Two guys were after the same girl (Tola), d 1st guy is Gbenga and 2nd guy is Dayo, Gbenga is gainfully employed but Dayo is not totally jobless either but his salary is way too small to even take care of himself not to talk of others. Tola accepted Gbenga because she believes Gbenga can fend for himself and others with his job

So to the case ( WhatsApp conversation)

Gbenga: babe, you know I love you so much, that I can't wait to make you my wife

Tola: I love you too, you are my everything and I can't wait too to be sleeping and waking beside you everyday as your wife

Gbenga: thank you my love, you are my heartbeat, I love you so much

Tola: I love you too

At that time Dayo was also chatting with her

Tola: what is the problem with you, I said am not interested in you

Dayo: please Tola, just give me a chance to show you how much I love you

Tola: (scoff) how much you love me?

Dayo: yes, let me show you and I promise you that I won't hurt you, I will care for you with everything I have,

Tola: care for me? Who are you to care for me? You are collecting 10k in a month and you want to care for a girl? Even me that is collecting 30k In a month, its not enough for me, so I should now be dating a guy that barely feeds himself?

Dayo: Hmmmm

Tola: since you don't have anything reasonable to say, can I go?

Dayo: yes you can go but always remember that I love you and everything about you

Tola: anyhow jorr

Weeks later

Tola has left some messages for Gbenga on WhatsApp that they need to talk, so when Gbenga came online, he called her to come online

Gbenga: babe, you sent me msg that we need to talk, hope no problem

Tola: there is a problem, can you believe that me and my family has not eaten anything since yesterday night till this afternoon?

Gbenga: why? Are you fasting?

Tola: no, you know mum is a petty trader since dad died and my own boss has not been consistent in paying our salary, he is owning us 3month salary now, and me and my siblings are depending on mum to bring money home from the market everyday but she couldn't bring anything home at all bcos her goods were seized by the local govt, so we Havn't eaten since that yesterday till now,

Gbenga: Hmmmm

Tola: so that's what i said I should tell you, maybe you can help

Gbenga: Hmmmm

Tola expected any other word from him but he didn't say any other word till he went offline, that was when Dayo's chat came

Dayo: oluwatolani, how are you today?

Tola: dayo or what are they calling you, I don't hav time for all your nonsense talk today

Dayo: hey, chill Tola, what's the matter with you? What happened to you, please tell me

Tola: Hmmmm ( she explained everything to him)

Dayo: what? Jesus! So you mean, you Havn't eaten anything since yesterday evening?

Tola: yes, am fed up

Dayo: its OK, am on lunch break now, let me go and take permission from my boss, and u should meet me at your junction in the next 1hr

Tola: OK

One hour later, Tola went to meet Dayo as he instructed, he handed #5000 to her and a bagco bag full of cooking ingredients

Dayo: I Hav to go back to work now, we will talk later, you should also rush home to cook, so that you people can eat
Tola was standing there amazed, with tears in her eyes, he left the spot

A week later

Gbenga: babe, xup, I missed you a lot oooo, you can't imaging how much I missed you

Tola: Hmmmm, but you do come online now, and you decided not to chat wit me

Gbenga: oh, common, you can't understand, am too busy, that's why I couldn't chat with you, anyway forgets that one,

Tola: Hmmmm

Gbenga: what is it now, but am here now, chatting with you, let's chill out, I will pick you at your junction, let's chill, its been long we chill out, and you must come and spend the night in my house

Tola: Hmmmm

Gbenga: anyway, I have to go, I will see you later

Tola started crying, bcos she gave her heart to someone that doesn't care about her family or any other thing that is happening to her, what kind of love is that and she can't switch to Dayo, so that it won't be as if its because he was able to meet her needs and that's why she is switching.


So coolvalers what is your take on this, what's your opinion

hmmmmm...my opinion is that mr gbenga is not the right man for her atall, someone who claimed he loves you, and yet he cared for you less.whats the importance of the love he said he had for her?and whats the usefulness of his wealth.....though am not saying mr gbenga should be spending all his sal on miss Tola oo buh notwithstanding he ought to care a little...thats why they say money is not love.the word *I love you* is easy to say, difficult to prove. meanwhile she cant switch to dayo now, yea, so that it wont look or be asif bcoz dayo meet her needs, thats y she agreed to his proposal.she should chill....a better man will come, and if its Dayo, fine...coz no condition is permanent....he earns 10k per month doesnt mean he wouldnt earn more than that later.

Tola dnt b greedy jst bcos he meet ur demand u want to switch ova to Dayo...wel I wil advice u to cut ur relationship wit gbenga z only afta ur body nd watch Dayo for few weeks nd c if u can consider him evrytin z nut abt moni God might hv jst use him for jst dat period of tym to help ur famz out

As Someone said: Love is not a one-way street,,, it requires communication from both sides,,,, he says he's in love with her doesn't mean he really loves her,,, that's not love,.... He should communicate with her, I don't mean have conversations with her alone, he should read her heart and help her when she needs him and he should always share the burden with her Saying I love you so much have so many responsibilities attached to it not just some words coming out of the mind

@Kingsley, if u say tola loves him bcos of his salary, u are right but you will agree with me that dia is no lady out there dat will want to settle for less, considering the type of home she comes from, she will want a man dat can lift her up and also help her family

first she made a wrong choice, the benefits of a relationship made her to choose gbenga. she felt that as long as her needs are taken care of, then she is loved which is not the case. if it were my case, I would tell both guys to give me a break, one month maybe. think through everything and whoever will endure that break, will be my guy. that is my opinion

I don't want to be judgmental but I will say this A man you want to give your heart shouldn't only be your lover but also a friend, companion, and a soul mate. It left for you to choose between someone who loves you but care less about your family or someone who loves your family as much as he loves his!!!!!

You won't totaly blame Gbenga for his actions. In recent times, we've learnt of desperate girls cooking up some stories just to part money away from guys who cares. That might be Gbenga's fear and mindset when Tolu came up with her pleas. Nevertheless, one show of uncare should not come between them though she should thread cautiously & find out if that's whom Gbenga is. Also, she should be friendlier now with Dayo cos it seems he truly care. On the other hand, how come no one is lashing out Tolu for using money as a yardstick to choosing whom to love. Isn't that wrong in the first place? How sure are we that she even loved Gbenga before and not just his money? Judging from this perspective, both of them didn't love each other.... While Tolu loves Gbenga's money, Gbenga loves Tolu's body and beauty and that was the propelling factor to his action. MY ADVICE! Tolu should understand what love really is and make a clear distinction between it and money. When next she wanna fall in love, it shouldn't be solely on the suitors earnings but his personality.

i dont know for other girls out there but If i were to be in Tola's shoes,i would give myself space and time to see which ever guy is coming my way and please dont let us confuse ourselves with this:Love is not sex niether sex is love,it just what many people believe it's the prove so even if we say she should follow her heart,sometimes our hearts can deceive us,blind us not to see the truth,the best thing for her is to look to God and he would direct her to the right man.

OK I can't imaging myself not having any job and one jobless guy now approach me for dating,,,, girls don't think like dat, b4 dey fall in love, dey will think it through,,,, dey will want to know how caring d guy is, how he will see her family except if she is d one dat 1st fall in love,,, but tola did not try to siphon money out of Gbenga, she was in desperate situation and she doesn't even know who to turn to, apart from her boyfriend, u wil see dat it was bcos she couldn't get any help from him, Dats y she told Dayo but what I see dat she did wrong was for her to determine d guy she can date bcos of his pocket, she forgot dat all dat glitter are not gold.. thank you all for your candid advice and opinions
