.Episode 2 . . . . . . today is monday and lighthouse(gym/dancehall) is always closed so I decided to go and dance out my headache.I didn't go with my power bike because I forgot to take the keys due to Dad's preaching and there is no way I'm going back there to avoid the roit of the boiling mr femi. lighthouse is not far though, its about thirty minutes walk from my house. ''dancing rock'' ''The living mike'' ''Hey ibrams'' King of the dance floor... The main man.....blah blah blah All kind of names came from different corner as I walked towards lighthouse .I Managed to answer few of their greeting because I wasn't in the mode. I got to lighthouse opened the door' switched on the lights and then turn on the music. I did some press up, before I started dancing pausing every once in a while to think of a better step. And then I did a stunt that landed me on my buttocks. Though the music was loud but I could hear someone 'Giggling' I was startled because the last time I checked there was nobody in here aside me.so I turned round to see' who' only to see young girl of about ten, laughing the living christ out of me. I gave her the what are you doing here? Look. but she just kept laughing not minding my massage. I turned off the music. Then she slowly stopped laughing though she was still grinning from ear to ear ''I'm sorry, I was just passing.... We just ....I'm pretty'' she finally muttered And what are you doing here?I asked In a harsh tone that made her tremble A bit because after that I could see the intimidating look on her face You should be in school Not here. Go home now I pointed at the entrance door Please let me stay she pleaded '' No'' I replied ''but I said please'' ......... ''you are so mean''... And that stunt was so lame I can do better than that she poured out before leaving me a with surprises look on my face. she really was a pain but I felt bad for treating her that way.she was only a kid though she was a spoil brat. And about the stunt I know she was just bluffing at least that was what I taught. And then my phone started ringing I checked it was Anna so I picked the call Hello sweet I said Hi love Anna replied from the other side I have been trying your number since morning but you are not picking my call she complained ''Baby I'm so sorry'' I didn't check my phone. Hope all is well? I asked just to clear all doubt ''Yeah'', she assured me can you come over to my place now? I have a surprise for you she added Could my day get any worst I taught i'm saying this because Anna's surprises are wild once I still remember the last one on my birthday I got home late after a life tiring practice with the guys There was no light as I opened my door I saw two shining lights that was not suppose to be there I still didn't mind but as I steped my foot inside the room the strange light started running toward me I ran as fast as my legs could carry me screaming and pleading the blood of jesus as I ran for my life thank God I ran into Anna outside the gate I told her what happened then she started laughing To cut the long story short the strange light happened to be the cat she bought for me as a birthday gift. So I was hoping I wouldn't have a heartattack this time all in the name of surprise Hello.... are you there? I heard Anna's voice from the other side of the phone I was busy thinking about the kind of surprise that I almost forgot that she was still on the line Yeah,'' I will be there soon bae ''I replied Okay see you soon then she said and hang up While I locked the door and Head to her place boarding a bike from lighthouse. *************************** Next Episode loading

At lighthouse things were getting really tough we have a competition coming up in about ten days and I have to build up a strong team if we win this time lighthouse will be in a higher range so I have to put all my Effort plus time I picked ten persons out including taiwo and of cos vicky she is one of the best female dancer in lighthouse The competition will last for two day and in the two days if we are not evicted we have to come up with different dance step we practised day and night though we win almost all the competition we have participated in but this one was different The winner will be going home with a whopping sum of five million naira and a car That was tempting and I'm not ready to loss It not for anything I was already dreaming of a better life in lighthouse same thing goes to my team Some days ago they were fighting over how much will be given to them and who will be the first to drive the car Taiwo was suggesting that the car should be sold and the money shared equally that was a joke though, but vicky took it seriously and chased him out. Those two could be hilarious at time funny and silly couple ''The Spiders'' was one of the threat we have I learnt they now have a very good choreograper that has made their once strong group unbeatable This only made me more determined And the team was not letting me down I have already prepared our costume for the grove only waiting and practising as well We just have to win...... we are the winner lighthouse......

Episode 9 . . . . . . . . I woke up only to find myself in a strange environment. In hospital bed on Infusion I was feeling a slit headache and I was burning inside. Is he going to be okay? ''I had an heartattack'' They were still laughing when my dad came in and they slowly stopped laughing. ''Ab'' what happened to you? He asked though he seem okay but I could still tell that he was worried. ''Dad I'm fine'' I said assuring him you see what I'm tell you? Episode 10 . . . . . I was Discharged home the next morning. my dad sent his driver to pick me up at the hospital I didn't brother to ask why they didn't come with him I just figured they were busy and Nifemi is the last person I want to argue with this morning. It seems I was away for too long So many things has happened I just left for a few weeks but it seems I have been away for years When he got home the next day which was his birthday' I just handed my gift to him and left. ''I have been treating myself for this same symptoms for weeks now but it seem to be getting worst'' I complained'' for some time now I have been so sick. it started gradually but now it seem to be getting worst each day. All kind of test has been done with different prescriptions each time I'm admitted the illness will go for just a day then come back again the next day even worst. ''We are still runing some test'' mr abraham'' The doctor said while writing on the file. ''For how long doctor''? I'm dying I lamented. ''here, I'm writing some drugs for you but you will have to come back tomorrow'' the doctor said giving me a prescription. I thanked him before going to get the drugs from the pharmacy. The pharmacist was still attending to me but I was tired so I decide to sit down. I took one of the chair at the opd(out patient department). Hello you are on my sit I heard someone said as she approached me. I didn't look up to see who it was but I answered anyway ''I'm sorry but I'm so tired and I can't stand up now except I'm going to get my drugs''. I explained. ''but you are sitting on my bag'' she shut back at me. ''So I looked up to see who it was only to find out that it was pretty's mum. Episode 14 . . . . She stared at me muderiously as I walked in.. ''What where you doing with that thing? That... That...'' I just stood glaring at her as she kept rambling and cursing. I waited till I was sure she has nothing else to say. ''She is here because this is a hospital anna'' I charged back'' why do you always think the opposite?'' I have my limits'' I choked out'' I wanted to make her know that Tania wasn't really what she thought and I was sure it will never be. Give me a break anna and stop embracing in public all in the name of jealousy. I lashed at her. she stood still staring at me I guess she didn't expect me to talk to her in that manner but I didn't regret it. Fine then I'm leaving, she muttered'' ''I see you are strong enough to take care of yourself'' she took her bag pushed me out of the way and she was out I didn't try stopping her I just watched as she marched out I was just too fed up of her recent attitude and I needed a break. I was hungry so I took some from the food she brought and some fruits from the one Tania gave me.it became worst towards evening that I could hardly move it felt like my heart was being ripped out of me I kept throwing off and when my mum came she almost cried out her eyes seeing how critically ill I was.the doctor kept giving different drugs which only works for some minute only for the symptoms to get worst I practically puke on any food I take in. I kept dozing off each time. I don't know how long I have spent here but anytime I open my eyes I either see my mum crying or my dad.sitting and muttering incoherently to himself Then pretty and Nifemi I was just so weak. I kept drifting back to sleep each time I try to stay awake. I woke up one morning feeling a bit strong. Nifemi was sitting on the chair beside the bed reading a magazine she was so engrossed in what ever she was reading. ''baby sis'' I called'' I could hardly recognise my voice She looked up from the magazine bro you are awake! she exclaimed Was I dead? I asked mimicking her voice She giggled a bit only her mood changed after that. Let me call dad he is into he doctors office she hurried out even before I could say anything. Just then taiwo walked in with pretty behide him he is awake mama pretty said she was on a call when she came in and seeing that I was awake she brightened almost jumping