Episode 1 I woke up early that morning with a rumbling stomach,which reasons cannot be far fetched from a little imagination, yeah I slept off last night after a tedious hawking on the busy street and I forgot to eat my dinner.i checked my mums bed which consist of a little bed that has weird off remaining a Little part and she was not on the bed.i quickly kneelt down say some quick prayer and I rushed to the window to check what the time could be for there was no watch or clock to know the actual time . and I find out that it was still very late in the night probably 5am,i quickly arranged my bed which consists of different bags of cement been sowed together and a pillow that was filled with rags and I kept them under the only table in the room then I want out to look for my mum. I saw my mum bending her head to blow the fire she had maked and a small pot on the fire,i stood immensely at the door with tears tripping down my eyes and I tried cleaning them off with the back of my hands which kinda trigger her attention on me and she turned back with a bright smile on her face which I could easily see from where I was standing with the aid of the fire close to her and she quickly stood up and put me in a tight hug. "don't cry my son,today is too special for you to cry"she said in a cool voice wiping my tears with the wrapper on her waist. "mum". I called slowly raising my head to stare at her beautiful face even though I was not seeing her face,i know she is very beautiful. "yes my jewel"she replied with the sweet Smile again which trigger a bright smile on my face too. "I will take care of you mum, I promise you mum I will work so hard and face my study like my life depend on it"i exclaimed with so much confidence and she tighten the hug on me. "I believe you son, you are trying so hard already am sorry for making you to pass through this tribulation of life at this esrly age"she reply in a crack voice which later failed her as tears were seen dropping down from her eyes and I cried too along with her. "I love you mum". "l love you too my son" she replied with a cheerful smile. "now go and get Ready for your New school".she said and I smiled disengaging the hug and I headed for the door to the house. "ututu mma"i turned back and greeted her in my local dialect and she smiled. "I thought you won't greet me today because you are becoming a big boy na"she said and smiled and I dash into the house to do my morning chours as the day was getting brighter already. oh sorry for my manners I forgot to introduce myself I was taken away with that emotional chit chat with my sweet mum,my all in all and my best of the best.i am wisdom wealth a 16 years old boy introduce into the crawl world of hardship at the tender age of 9.my dad was a well to do Young man with two companies in Lagos and here in imo state.he died untimely To what the doctor describe as food poisoning and my mum was accused of killing him.we were drived into the street with nothing by my father families and we have slept in the street for 3 years.my mum Hawk on the street for years just to take care of me the little she could.we slept at people bacony, under the bridge and so many nasty places until My mum gathered a little money which she used to rent this small house with a room and parlour and it has served us a great help. life in the street is not easy that was what i have been made to understand in my tender age. my mum save a Little money and she used it to start a small petty shop,selling food stuffs outside the house and she stopped her Hawking on the street which I picked up to assist her the little I can even though she was totally against me hawking things for people.i hawk from Monday to Friday when am back from school and on Saturday I hawk all around-the-clock in the whole city resting only on Sunday and it never for once stopped me from being immensely brilliant topping my whole school and I was awarded a scholarship by the board in my Alma mater to continue my stud0y at the prestigious kings college a school were I never dreamt I can even smell the gate not to talk of being counted among the students. to be continued.......

