Neymar has revealed that he is still proud of his
Paris Saint-Germain teammates despite their
Champions League elimination.
Neymar defended the efforts of his teammates,
as the injured star watched from the sidelines
as PSG were knocked out of the Champions
League by Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The Brazilian, who is recovering from surgery on
his fractured foot, watched helplessly as his side
crashed to a 5-2 aggregate defeat after losing
the second leg 2-1 at the Parc des Princes.
The Parisians, who ended the game with 10-men
after Marco Verratti was sent off in the second
half, undoubtedly missed Neymar in the second
leg.
The former Barcelona man wrote on Twitter: ‘I
am sad for defeat, much sadder for not being in
the field helping my companions!!
‘What makes me proud is to see everyone’s
effort. Congratulations my guys, ALLEZ PARIS.’
The Ligue 1 leaders will now have to turn their
attention back to domestic competitions as
European success eludes them once again.