on me but taiwo held her back. Easy girl he is still weak. She stepped back but she held my hand ''Man what is going on?'' Taiwo asked'' he looked stressed out. ''the doctor should be the one to answer that question except that's a rhetorical question.'' I answered. I'm just worried about you and we miss your actions so just get off that bed its taking too long already there is no light in the house without you he kept talking like he was sent to deliver a speech well spoken like a true politician I intoned that was what he said at the competition.I was laughing as I remembered that. What's so funny pretty asked'' . . . . Pretty's pov Lily has been sick and mama told me that the doctor said she has kidney failure I didn't know what to do mama is so worried though she looked strong during the day but she cry all night beside her. and grandpa has refused to send us any money and we still needed someone to donate a kidney for her. Raising the money was not an issue, mama has said she would donate but after the test the doctor said she wasn't she couldn't. and lily just has some few weeks if she isn't transplanted before then we might loss her. I was thinking of going to meet uncle ibrams maybe he could help but I was surprised to see uncle ibrams at the hospital and for the first time mama talked to him I thought I found a solution but I later found out that he was very sick and each day it seem to be getting worst. he was always weak didn't really know what was wrong with him but what ever was happening it seem to be serious his mum was always crying and his dad had become very calm he just stare at him anytime he is there his team as well. It was really bad seeing him in this state and there was nothing I could also do to help. I cry anytime I come into his ward seeing time lay on his back not being able to move. today his health was better considering since the last time I saw him mama will always ask how he was doing and I was glad she showed concern about him. he was laughing but I could feel he was in pain. But all the same it was nice to hear him laughing. I needed so much to talk to him. and it seem that day would never come but I was happy to see him awake today he looked weak as always though. And when he asked me about lily I told him she needed a kidney without battling words He was quite for a long time and I thought he was sleeping already. I brought out the dairy I took from his room and started reading one of the poem he wrote down I do this each time I visit him and only if her sister or mum is not around. and if he was sleeping. I opened the dairy and started reading. ''If I should die tonight, then let me die in your arms. Your face is the last that I wish to see. I can feel your tear falling softly on me. Your touch is the last I wish to feel and your love would be the last thing that I will ever want. If I should die tonight, then I will leave you my heart. Please know forever and always that shall I be sorry for all the pain I caused you¤ but I won't be dying¤ soon I still have a price to pay...¤if i....'' Episode 16 . . . . . I was still talking to pretty when I dozed off I remember her telling me about lily needing a kidney transplant but after that the next thing I heard made me jumped up I was surprised from where I got the strength from that poem I wrote that poem and pretty was reciting It I wrote that down in my dairy I looked at her she was startled and was trembling. ''I'm sorry did I startle you?'' ''no..... Uncle'' she stammered'' ''I heard you recitating a poem where did you get that from?'' I inquired'' She tossed something on the floor staring at her toe. And was not until today that the test result they have been running came out. and so was the misery behide my sudden illness... you won't believe what the doctor said...... . * * Pretty's pov******** I couldn't hide it anymore I wanted so much to tell him but I haven't find the right time to talk to him but I still didn't get why he did that, if he really loved mama that much. and mama has also been lieing to me as well she told me that she loves papa. I had taken his dairy home the last time I was at his resident. So I decide to help I stood up holding mum as she wailed ontop her husband like he was already dead mum he is okay see he is breathing I showed her Nifemi confirmed that by feeling his pulse. ''But why is he sleeping on the bed'' mum asked but before I could answer. Dad started breathing hard like he was finding it difficult to breath. In a seconds, the ward was already filled with nurses and also a doctor including doctor walker We were asked to leave the ward Mum increased her wailing and so was Nifemi I this was my worst nightmare if my dad should die now I will never forgive myself I had to take my mum to my resident because they couldn't stop wailing. I came back I wasn't allowed into the ward so I had to wait for doctor walker. . . . To be continued.

¤¤¤¤¤episode 18 . . . I finally met doctor walker asking him how dad was and why I wasn't allowed into the ward. He said he was okay but for now he doesn't need anything that will worsen his conditions ''What condition?'' I asked ''don't worry he is in good hands'' was his only reply. Then he asked to to tell him what really happened. I had no choice than to explain everything to doctor walker, and just like my dad, he was so disappointed and blamed me for being stupid enough to tell him a thing like that without thinking, knowing fully well his health condition. dad has had series of heart attack but for long since he is on medications he has been okay. I was only allowed to see him the next day, I was there with him didn't allow mum to come only Nifemi and anna was there. And as much as it annoys me to see her around, I had to let her be since Nifemi was enjoying her company.but they both left early. Meanwhile, The necessary test was done and was confirmed that I could be a donor for lily and the surgery was fixed for next week I didn't tell mum about this, only Nifemi knew about it and I made her promise not to speak a word not even to anna. dad finally dad woke up and I was so happy. But he was not the same. I couldn't bear to see him surfer for my own mistake. He has this disappointing look on his face as he set his eyes on me. ''is it true?''he asked ''Dad I'm so sorry,'' I pleaded talk to me ibrams if I'm going to die let me at least know who my son really is'' he shut back at me. ¤¤¤¤¤ episode 19 . . . pretty's pov Papa has been so depressed lately, maybe because his dad had had an heartattack when he told him the truth. is it really that bad? Will mama also have an heartattack when she finds out? Now I wished I hadn't told lily. I have run out of excuses already any time she asked of papa and why I have not told her who our real papa is. But then something happened today. While I was reading one of the story books to lily just to make her shut up. I heard a crashing sound outside followed by screams. I ran out ignoring lily who was asking me to continue reading since I had stoped just to confirmed what I heard. I was outside within a second I looked round only to see papa's car has been crushed. I looked round if I could see him but he wasn't there. I walked to the crowd in front of the car maybe I could get someone to tell me what happened ''he was kidnapped'' I heard one of them say. ''I don't think this is kidnapping'' the other said ''I guess they are hired killers or how else can you describe this?'' another added. I was so drained I thought I would faint. Papa had been adopted. the worst has happened. then I saw mama coming towards me. I staggered a bit she looked angry but why? Was it because I was here. ''Pretty you shouldn't be here you here I told you not to leave lily alone'' she scolded me well I guess that was the reason she looked angry. ''He has been kidnapped mama'' I said softly as she scanned the car that had brought if not all the patients out. Of their ward. ''Who'' she asked confusedly even if she already know that the car was papa's but I guess she didn't want to believe that. ''No this can't be happening now'' Nifemi cried out. looks like someone must have called her to inform her about what happened I watched as she cried not knowing what to do. Mama was also crying. seeing them cry I couldn't help but join in. mama's cry is always contagious. The polic latter came and towed the car to the station they talked to some eye witnesses who told them different stories one said he was bleeding before he was bundled into the car. Mama cried all night. Just when she thought she has find hope it came crashing down. We just have three day left before the surgery lily was getting weak at each passing day and right now it seem like we are going to watch her die slowly and painfuly. I cried with her. What if they kill papa?who could be behide his adoption? what will happen to his dad? He is probably still weak and nobody will tell him what had happened. I will have to see him tomorrow. . . Seem they have gotten to their last busstop I heard foot steps as someone opened the butt I quickly breath in some fresh air they dragged me out binding my eyes before I could open my eyes then pushed me into an unknown destinations hitting me with what I suspected to be a gun on the head and I blacked out. when I woke up at least my eyes was not bind this time I looked round to see where I was. The room was just so dark I could barely see anything aside the chair I was sitting on only when I made to move that I realised that my hands were both tied to the chair. I struggled to set myself free but I ended up