Ugochukwu where have you been? I've been looking for you. I giggled, as I remembered how papa panicked at the sight of terror.
I woke up that morning feeling tired and stressed out. This holiday couldn't be any worst. Since I came back it has been from one work to the other. Why don't you just run? Then who would pay your school fee? I battled with my subconscious....
I got out of bed; to our shop. Noticed people where in groups talking and whispering in low tone. Strange, but what's my business if that's how they want to start there day. Halfway arranging our goods dad rushed in, fear written allover his face. "What's the problem?" I asked... "It has happened". He said... I kept quiet for him to continue but he never did. "What?" I asked irritated. he sure knows how to get on my nerves.
This village had a fierce battle sometime in the past, with one barange community, and there was this rumor that they would be back for revenge. This morning the villagers said they heard multiple gun sho.... He was still trying to explain when we heard another round of shots.... We left our goods outside; joined the villagers to run for our dear life.
To our surprise when we went back nothing happened. "Na children they play knockout" one elderly man told us when we enquired. That was when it occurred to us that it's actually December period.
Ugochukwu! An angry voice jolted me back to reality. What's wrong with you? I've been standing here for the past 10minutes and you are there talking jibrish. I...em I...em I stuttered. Save yourself the explanations, pack your stuffs we are leaving. The villagers said the heard multiple gun shots this morning.