→episode 2 ↓↓ I quickly wore my New school uniform which consists of a blue Long trouser and a white shirt and I dived to the parlour were I met my mum packaging Her products which she will market for the day. "mum how do I look?" I ask my mum and she turned back and stare at me opening Her mouth ajar with a bright smile on her face. "you remind me of your daddy son"she replied when she had gotten hold of her voice and I smiled. "my son"she retorted and I kneelt down cos I already know what is gonna follow that it is not New to me. "you are going to a New school,am not there to tell you what to do and what not to do,be careful and always face your studies which is the only paramount key to a successful future .you have never for once let the name of your father down please remain of your good moral conduct,stay away from bad friends.you are my eyes,my life and my hope, you are the only reason why am still alive today please don't let me down. people will laugh at you but don't worry my jewel always remember that you are better than them,you have what they can never dream of placing their hands on, stay away from a trouble loaming area and above all you must not fight. apologise to people even when they wrong you it Will not take a dime from you". she finished advising me and I looked up staring at her beautiful face.what she said is not too hard for me afterall I am already practising all that. "bring your palm "she added and I stretched my palms toward her and she spit on them. "God is with you, you father spirit is with you,you will be great in life "she said and I hugged her. I disengaged the hug and ran to the table where she kept my food, I quickly devour the food which consists of beans and garri (cassava flakes).i finished the food in less than 10 minutes as fast as cheetah,you don't have to blame me, I have not eaten anything since the day before coupled with the joy of becoming a student in the great prestigious king academy a dream school for every student a school for the rich. my mum had already gone out to her kiosk already when I returned to the parlour,yes it is a parlour not a seating room there are different between a parlour and a seating room,i know some of you don't know so lemme enlighten you a little. a seating room is that cute beautiful part inside a house were all the Family usually seat to watch movie laughing happily while a parlour is that part inside a house were unwashed plates pot and other utensil are kept and also with rags.i Hope I am communicating?,don't ask me to tell you this again. I parked my note books in my hands and stuffed my mathset inside my pocket and I left the house bare footed going straight to the school of my dream. I walked for like 45 minutes on the highway seeing different classic cars on the way with students of kings academy in them,some were pointing at me laughing skeptically and I knew why cos this is not the first time am experiencing such from people.who Will see a boy going to a whole prestigious kings academy bare footed with his books in his hands and will not laugh. I walked some distance toward the gate as students were seen trouping 0ut of various beautiful cars cos the school parking garage was built outside the school with tight security guarding the whole surrounding. i stood abrutedly watching as students troup into the school with the big gate at the entrance contemplating whether to go in OR to return back to my house.my staying close to the gate was already causing some commotion at the gate as people were already staring at me and laughing so hard then I saw........... >>>>to be continue.....

¤Episode 3→→↓↓ "O.m.g". I exclaimed leaving my mouth open ajar as i stare at the most beautiful girl i have ever seen since i was born averting from a pink lamboghini.yes,a lamboghini,i knew it was a lamboghini cos it was boldly witten on it.surely i was not the only person captivated by the scene cos all the securities,the parents and the gateman where staring at her like a movie as she walk majestically toward the gate with an unfriendly expression.i stood bare footed at the spot and my books were folded on my chest with my hands as i stare at the whole vicinity and it all smell riches all over. i took a quick glance at the lamboghini once again by then it was already exiting the vicinity and a young guy whom i pressumed to be the angry bird driver.i thought of giving up the scholarship cos it was fully obvious that this school is not for people like me,i was still deep into my thought when i was brought back to reality by the voice of the gateman. "you have been standing at that spot for close to 15 minute, are you gonna stay there for the whole day?"he asked and i quietly enter the gate with my books still folded in my chest. ______________________________ immediately i enter the premises,the bell for the assembly was rung and student started assembling at the front of the magnificent building which serve as the assembly ground for the student.without wasting much time i head toward the assembly ground and i stopped abrutedly not knowing which of the line to join. "what are you doing in this school?" one of the male staff motioned to me from the front heading to the back to meet me,embarrassing the leavung daylight iut of me with his question as student started laughing so hard in the assembly ground by mere looking at me.i thought i will be able to handle the embarrassment,i thought i will be able to stay and act oblivion to their words and action but right at that spot,my strength failed me and i can feel musture tears gathering in my eyes which i was trying so hard to control from falling down.i dont blame them either who will see a bare fototed boy in a whole prestigioust kings academy and will not laugh hard.. "who is that?" a pot belle man that was heading toward the line from a beautiful office at the extreme of the school which i presume is his office came toward me as the whole line went uproar and the teacher with the man whom i later discover was the principal of the school came to me while i stare at them like a dundy not knowing what to say. "are you a dummy,", he asked and i quickly shake my head negatively then i dipped my hand into my pocket handing my own copy of the award to him and a bright smile escape is jaw.he took me by the hand toward the assembly ground and stood me at the front of the whole student and teachers present.i felt the ground should just open and swallow me as i saw thousands of eyes staring at me. "good morning students".he greeted the students. "good morning sir".they replied and total silence return to the assembly ground as they were all eager to know what they t principal had to say. "standing close to me here is a super ex student of brilliant comprehensive high school he conquer the whole school and awarded with a scholarship to study with us here"he said and murmuring words could be heard from every line as they all stare at me in awe. "his name is wisdom wealth and i urge you all to emulate him,buckle your educational belt and dont allow the super boy to conquer this school too"he added and laughter could be heard from every from every corner of the assembly ground and for the first time since i left home that morning, i also smile too. "sir!,he can't". A male student shouted from the back and the principal smiled. "we shall see about that" he retorted and ask me to join one of the line at the extreme which i did. Goose pimples appear on my face when i looked opposite where i stood in the female line and i saw the angry bird standing at the line still with an unfriendly expression and i tried my best not to stare at her which i failed countless times as laughter,mumuring words and side talk were overing all over the lines which seem not to be oblivious to her making me to wonder if she is really a human or a spirit without a heart, feelings and conscience.