crashing on the floor with an excruciating pain on my right hand all this while I was thinking of just one thing. Who was behide this. I heard footsteps coming toward the door then a phone ringing I kept still as the footsteps head back maybe to pick the call. And then when coming back I guess he was still talking to someone all I could pick was ''yes boss, he is here now, I will take care of him now, you don't have to worry, I get back to you when I'm done boss.'' my heart was threatening to bursting out when I heard him said he will take care of me. In what way? Are they going to kill me? First I was poisoned I survived that but now there is no escape. I cried like a baby. But then the door opened. And the light was on I blinked my eyes a few time before turning to see who it was. it was one of the guys that adopted me smirking as he brought out a knife. ''hmm see how you dey shake'' he started coming towards me ''What do you want from me?'' I asked in fear as he approached me. ''shut up'' he ordered with a slap on my face then he pulled me up still tied to the chair my hand was hurting so much. ''You see this knife'' he pointed the knife resting the tip on my neck. I was shivering by now I wanted to plead but there was no sign of mercy on this beast standing. ''na the last thing went you go see be this you dey hear me?'' but first make I give you morning food so wen you reach that side you go tell baba gan say I dey hail am from this area.'' He walked backed I actually thought he was going to get me food ''I'm not hungry just let me go'' I shouted only for him to locked the door coming back with a smirk on his face. Then he started laughing. ''You say waytin? Thunder.....'' he shouted and started pouncing on me like a punching bag I screamed and wailed and pleaded but he had no mercy till I kept quite but he kept pounding my face. then he finally stopped I thought he was done with me only I was wrong. This time he brought out a gun licking my blood that has stained his hand. ''Oya say your last prayer'' he said pointing the gun at me ''Please don't kill me'' I pleaded even if I knew that he wouldn't listen. ''I promise to give you anything you want I mean anything.'' ''That na you last prayer?'' He inquired. ''okay na my turn. baba gan make you rest this soul when I dey send com so'' he said laughing then placing the gun on my forehead I closed my eyes as I breath my last waiting for him to shot. When his phone started ringing again. He dropped the gun and I opened my eyes slowly. ''Change of plan? ''okay boss'' ''ten million?'' Okay boss'' yes boss'' Then he ended the call looking at me with disdain. ''Baba gan don answer your prayer. Oya give me ya papa number.'' he commanded Now they are asking for ransom but there was hope of me leaving here alive I will probably be found on a dead bag rotting away before I get help. escaping was not even possible. I gave him taiwo's number because he is the only one who I can rely on now. Mum will probably be crying her eyes out by now and dad I cried as I remembered the state he was in before my adoption. And lily if I'm not out of here before three days I fear the worst will happen. He put a call through to taiwo he purposely put it on loud speaker. ''Oya talk to your padi'' he said putting the phone on my ear. ''Hello who is this'' I heard taiwo asked ''It's me ibrams'' I replied weakly. ''My God! where are you we...'' ¤¤¤¤¤episode 20 . . . I remained in one position till evening but he didn't come back. The pain on my right hand was now overbearing. My face were swollen. I tried looking for how to set myself free but the pain on my hand was just too much. Then I slept off. I had no clue of who will want me dead for the umpteenth time I kept telling myself that Tania was behide it, but why will she decide to have me killed now when it's just some days to the surgery.I will make it, I kept telling myself I won't die now. my only hope now was on taiwo and the whole team. Nifemi and mum will be so devastated and I'm sure if dad is okay nobody will tell him about this. I soon slept off only to wake up the next morning when I heard some noise. I slowly opened my eyes to see the room filled with guys about seven of them the light was on so I could see their faces because they weren't putting on mask. I quickly scan their faces if I could know anyone of them. Then my eyes met with his. I know him he quickly turned his face away when he noticed that I was starring at him. ''hey our boss don rise'' the same devil of yesterday shouted and they all turn to look at me ''Make you look us wela o because you go need am when you commot for here.'' The all started laughing. My eyes was still on the same guy but he was avoiding my gaze. He latter excused himself I guess this was their handout for smoking ''make I tell you, if your pipo nor cooperate, we go flush you one of the guys threatened.'' ''And if them come involve police, we go flush all your family'' they all chorused. I was already tired, and begging these sons of devil will only increase my torture. So I was there looking at them fearfully. As they smoke their life out. They started leaving one by one until they were all gone leaving me to battle with pain. Then he came back again. The same guy ''how did you get yourself involved with these people'' he asked as if he wasn't one of them I guess I could get through this I thought so I decide to try my luck by begging him to untie me He shrugged then brought out a knife cutting the rope. ''Why are you doing this'' I asked he looked so innocent like he was dragged into this ''It's none of your business'' he snapped He brought out some snack from his forward bag handing it to me. ''you must be hungry'' he said ''Be fast with that or we will both be in trouble'' he warned dropping a can water on the floor. I will be back he said as he made to leave I thanked him he turned and looked at me ''You are still going to die they won't spear you'' he said briskly then walked off I wanted to ask him why he was here. But he was gone. I devoured the snack as quickly as I can like someone was going to take it from me and drank the water. He came back like he said with some drugs. ''This will Ease your pain'' he said As much as I wanted to trust him I was scared that this was another death trap ''No thanks I'm okay'' I refused to take it He scoffed and kept the the drugs ''have it your way then.'' ''why are you doing this?'' I asked for the second time ''Shut up'' he shouted. and tied my hands back to the chair while he left in a hurry. Only for the beast to come back, his looks alone frightens me. and just like before he gave me the serious beating of my life. My whole body was sore. he tortured me till I blacked out I woke up late I was lying on the floor I could barely move. Then I heard someone sobbing the room was dark I got scared ''Who is that?'' I warned As confusing as this could look I was glad she was here and though she hasn't told me how she got herself involved, I was relieved that she wasn't actually the one behide this which left me to wonder who it could be. we were both quite for what seems like forever. Then she started laughing. I was amazed but then she started crying. Well too much for a company.I groaned you know its midnight already, she said ''seems like'' I replied ''the surgery is suppose to be some hours from now. I was so desperate to help find you quickly that I forgot about my lily. And the funny part is that you still have your kidney she chuckled but I won't have my baby, I won't even be there if she decide to stop fighting... This isn't fair. I won't forgive myself pretty will not forgive me I have failed them. I'm so stupid, she kept repeating. I didn't know what to say, I couldn't console her she just kept crying. I decide to let her be for now. She was actually trying to help, I couldn't believe my ears she actually wanted to help, but why did she end up here? Did she know who was behide this? I couldn't ask her I wanted her to calm down first maybe she will tell me. when she finally stopped crying and fell asleep. Why I lay on the floor thinking of what to do next. since we were two already I found the strength from no where I looked round to see if I could see anything to cut the rope but obviously the room was empty I didn't want to wake her up so I tried to untie her with my back against her's I tried but it seem like I just worsen the knots. I went to the door to peep but the whole place was dark. I sat next to her staring at her as she slept. Seem like destiny. We are suppose to be together but not like this I promise to get us out of here, you don't have to worry. It was morning already the room was beginning to brighten up when the door opened my heart skipped thinking it was the monster. I quickly lay down and closed my eyes Tania was still sleeping. ''Stand up'' I heard someone whisper I quickly opened my eyes it was the same guy of yesterday. ''are you okay?'' He asked I looked at my hand which has now swollen and nodded. They were looking at her in a lustful way, for once I swear to God I will reap their head off if they dear to lay their hands on her.but it seems they were here for something else. ''Your pipo nor wan answer us I think say you be baba of your own'' the monster said ''You will get nothing you bast#rd''' Tania shouted. Now that girl is trouble no wonder they took her in she has no fear. The other guy gripped her neck but she spat on his face with anger he was about hitting her when I got up and kicked with all my strength but he only staggered a bit and came rushing towards me. the both