EPISODE 1 "All hands on deck, code alpha alpha delta, all personnels report to the conference hall immediately without delay.... Failure to comply lands you in the guard room." it was the sectional commander {SCC} of my company that was blaring through the alert system. I turn to look at the time , it was 1am, what a fuck, why can't these people let us have enough rest. It was just 11.30pm that we were all retired from tattoo ,we were told to go and have some Rest. I just ran my hands across my bare head shaved clean with razor blade. Some times this shit always happen and i don't give a fuck to any SCC or CC, like a man high on weed, i just walk out of my hostel in the training camp to the conference hall........... . . . . . . "Lucky i hear say the RAN 1st batch recruitment don reach corne o". Ema broke out with happy glee. "Guy you seriouse?" i ask him amid doubt, "yes na", he reply . "How about the form?" "E don show o", he brought out his own application form and showed me. "How much for the form?" I manage to ask am. "1.5k", "ok, na bro later things na" . I told him , and left. "Make me go grab my own form before i lost the chance". Joining the paramilitary has become one of my greatest ambition. What motivated me most was the day that i was coming from some where, it was 6pm but i didn't notice so i drove my bike pass for the RAN check point. Nai one RAN soldier come stop me give me frog jump. By the time i finish, i no even feel my legs again chai, nai i come vex leap climb my bike. Nai i come shout "officer make God punish you there" nai i try to start the bike but e no won start, chai see devil handiwork. As i turn look back i come see the paramilitary guy dey come, omg i don buy big wahala...na so all my body dey shake and sweat as the guy dey approach me with koboko. Episode 2 loading............

E no answer me , e just look me with e eyes , chai na real wahala i buy , my james bonds {father} go dey look for me by now. Na only boxer i wear. Nai i come ask am again "aboki for your town ona dey chop human being?" The next sound i hear na gbozaaaaaa!! Chai baba God i don die, chai my yansh, my yansh o, just then e come light the fire...i come start to smell roasted goat........... Episode 3 loading...............

EPISODE 3 OMG so na my body come dey scent like goat meat? Chai i don suffer, see heat and pain plus sweat. Na later like about 20minutes nai the guy come back come carry full bucket of cold water pour me come untie me. Later the following day dem come release me. From that day onward, i was like "if i no join that paramilitary , make i die." # # # # # # just as i reach the nearest RAN zonal command for my area, i just apply for recruitment form. Purchase the form. The following week screening don start. We were first given exam papers . The first subject was C. R. S, hmmmm it was to test our biblical knowladge, after all the paramilitary was founded by church , that must be the reason. After the exam consisting 10 subjects, the examination came to an end. Thank God that i did well. I met my james bonds for some financial assistance but the guy dey prove "i no go give you" even the undertaken form self self , e no gree sign am , na my mother sign am for me. I was like a fucking shit, cause i will pay this man back. I did some menial job to raise some money. After which my mum gave me 5k couple with the 3k that i did hustle. My junior sister come add 1k wey been dey her hand. Chai God bless her o, cause if na some sis dem go still want make you give dem money not the other way round. As we dey go nai my friend ema come dash me 1k add. {ema self pass the screening so e been dey prepare but e get cash pass me} . Now all the money wey come dey my hand na .10k, we go to the zonal headquaters that sunday afternoon, before hand, dem been don give us list of wetin to buy. By the time i come buy all the required items finish, na just 3k remain for my hand. Those that passed the examination were qualified for the screening exercise. At the end of the screening exercise which lasted for one week, it was time for the almighty recruitment camping . . Early that monday morning we file enter the bus , now na direct to the regional training ground. As soon as we dey reach , there was a very big sign board with the inscription "SEVEN DAYS TO MAKE A MAN, THIS IS IT BOYS, NO GOING BACK". I closed my eyes and thank God for journey mercies, when suddenly the vehicle came to a hault, it now dawn on me that it was finally time to disembark from the bus.. Episode 4 loading..........

