed off like a mad man showing concern. I was really sorry for the poor man who knew nothing about the drama. we arrived the hospital I used for my antenatal and nurses rushed out. I continued my pretence scene and the nurses said comforting words. which almost made me laugh, I swallowed the laughter until I was deposited to a room . the moment the door closed Tina burst out laughing which I joined her. Jesus I never believe u could act so well o almost believe u where really in pains. tola looked at me and thanked me for saving her. tola my child and I will for ever be great full to u for saving us. u have nothing to thank me for, the nurses looked at us in confusion. can someone explain what is going on here Amara one of the nurse said. I looked at her apologetically am really sorry for the trouble I told her, but someone tried to kill my baby. if I can see the doctor I will be really great full. I told her. they both looked at us with curiosity. they knew me to a certain extend of helping me out. that is really serious the nurse I knew to be nurse B said leading us to the doc office. the lady doctor was with a male friend and the nurse whispered into the doc ear. she invited us fulling with a smile on her face. how are u Amara, and what is that am hearing. I felt awkward telling her in front of a guy she is comfortable talking to, and I feel he could be trusted. tola narrated every thing to the doctor and how she was forced to to it and was paid even the once I wasn't aware of. all I could do was gap in amazement and it was unbelievable. I also want my frds to be protected. and I will do any thing as long as they are protected. well let go then this Lady must be surely arrested for attempting murder. ur child is really lucky to have many people trying to save him . with that he stood up biding the doctor good bye marching out like a trained soldier. the drive back home was filled with silence. y Tina and tola talked endlessly about the incidence and laughed about my display. the police man made a call asking about my address to another police man, I saw a confuse look on the driver face but ignored it. the face of the police man was as hard as stone and it made me laugh. we entered the compsnd and I saw Alex car. we came doem from the car and entered the sitting room seeing both of them cuddling like s pair of teenager it was strange to me becuce I alway see then like that. before I could say a word the police man came before me saying I believe u are miss Lisa, Lisa jumped up from the char looking more alarm looking at tola. yes she is the question should be who u are Alex questioned. I am detective saija , brought out his card from his breast pocket and gave it to alex. Lisa u are under arrest for attempting murder and I heard a Siren of police outside. what are u talking about. Amara what is , looking at me. what are u planing this time. oh pls ask ur little Queen over there who tried to terminate my pregnancy with drugs. well you are better off without the preagbacy Alex said. the police man raised his voice if u are not careful young man I will make u accomplice like magic he brought out his havd cuff , this is a mistake Lisa yelled am innocent she said tying to run but the police man was fast enough to catch her two more police entered the room. amara and you tola you must pay for this as the police men dragged her out of the room. I made her a maid in my house for making my life a living hell on earth but my father threatened my position in the office which I made I sign an agreement giving her liberty and I stupidly went ahead with the agreement. that had been the most stupid thin I have ever done. among many other stupid things toba said angrily. thanks, I brought Lisa to the house when she declared her self pregnant just to spit her. but what did I get my house became a living hell. I told her about the bet to destroy her confidence but what did I end up achieving, she turned into a monster. you advised me to beat her to pulp, but what did I get, his voice rose to several degree and he needed up hitting his glass on the table . I got a bloody suspension letter from my own father. he boomed and toba lifted his hand to hold him, Lisa tried to use drugs to remove her child but was stupid enough to use tola . instead of doing the dirty job her self, what did she get, she got her self locked up. no plans works against her he hissed, toba hissed I think she's a witch or an obanja . continues Alex poured another cup of drink and the drink was beginning to make his head light. do u know the worst part of the ride is that amara look more beautiful each passing day. she has has changed from the village girl I used to know.