of them they tied my legs and tortured me I heard Tania screaming and begging them to let me go but that only increased their anger one she has triggered. They finally left me when I was even too weak to say a word. ''that na warning for you, if you ever try yourself I go make sure I flush you.'' ''See this as#w# she still stubborn I go teach you some lesson Oya follow me.''They untie her dragging her towards the door she struggled with them giving the monster a bleeding nose when she kicked him I was amazed she could easily defeat them in combat. but the monster brought out a gun threatening to shoot but still she didn't follow them she kept fighting. I found myself smiling seeing the two men fighting hard. they were already drained. They made a mistake when they untie her. But what happened next was beyond amazement I thought I heard gun shot just after I saw Tania brought out some sharp tool or what should I call it she actually pulled it from her hair. but then the monster was on the floor, while the other was holding his stomach while blood was gushing out.. I blinked a few time to make sure I wasn't dreaming, seeing the two lifeless body on the floor. she stabbed the monster while he fired a shot that hit the other. I guess I'm dead already, if they don't kill me here obviously Tania will if she finds out who I'm. ''Bast#rd'' she shouted kicking them Coming toward me I rolled to the other side thinking it was my turn. but she untied me and helped me up. ''You are bleeding'' she said ''I'm okay you don't have to worry about me'' I quickly said. ''Can you walk? Because we are getting out of here'' she informed ''We can't leave we are surrounded and we don't even know how far this place is from the city.'' ¤¤¤¤¤ episode 23 . . . just then the door opened and in came leo with one other guy.He quickly untie us ignoring Tania who was asking what was going on. ''We have to leave now, we have no time'' leo said ''What about those guys outside?'' I asked ''They are going to bury the two....'' ''What happened here he asked?'' ''Errm...'' I didn't know how to explain ''Okay lets go'' he said supporting me. Soon we were on our way but It seem we will never get to our destination. ''Where are we going leonard? And why are you even helping us? aren't you suppose to be one of them?'' Tania asked ''We have no time for that now, just keep going or by the time they find out you are gone, we will be dead so please stop asking questions we still have a long way to go. ''we have been walking for hours now and it's getting late ''it wasn't that far when we were coming'' I said trying to put in a word or two so I won't be left out. ''you didn't tell me you came here on foot mr lighthouse'' leo said earning a laugh from Tania all this while the other guy was busy acting wired. we have been walking for about three hours already and there is still no hope that we will be out of this forest anytime soon ''I'm tired'' Tania shouted as she sat down ''Tan.. please...'' You are tired why do you have to drag me along?'' then we heard a gun shot, first one, then two, and then continuously. leo panicked ''I'm dead the other guy said with his hands on his head. ''Let's go this way'' leo said. we were running as fast as we could Tania was dragging me along with her. I fell down and I couldn't move anymore, Tania was trying to pull me up but I was just so tired I haven't eaten anything for four days now except the snack and water that leo brought for me I attempt to stand up then I saw the other guy pointing a gun at Tania I pushed her as I heard a gun shot but everything was blur after that all I could hear was Tania crying. I opened my eyes again and I could still see her crying. she was talking to me but I couldn't hear what she was saying. . . . Pretty's pov. I waited for mama but she didn't come back, I called her but her number was unavailable. lily couldn't even say anything today, she was just there I held her hands but she didn't fight nor curse me to leave her alone but then the doctor came in saying they are going to take her in for the surgery. But papa wasn't even found yet then who will be the donor. he said everything was under control I had to believe him and pray that the surgery will be successful and also that mama and papa will be back soon. aunt lyna came and was with me she told me that mama will be back soon but she looked worried. and I could easily believe aunt lyna but mama can never leave lily alone, not when she needed her most. something was not right. I was lost nobody was talking to me everyone is busy answering calls or waiting for a call. even aunt lyna, They were in the theater for hours and I was beginning to worry. Then doctor walker finally came out all sweating. he asked aunt lyna to see him in his office I wasn't even allowed to go with her. When she came back she was crying but when I asked her why, she said nothing that lily is okay now. I asked to see her but she said we can't see her now. I couldn't argue I waited till the next morning but mama was still not back and her line switched off. Aunt lyna's phone was ringing when I woke up but she was not there so I picked the call And it was mama I was so happy but she wasn't hearing what I was saying so the call went dead. ''Who was that pretty?'' Aunt lyna asked ''Mama but... She... '' ''Your mum called? ''She asked ''where is she ? How is she doing?'' She was so walked up ''I thought you said you know aunt ?'' ''just tell me I don't have time for that now'' she snapped ''The call went dead aunt, she didn't hear me'' She took the phone and tried calling the number but it wasn't going through.

''He is awake'' the old man said.Tania sat on the floor next to me her eyes were all swollen from crying. ''are you okay?'' she asked tears dripping from her eyes. I nodded painfully while she held my hand. ''Leo is going to get help just hang on okay, you can't die on me now'' I wanted to wipe her tears and tell her I'm okay but then I noticed that my right hand has been tied along with my shoulder with some stuff. and the pain seem to have subside a bit but it was heavy. ''Be careful with that hand you shouldn't be moving it now'' the old man advised ''The police are finding it hard to locate here, and the network is bad over here. I tried calling my cousin but I didn't hear what she was saying. ''thank you'' she said as I looked at my shoulder I didn't know why she was thanking me, and I couldn't even ask why I just stare. I guess she understood and decide to explain. ''For saving my life stupid'' she said smirking I would have been dead if you haven't pushed me. you risked your life to save mine.'' I was starring at her not knowing what to say How is that even possible? Then I remembered the other guy with leo. I knew he was no good when I first saw him. ''They are here'' she shouted waking me from my thoughts. ''Where is he'' someone asked. that was folake's voice I could tell she was the one. about a dozen of armed police men came in with leo I still do not understand his role in all this. while we were running an identity card fell from his pocket, and when I checked, I learnt he was an under cover agent. and his name was celeb clerk, and not leo or leonard as Tania has called him. but who is he working for? ''My God I was so worried about you. but thank God you are okay even if you have just one broken hand.'' Folake said while she ordered two men to carry me to the van. But all this while, I could barely say a word. like I was totally mute. I try to talk but nothing would come out. after several attempt I decide to keep cool. they all talked and laughed as we drove back to town. but I was just there starring at them I found nothing funny. I should be happy that I'm going home but I was battling with my sudden mutism. We finally arrived at the hospital as I was laid on a stretcher Nifemi and mum ran after me this time they weren't crying i guess their tears has run dry already. today being the fifth day since I was adopted. I saw pretty running to embrace her mum as I was rolled in. I wished I could stand up and embrace her too so I can know how lily was doing. but then I remembered that I still wasn't able to say a word since I opened my eyes in that hut. I was taken to the theater for another round of pain because the doctor said he can not treat without seeing what he was treating and the stuff that was used to tie my hand was so bizarre. they had to untie it. With some stitches on my shoulder where I was was shot, before they started putting some knot and whatever on my broken hand all the pain joined together I thought I could shout but I couldn't. All I could do was nod when they ask any question. I was transfered to another ward while mum came in looking all worried I wanted to ask about dad but I couldn't say anything. tears filled my eyes as I saw Nifemi rolled dad in on a wheel chair. They gathered round me with worried looks plastered on their faces. ''Are you okay son?'' dad asked I nodded looking away so I won't have to see the pain on his eyes. ''Say something son don't just nod I want to hear your voice'' he insisted Nifemi was crying now I turned and waved my head saying I can't talk but they didn't seem to understand me. I didn't know how to explain it. I just wished that this was a bad dream that I would wake up from soon. When doctor walker came in to check on me, he also tried asking some few questions. I nodded to the one that required yes or no and stare at him when he ask other's that needed explanation he also looked confused just like mum, dad and Nifemi was now. ''can you speak?'' he