¤Episode 4 the principal finished is speech advising us on good moral conduct, benefit of being a good student And the punishment for the bad eggs among us then he came down and a prefect was called to round up the assembly. The assembly was rounded up in a fantastic manner and we all walked to our various classes.i thought my rough day was over I never knew it was Just the intro of things that will happen on that day and my entire stay in prestigious kings academy. __________________________________ the class want uproar the moment I step my feet inside as various laughter were been heard from every corner. "look at our Mr. conqueror without school bag and shoes ". a tall boy who could probably be my age mate but more taller than me stood up and shouted drifting all attention toward me while pointing his Finger at me and laughter took over the whole Class once again. "wetting even vex me pass is that his surname which one be wealth again".another tall boy spoke from the back in the local english porpularly known as vanicular and I stood there close to the manuscript board with books hold firm with my both hands. "maybe it's poor wealth" he added and the laughter multiply in fold. "standing close to me here is a super brilliant student,his name is wisdom wealth" a girl whose name I later discover to be adaeze stood up and said trying to MI mirk the principal. welcome to Nigerian were someone whose name is prince will be working as houseboy to another person" a fat boy at the front bluntly said and the laughter in the class continues spotaniously. the beautiful Angry Birds who was busy arranging her Books into her locker when the ravaging uproar was going on,stood up and hit her palm on the bench and motioned to them in a loud Voice to shut up.just like magic everyone Sat down quietly and since that moment my fear for that girl increase a trillion fold.everyone was seating in a pair of two and three but I noticed that she was just seating alone in the middle of five other seat at the back and another role of 5 seat at the front. I was still standing there while everyone were seating comfortably,i thought students are suppose to fill their new class members up Just Like every other school but in this school, no one seem to care about me or maybe because it is a bare footed student in their mist. just then a teacher enter the class and saw me standing close to the board. "wisdom wealth right? ". she asked trying to recollect my names. "yes ma". I stylishly answer,facing my gaze on the floor. "what are you doing,standing here all alone". "I don't have a seat ma" I replied and she exhale deeply then she faced the class. "a new student is in your class and you didn't care to offer him a seat,that is wickedness at the perk " she said and the student started murmuring again. "Isabella,can he seat close to you please"i heard her say though, I don't know who she was referring to,then my worst fear came running close to me when the Angry bird raised her head from Her desk. "OK ma" she said and stood up to let me in. "what" I exclaimed in my mind did I just hear this teacher well, i started panicking as Hot sweat started steaming on my body,as the class went in total uproar and my memory blacked out instantly to be continue........

