The Super Eagles of Nigeria will
face Amavubi of Rwanda in
Group A of the 2015 AFCON
qualifiers after the Rwandans
defeated Congo 4-3 on penalties,
booking their place in the next
round of the qualifiers. Rwanda
turned a 2-0 first leg deficit to
beat the Congolese team on
penalties. Michel Ndahinduka and
Meddie Kagere both scored in
the 55th and 60th minute
respectively to level the series 2-2
on aggregate. The team then
went on to triumph 4-3 on
penalties to book a date with the
Super Eagles on September 5 or
6.
Nigeria was drawn in Group A to
play South Africa, Sudan and the
winner between Rwanda and
Congo in the 2015 AFCON
Qualifiers. The Super Eagles are
the reigning African Champions
and will be hoping for a good
run in the qualifiers to defend
their crown in Morocco.