finally asked I nodded saying no Mum by now has also joined Nifemi in crying I think he need some rest he said telling them to excuse him. After which he took time to ask some other questions. Which I answered with a notepad he gave me. Could life get any worst for me? Somebody should wake me up from this bad dream. . . . . . It wasn't funny. mum came the next morning with some group of people that called themselves prayer warriors. with lots of speaking in tongues combined with rains of saliva that was almost drowning me on the bed. God!.... I will never forget nor forgive that pastor. He kept bathing me with saliva, choking me with some disgusting stuff he called anointing oil. ''I say come out'' he will shout holding my neck I never swallowed anything in the first place. ''Jesus'' I will respond, not because I was in the spirit but because this pastor was killing me with his hand round my neck. He was strangling me like I was a chicken ''Drink the blood of jesus'' again he will pour some more oil inside my mouth. until the bottle was empty. These people were here to finish me. After much saliva bathing all in the name of prayer.' oshe'.... they left saying the lord is in control. ''Amen o..'' my mum said as she gave the pastor some offering money before he left with his flock. I guess they all have the same sickness. if I'm suffering from ''selective mutism'' as the doctor has tagged it, they are suffering from halittosis. smelling mouth. I'm sure the gate of hell will not dare to prevail against their prayers. Because they already have an advantage. even God will answer without delay. After about a week, things finally went back to normal. not everything though. because it was now certain that the devil has put up a seven point agenda for me, and it all started from the lola street dance competition. And know what has been going on. I haven't been to lighthouse for months now and since I came back from my wonderful adventure none of the team has came to visit me either. ¤¤¤¤¤ episode 26 . . . If not for leo who, I still do not know and Tania, I would have been dead by now and. I still couldn't tell what was actually going on in my life. at least I will soon be discharged and by the time I get home, maybe folake will have to start explaining what was happening. When dad's driver came latter in the evening to pick me up, because I was not going to my apartment i wanted to see my dad. After telling Tania that I would be leaving which she seem to have find out already, And promised to come back tomorrow before lily would be discharged. I bade farewell to the hospital which has been my home for weeks now, if not months. Though I would be coming for check up. but I was indeed glad that I was out. While on my way home, I told the driver to play some music. I can't remember the last time I danced. If I had my way, I would have stopped at lighthouse but I know that no matter what I tell this driver, there was no way he would do that. When I got home dad was sleeping while mum was in the kitchen cooking. I guess Nifemi has gone back to school. After having a long bath I came out. Dad was in the parlour watching news I stood watching him from the door. He looked so pale his once pot belle, seem to have reduced. even now he is constantly on the wheelchair. I still wonder why he was discharged. if it was left for me, matter of fact I would not have allowed him. ''Why are standing there and starring at me like I'm a some ghost son?'' Dad asked I didn't know he had already seen me. how could I have forgotten how sensitive mr femi is? ''Good evening dad'' I greeted as I approached him and sat down. ''you were sleeping when I came in'' I explained while he nodded ''Hmm''' how is my granddaughter doing?'' he asked. I was simply amazed at his question. ''she is... We eat in silent I'm sure mum was already aware of my little secret and the fact that his husband was going to die because of my mistake. my conscience kept pricking me. I retired to my room after that. Folake has called late at night saying she will be coming in the morning. I didn't know when I slept off playing music with phone. The next morning I woke up at about nine, I checked my phone and saw three missed call all from folake I wondered why she was calling, when she told me she will be here this morning. Dad must have gone for check up already but then I heard some noise. I got up still feeling dizzy as I came out only to see the the parlour filled with police I quickly scanned them and saw leo sitting with folake. ''Thank Goodness you are awake'' folake said as soon as she saw me. I greeted them more like I was forced but they were all busy with what they were looking at. ''please sit down ibrams you looked lost'' I sat down while she handed me an envelop I opened it and brought out the content which happened to be pictures. ''What is this about?'' I asked ''Go through those picture and tell me if you know who they are'' she instructed, while I sleepily went through them. First it was anna, and sam you know Sammy my friend from school, and taiwo including two other female that I don't know. ''Why are you showing me this pictures'' I asked handing them back to her. ''do you know them'' leo asked ''Yes, but not all'' I answered truthfully ''Sammy,'' I showed them the picture ''Yes...'' leo said nodding as gesture so I would explain further. ''I don't know the others,'' folake collected the pictures, and kept them inside her briefcase while she switched to interrogation. she kept asking me life tiring question. same thing goes for leo. then I noticed that they were both in for something different. ''Sammy was your childhood friend right?'' Leo asked ''You heard me right'' I answer bluntly ''when was the last time you saw him?'' ''Some months ago'' I answered truthfully ''for what reason?'' I looked at him not knowing what to say. ''he is my friend I bumped into him after a long time'' I lied. ''am I the suspect here or what?'' I asked Even folake looked surprised. ''I'm sorry ''he said. ''Just that for years now, I have been searching for this same person. he always manage to slip out, after each crime but this time he won't go free. Actually, folake said. Sammy happened to be the master mind behide your kidnap he only used Anna taiwo and the two others.'' ''What?'' I exclaimed ''Yes and right now we have anna and taiwo in our custody but as always, this same Sammy has vanished into time air.'' Leo added. folake went out to receive a call when she came back she said she was leaving. ''I still have a lot of questions to ask'' ''I will answer them, you can go. I will be with you soon'' leo quickly said. something told me that he was no good. ever since I said I knew Sam, he has been starring at me like he was searching for some answer on my face. ''She hesitated, but latter gave in while she left with four police men. leaving only leo behide and two other police men. ''Well.. well.. ibrams, let me introduce myself properly. I'm....'' ''I already know'' I cut in before he could start exaggerating. ''Wow.... that is interesting he said sarcastically. ''you know, some years back, there was this party, some school party that took place at Sammy's resident, something really awful happened that night.'' My ears snapped opened as he said that while my heart was threatening to explode anytime soon. Who is he? How is it that he was talking about the party? ''Are you listening?'' He inquired seeing how disturbed I looked. ''nobody died though, but someone I care so much about, she was raped by your so called childhood friend.'' I almost choked on hearing that. I could see the pain on his face as he spoke. ''Who was that?'' I asked. as I managed to hide my fear. ''A friend'' he answered. ''she went through a lot of pain after that incident. I promised to come back someday and make sure he reap what he sowed. I know that this time, something tells me that he will not go free this time. So go on ask your questions'' he urged while I swallowed hard. I didn't know which of the question I wanted to ask anymore. I was practically shaking within like I was suffering from pakinson disease. ''Why would sam want me dead? I finally asked after gathering much courage. ''I think your girlfriend and your best man has the best answer to that.'' Detective folake will be here soon we are heading to the station together. So get dressed he said. If it was before I would have be happy to go and see the face of the two monsters that wanted me dead. but after what leo has said I couldn't even blame them for wanting me dead. for once I had wished I had died in that forest. Because right now I could see that my end was near. I wished I had told her the truth. I can still tell her the truth. its never too late. ¤¤¤¤¤ Episode 27 . . . . I refused going with them to the station. But after much pressure from folake when she came, I went in got dressed and followed them. On getting to the station, when I saw taiwo, he was badly beaten that I could barely recognise him, his face swollen, his eyes red. When he saw me, there was a look of guilt on his eyes and I couldn't help but wonder where I went wrong, I took him as a friend, like a brother I never had. but all those feelings was gone now all I could feel was pity. But then when I saw Anna, all I could see was a shadow of someone I once loved and cherished she almost tore me apart when she saw me. if not because she was behide bars and then the two girls, I letter find out that they were working at the hospital, where they have also contributed to my unending illness by helping anna transfuse the poison when