¤Episode 5 Mumuring words could be heard in different corner of the class and all eyes were fixed on me, I stood wondering why they were staring at me with a disgusting look on there face thinking maybe it was because I was bare footed when a boy who sat at the Front role said some coherent words that I was unable to procure the actual meaning. "did she just agree ". He asked a boy seating close to him. "Yes of course or can't you see it?".the boy bluntly reply. "after months of pleading with her she finally agree to seat with a bare footed boy".A girl retorted and hissed. I stood at the spot trying to read meanings to their words and their awkward stares when the teacher brought me back to reality with her words. "go and seat down with her wealth"she commanded addressing me with my surname and I gently move my legs toward the seat with different thoughts overing on my mind. I enter the seat and sat down comfortably but was scared to look at her face.prestigious kings academy seat are designed with a kinded lock that prevents other people from seeing the laps and legs of another seat when it's locked, yeah your thought is absolutely right,i was locked on the same seat with an Angry bird that I despise so much, though the lock really help me cos no one can see my bare footed legs except her but I was still scared of what she can do to me.i was still thinking so hard when the teacher brought me to reality again with her voice. "we will dwell on African mystery" She said and then I realised she is a history teacher as the topic was boldly written on the board boldly. "centuries ago".she started and paused to look at the attentiveness of the class then she continue when she was satisfied with the calmness of the class. "history had it that mermaids were overing in isiama river here in ezenite,granting wishes to those in needs,curing of ailments which seems incurable to the traditionalist,people and marmaids work freely on ezenite in peace and harmony for years until a duel occurred between the humans and the mermaids at the River who became wicked beyond measures killing and massacring of people unlawfully and the leaders of ezenite were left with no choice than to make a decree that no mermaids should visit the village ever again". She concluded and the whole class look dumbfounded Just Like me cos I have stayed in ezenite all my life play and Hawk at isiama river Bank but have never heard of this tale. "Aunty do you mean there are marmaids deep down the isiama river here in ezenite".a boy asked from the role at the front. "yes there are marmaids but they are wicked marmaids"the teacher elucidated and silent returned to the class as the teaching was too strong to believe. "there is no meaningful explanation in your teaching ma"isabella spoke for the first time close to me as students stare at her with surprise written all over their faces. "what do you mean Isabella ".the teacher asked. "first you said the people were living in peace and harmony with marmaids then you said the marmaids become wicked,if they were granting the wishes of the people,curing them from their diseases why then Will you say they became wicked without telling us the reasons?,can good turn bad without a reason?,you even make it look like the mermaids were at faults when you cannot explain the actual reason for their actions" She said and the whole class concur to her words including me.yeah she is right Good cannot turn bad without a reason,something must have trigger it and that thing is suppose to be known to us if the teacher really want us to understand the topic.the teacher stood transfixed at a spot with sweat fuming on his face not knowing the right explanation to give in other to save herself from the embarrassment overing on her. "Isabella okenwa "she called slowly drifting attention to her. "yes Aunty "she replied facing her gaze directly to the teacher. "you have never for once answer or ask a question in class before why are you so interested in this topic?,she asked in a cool voice. "because...... To be continue.......

"Isabella okenwa ". the teacher called her full names and Isabella sat down quietly still with her angry expression.i can vow with my kidney that this girl as never smile in her life. "what I taught is what I saw in my history text book provided for me by the school authority,what I was taught when I was a scholar like you ". The teacher bluntly emphasis trying to scrutinise the situation to avoid further embarrassment . "you are lieing ma".Isabella exclaimed still with her angry expression as the whole class was as silent as a graveyard,who is this girl that Every one is scared off? "I ask myself rhetorically in my mind. "what you are saying are not in the book in your hands"she added. I thought the teacher will try to prove her wrong by showing us the topic in the textbook but rather she did something crazy that make me to believe Isabella was right. She arranged all her materials from the table at the front role and she exit the class.the whole class went uproar once again as they chant and hail Isabella who seem not to care a dime about them. I thought all this only happen in undeveloped school I never knew even the rich also cry. Teachers were trouping in and out of the Class One after the other,and teaching were commencing in full.i noticed Isabella have not return since she was called by the two prevent and I become worried thinking about sort punishment she must have been facing for insulting a teacher. I was still very deep in my thought staring at my Class mate searching for a Good way to approach and plead with any of them to lend me their notebook when I heard the bell which I scrutinise to be for break period and it drifted me from my thought as student started trouping out of the Class in numbers.i look through the window at the sun radiating from the east and I notice that the time could probably be 11 a.m.in not less than two minute the class was empty as they all went out leaving only me behind. The urge to go out was so strong on me but the embarrassment I Will Face stepping out bare footed