GBEGIRI SOUP is a local yoruba delicacy made with beans. Mostly eaten in the western part of Nigeria and also appreciated by other ethnic groups and other African countries in West Africa.
Ingredients: Beans, onions, palm oil, pepper, salt and seasoning.
Steps involved- Soak the beans in a bowl of water for about 15-20mins, peel off the back of the beans wash properly and pour into a pot adding enough water.
Place on heat to cook for 20mins or till it’s soft then us a short strong neat kitchen broom to mash the beans till it’s soft now add the onions, seasoning, pepper and palm oil allow to cook properly and steam for 8-10mins.
The soup is ready to be taken with either amala and pounded yam etc.