I could nolonger take in food orally. ''But why do you want me dead?'' I asked her not minding how violent she was. I wished I could rip her head off. ''oh shut and stop acting like the saint here, when you know fully well that you are not. you idiot, cheat'' she kept cursing I couldn't really ascertain why she was angry at me. Was it because of Tania that she wanted me dead? taiwo couldn't even explai he kept saying it was the work of the devil. The devil who happened to be anna. ''She dragged me into this she made me believe that... You didn't want me.'' for crying out loud I needed a good reason why he wanted me dead. on his statement, he stated that anna introduced him to his boyfriend that happened to be sam, while he had made a deal with him. sam had promised to give him three million naira plus a forged document that shows that he is the ceo of lighthouse. All this just to give them feedbacks of how I was doing at the clinic, but when doctor walker came, their plan was interrupted that was how the two nurses got arrested. So they changed their plan which was to kill me but this time they sent their guys. But then sam was asking for ransom. still this was interrupted by Tania who came in with a spy. They had intended eliminating the both of us only to be arrested two days latter. There was more to the story that I couldn't put together. One, was when anna started dating sam, two, why would sam join force with her. and three, what was my offence? So much deceit from those I call my friends I don't even know who to trust. while I could tell that taiwo was driven by greed, I still do not know the reason why sam will want me dead. that would be until I see him. but for some reason I wish he will never be found at least not now. My phone kept ringing nonstop while I was still there, it was pretty i didn't intend staying long but folake didn't allow me to leave. It was 2pm already. Dad has called twice already asking when I will back home. I had to send pretty a text saying I couldn't make it. I'm sure Tania was expecting me. But all the same I wasn't ready to see her today. When I got home at about five in the evening, Nifemi was around and the house was a bit lively I almost forgot how annoying my little sister could be. It was obvious that everyone already knew my little secret, which they seem to take likely. But still there was tension anytime we see dad clenching his fist in pain even when he pretends to laugh. one thing I would for ever be grateful to God for, is blessing me with a family that care and understand what it means to stand in for eachother no matter the circumstances. They are my real friends. I called pretty later in the evening, I know she will be sleeping so that means that Tania will have to pick the call, she love using pretty as an excuse to call. I was beginning to adapt to that also. I was almost giving up when on calling when I dailed the number the third time and nobody picked the call. I tried one last time and her voice came in Hello she is sleeping she said.I smiled to myself like who says I wanted to speak to her. I could tell she was angry. ''I know, and I'm so sorry I couldn't make it today'' I pleaded. ''okay'' she said ''Okay?'' I asked again ''Yes okay....'' ''you are not angry?'' ''Why will I be angry? I have no right to be angry I had to wait for almost four hours at the hospital for you. only to get a text not even a call, that you couldn't make it, no I'm not angry. Ngiyathaba (i'm happy) so happy.'' Now she is really angry I said to myself combining shona with english. I was quitely waiting for her to finish talking. ''Are you there?'' She asked ''Tania I'm sorry, I was at the station,......'' I tried explaining but the call went off. She must be really angry with me I tried calling again but it didn't go through. I was tempted to sneak out but I swear the gateman will never let me out not without dad's permission. I could barely sleep through out the night I wish it was morning already so maybe I could go to her apartment with a good reason on how I got to know where they live too. I wished I had called earlier I also blamed folake for making me stay longer than I expected. then I thought about all taiwo said, I wonder why taiwo of all people would be so foolish as to believing anna, I always knew that she has a dark side but not to the extent of wanting me dead. I didn't want to think about the betrayal I puton my headphone turning the volume up. Sleep soon came like a visitor relieving me of my thoughts. . . . . Episode 28 . . . tragedy... always lurking at every corner. I have barely slept when I heard some screams. At first I thought Nifemi was watching some horror movie again. But then when I took off my headphone, I heard the scream again this time I stood up and rushed out of my room toward the direction the scream was coming from. in dad's room. I slowed down when I got to the door. then I opened the door with trembling hands. Mum was screaming non stop hitting herself on the floor while Nifemi was sitting motionless starring at dad who was smiling in his sleep, only this wasn't some natural sleep he had turned pale and stiff on the bed. ''What happened'' I asked no one in particular. While I clenched my fist. I tried to console mum. but she pushed me away. ''He is dead... He... You....'' she shuttered. If only I knew what he meant by those word just some hours ago, when I thought we were having a family time like some thanksgiving. He was in pain, he was dying slowly but he didn't want to make us worry over nothing. I laughed more like I was going mad I sat down on the bed he lay on holding his hand that were now cold as ice. ''I killed him'' I completed what mum was unable to. ''I killed dad'' I tuned to Nifemi who has also join mum in crying. mum ran out screaming I quickly followed her before she do something to harm herself. thank God I did as she went straight to the kitchen picking a knife which I quickly snatched from her. ''Let me join him. Of what use will I be here without him'' she cried bitterly on my arms, where we have landed on the floor while I was struggling to take the knife from her. ''I want to die'' she kept screaming. Nifemi was also wailing on her own while I was left to console them. I called folake because I didn't know who else to call at this time, who within a minute came in with an ambulance to take him to the mortuary. I couldn't believe my dad was actually gone. I promised to set things right. I wanted to make him happy. Why would he leave me now? he has been my strength what will I do without him? I looked at his smiling face for the last time. Hot tears gushing out of my eyes. I wished It was just some natural sleep. I had to stay behide as I was scared of leaving mum alone with Nifemi it wasn't easy calming mum I just let her mourn her husband but made sure she didn't hurt herself. we all gathered at the parlour the driver the gateman and also the two garner till it was morning while I started calling some of dad's relative to inform them of the bad news. As early as eight in the morning the house was filled with relatives from far and near those I don't even know. Family meetings up on family meetings for about four days. it finally dawn on me to take responsibility since I was now the man of the house. while I have pleaded for them to give us time. The so called relative has insisted that the burial be fixed on the last day of the month which was in two weeks. following tradition they said it was never in history that their son should be in the mortuary for any reason. My only joy was that they didn't make mum go through any ritual all in the name of tradition they allowed her mourn her husband in peace I was surprised to see team lighthouse on the fifth after along time. And also Tania came with the girls it wasn't how I expected to see her she barely talked to me she was with mum and for the first time after about four days mum was smiling a bit to whatever she was telling her. only pretty was clinging to me through out before they finally left in the evening. ******** just before his corpses was finally lowered. mum and Nifemi bade him goodbye, which I was unable to do. because more than just a goodbye I still couldn't accept the fact that I will never see my dad again. he should be have been alive today if not for me. 