EPISODE 4 we all came down from the bus on a very straight single line, no body even dare to push, say you dey mad? Cause na your body go tell you. After that, we all formed a straight serial line, we later turned right therefore changing the serial formation to singular formation. We started marching towards the gate, on nearing the gate, our bags were thoroughly searched for any kind of weapon. After the search,we were told to go on frog jump from the gate into the training camp with our bags on our heads. "oya jump, frog jump, jump, if you stop you will regret coming here, oya you apes keep jumping like frogs!", the DC was yelling out. Thank God say i carry small luggage. So my own load no too heavy na. But when i turn look ema, hmmm i come dey pity am, as if na me send am to park as if e dey migrate from naija. We frog jump covering a distance of 200 yards. Chai omo na my neck and spine tell me something. I no talk any thing cause i know say we're in for more pepper soup.that was the genesis of our sorrow. When we reach the field na there dem tell us sit down for ground. We were later called by our batch, when it got to my batch, our ZC accompanied us to the Registration zone. When we got there, the A. O {admission officer} asked us to yansh down, which also means sit down. We all sat down no the base floor, including our ZC. He was writting our names and recording our credentials at the same time. Finally it came to the guy who was standing before me. "whats your name?" the AO queried "paul Ade" the guy was shaking while answering , the officer noticed it "paul you be thief?" "no sir" "you sure"? " "if you no be thief why you won come join us"?........fast forward........ Soon it was my turn. After the registration, as we were going, paul come fuck up for road nai dem pin am down give am some fucking flogging. We come go change wear, our navy blue short with white t shirt and canvas to match. We were led to the back of the compound were a stinking mouldy water was. You can even see maggot swimming inside. I was still staring when i heard "oya all me you jump in and side ways roll" omg! I was like a "what did you just say?" episode 5 loading........

OUR COMMANDER CAME IN AND WE ALL STOOD ON OUR FEET TO ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PRESENCE. WE WERE TOLD TO SIT DOWN, THE SPEECH LASTED FOR 1HOUR BEFORE WE WERE DISMISSED. STILL WITH THE STINKY BODY AND CLOTHES WE STARTED LOOKING FOR WERE TO FETCH WATER, GUY ME TELL ONA SAY WATER SCARCE DIE. THE SHOWER FOR OUR HOSTEL, OUR HUC DEM FINISH WATER FOR THE TAP. EPISODE 7 OMG! Na the kind food man pikin wan yank sleep be this? As i turn look the slave, wetin dey stare at me from the plate na one handful of garri {the dry grain ones}, two piece of cabin biscuit and one cube of sugar. "oya all of you fuck down your heads and start eating your food" C. P thundered. But no body answer. Just then one man decide to decline the food. If was asked to pin down his head. I just zero my mind start to eat the damn food. First i chew the garri follow by the biscuit then lastly the sugar. We were given 1minute to finish the food. Under 30 seconds i was through with mine...i just rush go submit my plate. Some people add water drinck drink their own but dem no know say dem dey buy more wahala. After drinking the garri, some of then use dirty water rinse while some use clean water. Just then. The "sedadababababababababababababab" come start o cause the commander come tell those wey drink am to drink the water wey dem use rinse their plates. Chai omo see gobe na. This na wetin we call fuck up. Na those people wey use dirty water rinse their plates i pity cause dem drink am. Throughout that night peoply vomit and porch so tale...........fast forward. After the eating exercise, we all marched to our respective hostels cause the night was far spent. By now it was 12.30am. As soon as i enter our room, i just climb the concret ward robe before one go say jack robinson, i don reach far for dream land. The suffering continues......... Episode 8 loading .......

EPISODE 8 DAY 2: The next morning i woke up around 5.30am {ona self go understand na say man been really tire} rather than 4am. Today we'll be distribute to our various platoons and sections accordingly. And also training will commence fully today.......and na today we go smell our anus, thats the standard sha {laughs}. Backwards.............just as i dey wonder were all my room mates dem go, just then i come remember . Chai omg, i don finish. Just as i come down grab my boot wan wear nai i come see a squade of provost {paramilitary police} dey come. Without waiting for a further warning nai i just dive enter inside the room, come close the door {but i no bolt am} climb my wardrobe bed, use the spider style dem teach us earlier gum the ceiling. Just then , dem come show for the room my heart fly commot once. Chai omo i don die na wetin make i sleep excess na, i was in a deep thought when other 4 squades of provost dem also show, come scatter themselves comb through our hostel. Before i forget, i never mention the platoon and section i been dey under and ona no bother to ask ona bad o. {laughs} i was in c-coy {charlie company} section 2 under platoon 5 {we have total of 10 platoons and each platoons consist of 5 sections and each sections consist of 4 companies popularly known as coy <singular> coys <plural> } each coy consist of 15 persons, if you're a good mathematician then you'll get the total number of recruits in the training camp. And before i forgot, the training camp was hosted at emarid collage near choba in port-harcourt city. Enough of the fucking introduction/description. Lets go back to the shit am already in {laughs}. I was still thinking of what to do when the camp commander himself walked into our hostel. Chai i don finish. "R. P, have you check this room properly?" he thundered "yes sir" the R. P replied him. "i see, someone is still in this room" the Camp don replied the provost boldly. I was like a what? Chai my own don finish, wetin i go tell dem if dem see me..........chai i don finish. Just the 5 provost dem storm our room, and searching commenced....... Episode 9 loading

