Episode 1 I don't seems to know were to start from. A friend of mine once told me that as big as river Niger is,it still has a place where it started from. So i will try and narrate my story very well without any stone upturned, because a lot of people are going to learn from it.well sit down and get your pop corn ready let me tell you a story of how my father make the greatest mistake that destroy my life, destiny and that of every member of my family.no forget to eat something o as we move on with the story. I am writing this because,i know that, they are similar people LIKE me out there that are passing through similar cases like mine,i don't know what i will do to my self when i am through,but before i do anything to myself,i thought it's wise to let people especially the youth know about my predicament. I want you to know,how some parents destroy the lives of their children in the name of wanting them to become what they want them to be. As a result, they destroy the real person in the child and leave the child with a fake identity. My name is chukwudi, i am a guy of 39years old, i am an ibo guy from somewhere in imo state to be precised.all my life i have always wanted to be a musicIan. I sing very well, i started singing as far as i can remember when i was still a kindergarten (little child),i grew up to love music very well but my father never liked it. He always told me that people who are musicIan are always wayward children. He wanted me to become a medical doctor because his elder brother's son is a doctor and he is making it real good in America, some few days after my junior waec, he called me and started filling my mind with some words. "my son chukwudi,i know you are a very good boy and obedient son also, do you see that big house over there?" He said pointing to a very gigantic building opposite our house."it was Chinueke that built it for his father after graduating as a medical doctor. Above all my son, i guess you must have heard people calling him "papa doctor" , i am not that rich as chinueke father but,my son i won't mind selling this only house just to make sure that you graduate as a medical doctor" he said while i listen with rapt attention and fucos on the movement of his lips. Episode 2 . ***CONTINUE FROM THE LAST SCENE*** My mother kept quiet while all these things happened.i came from a place where women do not talk when their husbands make decision.she would always tell me to listen to my father that he was saying the right thing.i did not say anything rather i kept my head bent down, for i gat no nerves ti interrupt my father when he speaks,who am i to interrupt when my father speaks i was a very nervous boy.i thought that when i grow up,or maybe when the time comes for me to start speaking for myself,he will understand. As i was growing up i was concentrating more on music than my work at school.i was in science class but a dullard, whenever my group went for a music competition in school,i was always the lead soloist because i have a good voice.whenever i brought the prize home,my father would beat me and destroy my prize. He would say" i sent you to school to be a doctor and not a musician". There was a day i hated most in my life a day that i felt as if the earth should open up and swallowed me.we went for a musical concept where other secondary schools where participating as well, as God would have it ,my group came first and we where given a prize,i ask my music director for a favour to take the prize home to show my parent thinking that they will have a change of heart if the see the marvelous prize that i won for my school.to my greatest imagination,my father destroyed it and the prize not for me but for the school. When i get to school the following day i lied that i was attacked by some thugs and the prize was stolen.ofcourse you don't expect the school authority to believe that cork and bull story, no body believe me including the students,and to worsen the situation,the principal gave me 24 strokes of the Cane in front of all the student not minding my efforts as the soloist,then he said,next time i should be careful with school properties. Episode 3 . ***NARRATION CONTINUES*** I was forced into sciences and i was not happy about it.i used to be the best art student in my school.i was lucky to sit with a brilliant science student on the examination day.thank God i managed to pass my o'level without stress. When i took result home,my parents where happy about it,especially my father,he said"you have made me proud,you've done very well i promise i am going to see you through the university"".bu t papa" i managed to say for the first time though i was looking at is face for any form of angry reaction,when i did not see any,i continue with what i was saying"i don't know how i managed to pass my exams,papa i think i like singing,i want to be a musician.okeke's son is in my group and his parents are very happy about it.i don't know why you are forcing me to become what i don't want to be".he retorted,"shut up,you small boy! What do you know about life?"but dad i'm not good at sciences, i can't seem to understand anything"i said with a cracked voice. Each year i wrote jamb examination,my scores never exceeded a hundred and twenty.there wasn't any year that passed by that my father wouldn't enroll me in jamb exam,but for ten good years,i was still at home waiting patiently to study medicine until my father finally sold his house to bribe lecturers. I managed to gain admission into the university,my academic work was very poor, i was known with carryovers in every semester.I was advised to change department but my dad kept bribing his way through. While in school, I was the lead singer of a wonderful group.as a result of our excellent performances,we were to go to London for a musical concert, i did all i could to persuade my father but all to no avail.he was supposed to sign his approval,he refused to sign instead he said he would not mind bribing the lectures to make sure i graduated as a medical doctor. Episode 4 (last episode) . ***PREVIOUSLY*** He was suppose to sign his approval,he refused to sign instead he said he would not mind bribing the lecturers to make sure that i graduates as a medical doctor. ** CHAPTER FOUR (final chapter) *** CONTINUE FROM LAST SCENE*** you imagined how foolish that sound,he thought he was doing the best for me but little did he know that he was destroying my destiny. I was sitting in front of my television set,and i saw my group in London performing wonderfully.chukwuma's son happen to be among the group,both of us attend the same university.I wiped my face several times with the back of my hand to be sure of what i was seeing until the show was over.days later i was looking like a mad man,i was getting worse everyday in my studies until i was finally dropped out of school.i am now a school drop-out for those that understand what i mean. I regret ever listening to my father. I know the bible says we should obey our parents but not in this case.if you are going through similar situation like i am,please think fast and decide on what to do before your life goes over the bend.you have your life not that of your parents,yes we are suppose to obey our parent just like the bible says but it should have a limit. As i am writing this now,my father no longer own a house,after he sold it,he rented an apartment,which he is finding difficult to pay. Anytime from now we will be thrown out of the house because the landlord is already threatening fire and brimstone. A wise man once say that, "if it is well for the leaves,it will surely be well for the grass hopper because if the rain don't fall,the leaves will not grow and if leaves don't grow,the grasshopper will not eat. Due to my father's excesses ,I am now a frustrated and confused man at the age of 39.I now see my self as a mistake,Surely God waste his time in creating me.where am i going to start from?