'Nifemi' I promise to carry on your contagious smile. The same one that would light up a room the minute you walked in. I promise to laugh and never take myself to seriously. I promise to love harder and forgive faster. I promise to be content, in every sense of the word. To be thankful for the air in my lungs, and the nineteen years I was blessed to have with you. I promise to grieve that absence of your physical being for only a moment. And then I promise to set you free. I promise to never give up on others, even when I'm ready to give up on myself. I was beginning to loss confidence I brought out my wallet bringing out the little picture I have kept in there. a picture of my Dad. ''Do you think I'm doing the right thing dad?'' I scoffed. ''Of course, this is what I promised and there is no backing out now. So please dad I need now...'' Just then I saw her walked in ''More than ever'' I muttered placing the picture back. remembering what leo told me about three days ago, I couldn't help but wonder if this was actually a secret anymore. Or she was just waiting for me to come out and say hello I'm the b###### that r#### you. ''Are you just going to stand here starring at me like a statue?'' She asked irritated my mind was so occupied that I didn't realise that she was already here standing right In front of me. this was surpose to be a date to her, it was wired enough that I picked lighthouse instead of some fancy reassurance. because I felt safe here at least a bit. Because I was alone with her about to tell her the truth. with the intense gaze from her right now' I was already losing it. ''Please sit'' I said adjusting the chair so she would sit. she frowned and sat down. ''is everything alright?'' She asked curiously ''You looked a bit lost tonight. Still thinking about your dad?'' ''Lets dance'' she suddenly said jumping up only then I noticed that she wasn't at all dressed for some date she was putting on a jean trouser and a big t-shirt that fits her well too then a mixcoloured sneakers she looked adorable and stunning. ''is there no music here?'' she swirled round her hair flying. ''Because you ibrams are so boring. you look so grummpy that I might puke if I take one more look at your face.'' She giggled. She was acting childish and that was a bit relaxing for me. I stood up went and put on the music ''no.. not personally'' I grumbled as the music started playing 'personally by psquare' I quickly changed the music. ''yes this is better'' I said. Westlife imaginary diva. I turned round she was just there starring at me with the most perfect smile ever, she was perfect. I walked slowly towards her she seem to stagger a bit backward as I stood right in front of her. ''Can I have this dance ma'am'' holding my hand out I bowed while she smiled ''Sure...'' She drawled and took my hand. while I pulled her closer, feeling the warmth of her body against mine I inhaled the sweet smell of her hair as we danced slowly to the music. this is no competition it was just the two of us. She rested her head on my shoulder. The music came to and end while she stepped back starring at me passionately. ''I....'' We both said at the same time she chuckled ''you first'' she said. ''No you first'' I said nervously No you first she said yet again. ''if you are not the one by DANIEL BEDINGFIELD'' was playing now. she placed her hand on my shoulder still smiling only this time I felt there was something mischievous behide those smile. ''I.....'' We both said again ''Just shut and let me talk ibrams'' she said sweetly but dryly. I nodded. ''You know when I came back to Nigeria, for the second time, I came for a reason. with so much.... Pain, anger, I came for revenge, to.... You... Are you crying?'' Then I realised that tears were gushing out of my eyes without my knowledge. Where did these come from? I asked myself. ''No I'm not'' I quickly turned my back on her wiping the tears off only they kept coming back this was getting too much. I couldn't just start crying in front of a girl ''This is so Embarrassing'' ''I think its cute'' she said laughing ''Did I say that loud'' I asked surprised turning to face her now. ''Not really, I just heard.'' I think we should leave... I mean go home... Like I mean I will go home to my house and you to yours. I'm sure you are feeling sleepy And... ''Not yet, I have something to say'' I said smiling foolishly. Ok..ay I'm listening are you sure you are not feeling sleepy? She asked smiling nervously '''I.... I.... Love you'' I said saying the wrong word again. though I love her but this wasn't surpose to come first. She was just starring at me couldn't tell what her reaction was I maybe saying this for the first time but I'm sure she already knew how I felt. This wasn't our first date so she must have been expecting that. ''Gosh I'm so stupid'' I said. this time she was surprised. As I started laughing. ''I swear I love you Tania, with all I have.ever since the first time I set my eyes on You.. It has been love all the way... I think about you every minute and every seconds. And that is why I'm saying... I mean I'm so sorry... And I'm so sorry for all the pain I made you go through... For everything... I laughed nervously But still she was there starring at me. I felt a sharp pain on my stomach but I didn't care. I took a sip from the juice on the table were we dined and continued. I.... I.... Did r### you that night... Tania, And I swear there is no day I don't regret my actions that night. She stood there starring at me with little or less concern. Did you hear me I asked confused. ''I said I did...'' Then I felt the pain on my stomach again this time i was sweating profusely. ''Jesus my....'' I clenched my stomach with my both hands only then I saw a look of panick on her face. Are you okay? She asked ''Yes...... No.... ''I said in pain. Just then leo came in or was he there before? ''Let him be'' he said as he came closer. ''He will soon join his father'' he said grinning. ''No you didn't change that'' she shouted ''Yes I did my love, I did this for us, I did this for you. We won't be needing him anymore. now get in the car I will be with you soon'' he ordered. ''So... Well ibrams....'' facing me. ''this is where we say our goodbye, our mission here is over. by the time someone will find out where you are, we will be far away having a good time. All thanks to your beloved friend sam...'' He concluded all this while Tania was screaming and begging that he give her some antidote. ''You poisoned me, Tania you poisoned me'' I said grinding my teeth in pain. I laughed and coughed grabbing the glass of juice so I could quench my burning throte but she took the cup and threw it away. My heart was heavy I couldn't tell what I felt mixture of love and hate if that was possible. ''stop drinking that'' she shouted. ''Tania in the car'' leo shouted in anger dragging her out. ''No I can't leave him here to die'' she protested ''Don't tell me You have fallen for his charms bitch'' he shouted slapping her. And dragging her along with him. while I lay on the floor in pain. I was coughing out blood. I tried bringing out my phone but I was clumsy. I managed to bring out the phone but all I could see was darkness I lay there fighting for my life. ''Dad... I told her the truth, but she has no feelings for me like I taught. I don't blame her. I'm coming to meet you soon dad.'' I kept talking until I felt no more pain everything was calm now but cold so cold. I had to stop fighting. . . . . Episode 30 . . . . I blinked my eyes a few time as I opened my eyes the light was reflecting on my eyes. ''Where am I? my throte was so sore and dried. then I remembered. Could I be dead already? Then I looked round hospital? My eyes kept darting from one end to another. No it can't be, someone was resting on the bed. I didn't have to see the face to know that was Tania. I must me really dead then if this was actually Tania. Same person that wanted me dead. plucking out the stuff on my nostril that was now obstructing my breath. looked like I was on oxygen. it fell on her while she jumped up. She stood starring at me for what seem like forever, then she started sobbing. I'm sure she has been crying her eyes where swollen. But still she didn't say anything. while I just lay there starring at her looking confused. I closed my eyes and opened it just to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. Then the door opened and doctor walker came in. He too joined in the confused look. This must be the mute side of heaven then I thought. ''Did you take that off'' he asked gesturing at the stuff I removed from my nostril since I wasn't talking I'm guessing he thought I was still unconscious.She waved her head ''how ... Are you doing?'' He asked more like he wasn't sure I was awake. I looked from Tania to him not saying a word. Then lily and then pretty, mum, Nifemi, and folake came in all at once. Okay I'm dead I said to myself this could be some last respect or whatever. ''Its a miracle'' doctor walker exclaimed. ''He is awake'' they all chorused almost at the same time. I looked from the doctor this time to each and everyone of them as they stood starring in amazement. ''was I dead'' I asked breaking the silent though my voice was barely heard. Tania was crying out loud this time. then I saw that she was handcuffed. While Folake took her out. ''Do you mind explaining what is happening here?'' I made to stand up then I got another shoker. my legs were glued to the bed, it was like they were not a part of me anymore because I couldn't feel them. ''We were about giving up on you, it has been two weeks already you have been in coma. And there was every possibility that you wouldn't make it.'' Doctor walker explained. ''I can't move my legs'' I said ''That is as a result of the poison you took in. we tried our best to flush your system when you were rushed in, you were half dead already. your system were all shutting down. its a miracle that you made it out alive, a miracle'' he said again breathing out. Taking off his glass and wiping the tears on his eyes. Mum sat down holding my hand she was humming while tears were dripping from her eyes to my hand pretty and lily were clinging to Nifemi as they all shed tears. ''I will leave you with your family'' doctor walker said excusing himself from the ward as quickly so he won't get caught up in their contagious cry. I scaled through this again but in a bizzered way. Doctor made it clear that I would never be able to walk again except by miracle. Two weeks and everything has changed sam was arrested leo had led them to him after they dumped me under the bridge to die. A good Samarita had saw them dump me and informed the police and that was how they were caught. ******** Two months later, I got to talk to sam, and taiwo and then anna for the last time before they finally faced judgement. Taiwo had