A gateman who served his Indian boss for 25 years has changed the lives of people in his community - Musa Usman’s boss decided to build him a house as a reward for his services over the years - Usman rejected the offer and asked his Indian boss to build a borehole for his community in its place Selflessness is an act a few number of Nigerians are known for. Some patriotic citizens do not mind inconveniencing themselves just so others can live better lives. It has been said that kindness is the act of doing good things for people who cannot repay the act and one Musa Usman has shown great kindness with his recent action.
According to Daily Trust, Musa Usman had served his Indian boss, Mr. V. Verghese, for 25 years and he was planning to leave his job to finally spend time with his family in Giljimmi, a Fulani settlement in Jigawa state. To appreciate Usman’s services, Verghese decided to build a house for him. However, the offer was turned down. Instead, the kind gateman asked his boss to build a borehole for his community because there was shortage of water in his village and people had to go a long distance in search of clean water.
Note that Usman lives in a thatched house in his village but he expressed no regret at turning down the offer of a new house just so his people can have clean water to drink. This is beautiful. Many Nigerians have shown that they are selfless with their actions.