made me to seat down.i later draft myself up the moment I realize they had already see me at the assembly that morning so there is nothing to hide anymore i quickly put my books in my desk,locked it with the padlock provided in it then I dip the open key in my pocket and I went out. _____________________________ Students were filled in the school compound playing while some were walking and discussing with their friends,i stood at the partway to my class feeding my eyes with the beautiful environment in the school and I was marvel at what I was seeing and I Open my mouth agape, prestigious kings academy is really a school for the rich.i have held it countless times that a child sun his cloth were he can reach and I don't think been counted among the students of this school is where my hands can reach. the school field alone can swift you off your feet it was fully design just Like a stadium with carpet grasses planted and designed in it.unlike other schools were students were made to stand on the crunching Sun just to watch sports , prestigious kings academy sport field is fully surrounded by spectators seat and a well designed roof shit design with vitrified silver line zinc were placed on it,to prevent the sun from reaching the spectators.the sport ground is a little bit far from the school Main Building.it was separated from the school compound with some silver net and the field is massively Big.i saw a big wide swimming pool close to the field and I was stunned to know that the school also have a swimming ground for competitions.though I don't like swimming,i have never swim before,i have always been scared of anything that as too do with water. I hawk in isiama river bank almost everyday,seeing people playing and swimming in the river but I have never been able to gather the courage to step on the water.,football is really my thing I have always been refer to as the god of the field when I was a kid but it has been very long i participate in the game and I don't think I can be good in it again unlike before.maybe I should try it out now that am in a school with a massively big field unlike my former school were we have always been discourage from participating in anything that as to do with sport rather we were always elucidated to focus on our studies which is our only priority as a student according to them. I really felt like knowing what transpire between the teacher and the angry Bird at the principal office but who will I ask?, talking about Isabella,i still have not set up my eyes and on her,where could she have gone to,i thought within me. The Bell Was later rang and we all went inside the class, as fate will have it we had a free period after the break and I sat down quietly on my seat reminencing on all that happen on my first day in the school. The opposite team passed The ball and the game started again.few minute's later we succeeded in leading them five goals to two all scored by me. I notice the opposite Team were targeting me so I started playing with caution.unfortu nately for me a boy from the opposite team clear my two legs from the ground purposely when I wanted to score the sixth goal and I fell down on the Sandy ground.ekenne rushed toward me and assist me to stand up. I enter the class with the time table schedule and I picked a marker from the hangee which was placed close to the board as they all stare at me and I started writing the list of people who were chosen to represent the class. Five of us were selected which I wrote on the board as they all echoed at the mention of each name.different time were schedule for each class and the jss1 and 3 were schedule for early in the morning while we were paired with the ss2 and the ss3 were paired with the jss3.the questions are to be asked via the two classes scheme which automatically means that the Junior's selected will have to read their scheme of work and also some scheme they are yet to be taught by reading futher ahead of their class while the seniors especially those who have forgotten what they were taught during their Junior section will have to read their Note's all over again.it is going to be a survival quiz which I have never participated before but I believe we can make it especially when Isabella is also selected.i completed the schedule and I went back to my seat while those Who are interested in writing it down started doing their thing and the rest were making a hell of noise in pairs. She used her handkerchief to wipe the tears in my eyes and I quickly wore the shoe which fit perfectly in my foot and the bag with my name embounded on it.she gave me her hand and I rested my palm on it once again walking step by step into the classroom with her Pink prestigious kings shoe and my Blue prestigious King's shoe. _______________________________ The class went in total uproar the moment we enter,as cheers were echoing all around the class,i could see Vincent smiling cheerfully at me and Ofcus,anabel and adeaze were still in sober and fury mood likewise uchenna but who cares.we sat down and i started reading my Books in anticipation for the Quiz including the three other students selected except Isabella who was staring outside through the window. ______________________________ The quiz for that day started and ended in good fate,the first set of pairs Just like it was written in the schedule is the jss 1 and 3 which the jss 3 won and we were paired with the ss2 which we won.all the questions were very hard but we managed to scale through answering all our question correctly,all thanks to Isabella and Ofcus me.the other students with us did little or nothing cos they were too slow compare To I and Isabella speed in answering questions. The ss3 were later paired with the jss3 which they won sending the jss3 out of the quiz and we were paired with the jss2 which we won again signifying the end of the knockouts stage.the ss1 and ss3 were tagged for the Final which was to hold the next day.i went straight to my class after the quiz even though the break was yet to be over while Isabella went to the cafeteria and I rested my head