SSANU protests since Monday has paralysed all
activities in FUNAAB,the campus remains deserted
as other staffers including lecturers and NASU
members abandoned their offices due to the
centrality of the functions performed by senior non-
teaching staff of funaab. Owing to the total shut
down of operations, salaries of staff which has been
released from abuja since tuesday cannot be
uploaded by the bursary staff,economic hardship is
already setting in as there has been no processing
or payment of any money all through the week.
Worst to be hit are the students who are already
incapacitated to pay the mandatory surcharge fee of
N5,000,even if the students succeed in paying the
fee online,the University's ICTREC manned by
senior non teaching staff will not be able to generate
receipts and confirmation in which students would
not be allowed to resume lectures.
SSANU is presently on work-to-rule action which
they have vowed will continue until the VC is
removed from office and also the recall of the trio of
comrade salam,somoye and bankole who were the
whistle blowers who petitioned the EFCC.
Meanwhile, today is the VC's 61st birthday which
SSANU members celebrated at motion ground with
a loaf of bread and a bottle of coke wrapped and
sent to the VC