Episode 9 dem start to search and search and search but dem no still see me. Nai dem come contact the camp don, just then, the camp don request for their assistance, nai dem leave my room, all the provost wey been dey for the passage dem enter inside the compound. Our own room na room 2, and na for the passage e dey. As soon as dem commot, i no wait for 1 sec o, i just come down from the bed. {as if , if na ona, ona for no take the opportunity? Laughs} come peep through the passage, passage clear, nai i put on my adidas white canvas, bro before one go say jack robinson, hmmm i don tear race, dem hear when i run , i guess them dey come for my back cause i hear chasing sounds behind me. Nai i double my already speeding engine from gear level 8 to gear level 15. I tell ona say i even break usain bolt's record. I outrun dem come take quick turn on reaching a sharp bend which was on the junction, {right leads to the conference hall and kitchen, left leads to commanders quaterz and front leads to the field and recreational quaterz, thank God say flowers dey there, nai i come dive under . Just then , 10 provost zoom pass. Pheeeew, i clean sweat from my face. So na only me 10 provost dey chase like thief na wa o. Nai i come out from my hideout run go the conference hall, on reaching nai the door keeper tell me to lie down he come tear 5 lashes of koboko for my yansh. . Atleast e better pass when those provost for catch me. Cause i know say na guard room direct dem go match me to. And guard room na one of the place i no wan go. As soon as e flog me finish e come tell me to run inside to which i obey. I run inside join my roommates without anyone noticing it. At was just like 15 minutes later when the camp commander come enter announce say dem come fetch some people. I mean those people wey dem been dey chase wey try escape. Chai na so my mind fly cause i know say dem go catch me this time around. No way to escape from this particular saga. Chai am doom. Episode 10 loading

~*~*~EPISODE 10~*~*~ As soon as e finish talking na so searching start. From platoon 1, dem arrange out 25 recruits, same goes to platoon 2, but platoon 3 no get any casualty sha. When e reach platoon 4, dem march out 40, when e reach platoon 5 dem no fit mail anybody so dem tell us to pin down our heads. When e come reach platoon 10 omo dem march out 300 people . {guy i say dem march out all platoon 10} . Cause dem first distribute us before the punishment come start. For my platoon, my section nai be worry pass. We later elected coy leaders, section leaders, platoon leaders and a joint platoon leader. I was elected a section leader. So i was section 2 leader. So i was incharge of 4 coys. ...........backwards.........later dem come march all platoon 5 out to the drilling field. By now it was quater to 6am. Non of my boys dey fuck up o, cause if one person fuck us , all the whole section if possible the whole platoon fit see shit. So if any body for my section fuck up do make dem punish us, when we go back to our hostel, that person dey see fire, so dem no dey fuck up . {i say oga sweet die o, laughs} we jug , run, flex, and do all kinds of physical exercises, then went into the next schedule which was lecture. Sha i was among the land combatants so our class was fun. After training , it was 12am that a whistle for our breakfast was blown {as dey call it o, since na our morning food be that. Na their wahala be that so na only dem know how to handle am, laughs} after eating garri wey dey like 50naira fufu for this buhari change saga, we all went to have a nap, at 4 drills start again. Na till 7pm after we close from drill, nai actor and boss won start. NAI PLATOON 10 LEADER COME VEX POUR E BEANS SOON ALL PLATOON 10 MEMBERS COME FOLLOW SUIT. AFTER THE ACT, DEM WON MARCH ENTER KITCHEN NA THEIR WEY PLATOON 7 DEM COME BLOCK DEM. {platoon 7 dem been really support the camp don} OMO NA SO PLATES OF BEANS COME DEY FLYING FOR AIR, SEE KATAKATA NA, FOOD WEY MAN WON EAT NAI DEM DEY WASTE LIKE THAT? EPISODE 13 All platoon 5 we come march go our hostel. Wen we reach nai we come open cooler, oboy see better garri and soup na. Nai we come start to share the food , within minutes every body don finish na we eat am quick come wash the coolers. Nai my platoon leader come tell us the section leaders to return the coolers. We come return the cooler hide enter kitchen drop am fine our level commot. Platoon 10 and 7 dem still dey carry out their fracart. Na dem know wetin be their problem o so e no concern me. Cause i know say na tomorow dem go stop to call us recruits. When we'll be address as soldiers , yes o, but that will be after the almighty jungle survival trainng. And that training not every one that go comes back as they went {if you survive o, but if you no survive then na story that touches go reach ur family} Already the battalion don been done give us details of what we're expected to put on and not to put on. So i was fully prepared. Soon i was back on my mattress, i kept on thinking about the day ahead. Just then the thoughts of what will be the fate of platoon 10 and 7 tomorow.