in my desk in a bid to relaxed after the crucial quiz, Thankgod we scale through.i was kinda Sleeping off when Vincent rushed into the classroom shouting my name and I drifted up with shock. I was scared,completely scared of the eyes staring at us while Isabella whom has not said anyword that day since school started for the day sat close to me on the chairs arranged in role for the competitors which make me super nervous.we sat down comfortably and the master of ceremony open the quiz with is speech. "good day,ladies and gentlemen,our staffs of this great school,the principal and all the teachers who made it there responsibility to impact knowledge into the lives of all the students in this school, teaching them the important of education as the only key to Success".he said and waved of hands on the air along with shout of joy coerce by the students took over the air. "this quiz cannot be started without accolading the parents,who are here today to watch their children annual quiz challenges just like the year before,we thank you all for coming".he concluded and called on the principal who also give his speech and a opening prayer was said by one of the parents then the quiz kicked on. Questions were popping up according to the numbers each student's choose and I must accolade the ss3 for their intelligent and especially Mariam and Richard. They are really brillant even though they are stupid.many of the questions are from the ss3 syllable making it very difficult for us but all thanks to Isabella who was saving us from the heat and ofcourse I, cos I also tried my best too. The other 3 students selected with us are just like bonus,it would have been better if I and isabella were selected alone cos they contribute just a little to.we came to the climax of the quiz but the judges where unable to announce the winner cos both class score the same percentage.yeah you can say it again,no quiz has ever been like that but we did it. Surprises were all over the staffs expression including the principal who smiled cheerfully while total uproar went roudy at the students section. The staffs and the judges went into an incoherent meeting for minutes while we sat down waiting for them,finally the principal collected the mic from the mc for an announcement. "I am really Happy today,it has been the best day of my life and the first time I have ever witness what Happen here today ever in history. This is quiz and there must be a winner not a draw,the awards will be giving to any class that can answer this simple but hard question"he said and handed the mic to the mc along with a piece of paper while we waited steadily for the question. The mc stare kingly at the written note and he smiled cheerfully making us super nervous. "the winner of the quiz shall go to the first pairs that can recite the alphabet backward and very fast without stopping starting from the letter "Z". "what!, I exclaimed as Mumuring words could be heard from Every side of the hall while the judges,parent and the staff giggle.we all stare at eachother including the ss3 who were extremely confuse pointing at themselves on who to answer the question. I tried to answer it in my mind but I failed along the line and at that point I agreed to the theory that the little things in the world are more critical than the hard ones we do everyday.mariam stood abrutedly to answer the question and we waited steadily for her cos to me we have loose already,there is no way the alphabet can be recite backward and very fast. "Z,Y,X,W,V,U."she hooked swallowing her saliver and the time keeper ring the bell which signify her timeup. "any other person that can make an attempt? "the mc announce smiling cheerfully.to me no one can do that and I have already given up hope. "in the absent of no other attempt i hereby postpone.....". "I will".the mc wanted to say something when Isabella interrupted him and the whole hall went into a pin drop silence. "Z. Y. X. W. V. U. T. S. R. Q. P. O. N. M. L. K. J. I. H. G. F. E. D. C. B. A"she concluded and and uproar of shouting took over the air combined with applause including The judges and the staff,and we were announced as the winner of the quiz by the judges.different awards were given to us ranging from all the textbooks of the 18 science and art subjects and we were giving handless tops with the name prestigious kings annual Quiz winners"boldly written on it.the principal collected the mic in other to make his final announcement and he collected it smiling cheerfully. "in addition to the awards granted to the winners of the quiz,i hereby announce that this 5 students are no longer under any students including the prefect,they are independent and can only be discipline by the staffs alone from now on till the next annual prestigious King's quiz".he announce and another round of applause took over the air. Vincent raised me off my feet the moment I step down from the hall, including adaeze, Anabel and other male and female students who were hailing and praising us.isabella was smiling cheerfully all through for the first time as people were using the opportunity to get close to her in a bid to congratulate us. What kind of a day is this?,first we won a quiz which is suppose to spice up our happiness only for Richard to cut it short by going insane.my friends shunned me because of a new idiot in the school and now Isabella who I have been yearning to talk to since morning up till now that the school has almost closed for the day,refused to talk to me.when will this stop?, am I going to keep yearning for Isabella forever without being free with her?.this nonsense must stop, if she want to be my friend she should be my friend and if she want to be my enemy then she better be my enemy,she can't come and be confusing my thunder all the time.i pulled the shoe she gave to me and I removed my books from the bag slotting them into my locker and I summon all my anger together then i face her. I saw ekenna running in speed with some other guys from the field and I became Happy for seeing him for the first time in years that I made friend with him.