apologized, even though he did want me dead he still remained my best friend. Anna on her own was still stubborn seeing me on the wheelchair she was dancing as she cursed. But sam, we had a really long talk, his reason for all this amounted to the fact that he envied me right from time so when anna came running to him for help he didn't hesitate and also when leo found out that I was the one that raped Tania and not him, he had also asked for help which he also granted as he was the boss they all worshiped. I couldn't believe how I ended up having theses set of people as friends. Maybe this was the price I had to pay. sam was sentenced to life imprisonment for attempted murder and kidnap with hard labour. while Taiwo was sentenced to seven years imprisonment Tania suffered same fate at sam and the two nurses. Leo was shot dead the same night I was poisoned when he tried escaping after killing a police man. ******** It wasn't easy to live as a cripple, when I wasn't born as one. Sure I had my girls with me they gave me so much joy. It was funny how the mistake I made about eleven years ago has bring joy to me at the end. Its a miracle... Isn't it? I know you will be wondering where Tania is, if she is dead or serving a jail sentence. Well.... I dropped all charges against her. I couldn't bear to see her suffer for what my actions lured her into. She had thought that the substance leo gave her was just to make me sleep only it turned out to be poison. Leo was just obsessed over her just like anna was over me. he wanted her all to himself. Seeing that the truth was not enough for her to hate me, he had planned something else. She left after that not even when I asked her to stay. Who would marry a cripple anyways. She left, Leaving the girls behide ******** Its been two months already. and in a few hours, my girls will turn eleven. I worry only about lily she is so attach to her mother. I wanted to make her happy. I wanted Tania to be around to wish them a happy birthday. or was it because I missed her? I find myself glue to my desktop every morning, just to read her email. she made it a routine to send an email every morning. though I never replied any of them until three days ago. Mum had made arrangement for their birthday already, she was so excited about it. I kept checking the time ten thirty, eleven thirty, and then it was 'twelve.' I turned on my home theater increasing the volume till it was full blast. That was the only way I get their attention since I couldn't walk. And in a second they came running in like they were never sleeping. ''Happy birthday to you... ''i sang in off tone as mum and Nifemi came in and joined me adding flavour to it. ''I love you papa'' they both chorused hugging and feeling me with kisses mum and Nifemi brought the cake on each was written happy birthday lily and pretty. We were happy but something was missing I put on an induced smile. While they were about blowing the candle. ''Wait won't you make a wish?'' I asked ''Wishes don't come through papa'' lily said ''It might come true this time'' I said ''Then I wish mama will be here today'' then she blew the candles off ''You don't say it out loud'' pretty said ''It won't work that way idiot.'' she cursed. ''Too late'' lily replied blowing off pretty's candle and there was chaos as they both fought over nothing in particular it was fun watching them. They ended up sleeping on my bed while I sat on the wheelchair watching them sleep. ******** . . . ¤¤¤¤¤ Final episode . . . . The party was one of a kind, it was like a surprise party for me. team lighthouse came, with lot of dancing the girls had fun I never saw lily so happy like she was today. It gave me so much joy to see them dance, play games which they involve me in, like making me the clown on the boucy castle while we took lots of pictures. The party was long over the girls were tired but mum had insisted they put things in other before they sleep. I kept waiting for the door bell to ring or for someone to open the door. its eight pm already for some reasons I was worried. What if something had happened to her? she should be in here by now. I told mum to take me to my room. She noticed how worried I was ''Everything will be okay'' she said smiling. '' Are they sleeping?'' I asked ''Yes they are with Nifemi they slept off why opening their gifts.''I nodded before she left. As she left my worry turned into anger as I clenched my fist fighting the tears that were threating to gush out soon. It was like a knife was pierced through my heart. I dragged myself to my bed laying down on my back. I closed my eyes. Then I heard a knock. I thought mum said they were sleeping already only lily knock like that like she was afraid to hit the door. ''Come in'' I said but for close to a minute the door was not opened ''Lily come in'' I shouted maybe she didn't hear me then the door opened and then slowly she walked in with mum behide her. It was Tania she stood starring at her toes like some kid that was caught stealing candy. ''I will leave you two to talk'' mama said pushing her forward then going out she shut the door. She stood there still starring at whatever it was she was on the floor or her toes. She didn't say a word I also didn't say a word. Like we were playing ''say uncle'' I use to play with Nifemi when she was still young I will hold her both hand backward till she agree to whatever I wanted her to do, or say. I was still angry even though she was here now so much for acting already. ''Hi'' I said struggling to drag myself up so I can sit instead on lying down. ''are you disappointed that I'm still crippled?'' I laughted as I finally sat up resting my back on the bed locker. ''the kids are sleeping already there are lots of guest rooms you can go and have a nice rest So...'' ''Stop tormenting me'' she shouted dropping her hand bag on the floor. ''For the past two months I have tried to reach you,.. I send you email upon email everyday... Do you know how I managed to cope without my kids?... I missed them so much but I couldn't call. even when I did call pretty, she refuse to pick or she hang up as soon as she find out that I was the one calling.'' ''Well.. how is that my fault?'' I shut back ''Whose fault is it then? Mine?'' ''how can she talk to you when you almost killed me for your own stupid reasons?'' ''If you hadn't r##### me I wouldn't have done that'' she fired back bitterly. ''Then you never have been a mother of two princess'' I said. I laughed again and again until I couldn't control it anymore she also joined me. While she came and sat on the side of the bed. ''I'm sorry.... I'm so sorry... I just can't forgive myself'' she was crying ''I knew better that leo was bad news but I wanted revenge. I don't deserve your forgiveness, pretty would probably hate me forever. I.... I....'' I wanted so much to hug her and tell her that she doesn't have to beg for forgiveness but I didn't. instead I kept quite and watched her hands akimbo as she cried like a baby. ''I was so stupid. even when I knew that I am madly, foolishly and totally inlove with you. I still went ahead with the stupid plan.'' I couldn't help but smile as she professed her love for me for the first time. she kept talking while I was trying hard to restrain myself from the crazy huge I was feeling as I stare at her lips. ''I'm not mad at you'' I said breathing in and then out. Then she paused looking at me but I looked away my heart was beating fast. Only when I thought I had overcome the huge she suddenly placed her hand on my face while I turned to look at her her she locked her lips on mine. I moan as I tasted the sweet flavor of her lips. for what seems like forever she kissed me passionately chewing on my lips until they started hurting. And like she had came to her senses she quickly stood up. ''Omg... I'm so sorry'' she said grabbing her bag from the floor and heading for the door. ''Why? Is it because I'm a cripple'' ''Stop sayin that'' she said turning to face me ''Then while will you kiss me and say you are sorry? Just a few seconds ago you said you love me and now?'' ''You don't seem to care. I look in your eyes and I see.... I don't know... Do you still love me like before?'' Now that was the issue, how could she not see how much I love her. ''I still love you, more than ever and I have missed you so much'' ''Then why didn't you reply my emails? You don't know how much it hurts. I almost died of heartache.'' ''Come here'' I said she came back and sat down again on the bed. ''I know this is hard, we have been through a lot already. I don't want you to make any decisions because you want to make me happy.'' ''I'm not.. I want to stay now... I can't... I don't want to leave please love me like befor.'' I smiled broadly taking her both hands ******** It cost me my both legs, I lost my dad, a near death experience not once not twice, selective mutism, just to mention but a few. But at the end I still got what I wanted then. The same girl I violated. many of you might say it ended like the faretale a happy ending indeed. how about you put yourself in my shoes? Have you ever thought about the pain and stigma she will suffer just because of two minutes pleasure? What if she turns out to be your sister? What is you find out on day that you were conceived when some strange guy violated your mum? I used love as an excuse, yours might be lust I escaped death, you might not even live to tell the story. You might think that no one will find out so you drug her. Remember that one day, you will face judgment. Stop violating our young innocent girls!! . . . . The end.
