Job Title: Marketing Manager
– West Africa
Job Description
The successful candidate will
report to the Classifieds West
Africa Country Manager and
will be responsible for
developing and
implementing Nigeria’s
Classifieds marketing
strategies, assist with
defining existing products
and services as well as
seeking opportunities for
new ones to meet revenue
and earnings targets. Your
primary responsibilities as
the Marketing Manager will
be to develop and execute
the marketing strategy for
the Classifieds business in
Nigeria.
JOB OUTPUTS/
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for developing
strategic marketing plans
with both a short-term and
long term goals with
measurable outcomes.
• Responsible for executing
marketing efforts to gain
new Nigeria classifieds users
and grow current loyal base
of existing buyers and
sellers.
• Plans and develops above
the line (including TV, radio
and outdoor) and digital
marketing outreach
programs.
• Analyze customer
response to marketing
programs.
• Serve as marketing contact
for employees and strategic
business partners.
• Deploy and measures
effectiveness of all marketing
campaigns and activities.
• Track market trends,
analyzes results and draw
conclusions about
performance in order to
recommend improvements
to marketing strategies and
tactics.
• Support the Classifieds
Category Managers in
meeting performance
targets.
• Serve as subject matter
expert and provide guidance
to the Classifieds team
members as required.
• Assists in development and
meeting of budgets.
• Track and manage
marketing expenses in order
to ensure that they are
within budget parameters.
• Manage marketing
promotions and event
marketing and coordinate
with the Classifieds Nigeria
team members.
• Develop and maintain
demographic and other
market data as needed in
order to support marketing
goals.
• Gather and communicate
marketing campaign
information and user
feedback in order to
promote a common
understanding of marketing
campaigns, changes, and
issues.
• Create reporting to
measure success of
marketing programs.
• Develop new ideas and
communicate potential uses
for analytics across the
business
• Other duties and
responsibilities as assigned.
• Consistent exercise of
independent judgment and
discretion in matters of
significance.
• Regular, consistent and
punctual attendance. Must
be able to work nights and
weekends, variable schedule
(s) as necessary.
• International and local
travel as deemed necessary
to perform duties.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND
EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors in marketing,
advertising, or related field /
Masters degree or equivalent
in marketing
• 5-10 years marketing
experience with a
demonstrated track record
for successfully bringing
products to market and
growing market share
• Substantial experience
with above the line
marketing with a major
brand (e.g. FMCG, Telco)
• Thorough understanding
of the Nigerian market and
drivers of user engagement
• Strong analytical thinking
skills and a passion for
translating quantitative and
qualitative data into user
insights.
• Online experience,
preferably with international
exposure
• Highly creative and
innovative in thinking
through marketing
challenges
• Exceptional interpersonal
and communications skills
(verbal/written) as pertains
to interacting with the team
and in effective product
positioning
• Established network of
marketing vendors
• Innovative out of the box
skills
• Highly organized team
player
• Cognate experience in a
classfied ads company will
be an advantage.
