The Perfect Turn
As the bus stopped moving, you were afraid yet determined to do. You believed if was the right thing to. You've stayed locket up in your room for one whole week drafting that plan.
'It would be on a Sunday morning....' You said aloud, not minding if anyone heard you. Not as if there was anyone to hear you anyway.
'You hope someone will be around that morning... Not to save you. In fact, you secretly wished he had no one to give his phone.
You came down from the bus and was walking across Lagos bridge. You steered at the water flowing freely. the unusual calm breeze blew across your face, you cursed aloud as you remembered that morning.
It was was barely a month you got that job; got to work that faithful morning, and was summoned by your boss before you could step into your office.
Got to his office, stood five minutes that seemed unending only to be served with a sack letter.
After glancing through it tried all you could to explain the reason why the money he accused you of stealing was not there, but got cold stare instead.
You hurriedly went home; slammed the door as if that's the cause of all your troubles. You drank whatever your eyes came across.
Pamela your next-door neighbor sensing that there was trouble came there to inquire. Immediately she stepped in the stench of alcohol greeted her. Then she saw you about to get drunk to stupor.... She smirked. 'This is my only chance and I have to size the moment..' She thought to herself and chuckled...
You gave in to Pamela's charm after little resistance, at least to clear your head. You were still trying to pull off the panties when your wife and daughter badge in on you ................ You cursed as you remembered your wife's expression, disappointment written allover her face. The trust, the loyalty; you had let her down, the shame didn't allow you stare at her face. You opened your mouth to speak, you wanted to say a hundred words at a time but nothing came out.
The hunk of a car jilted you back from the realm of thoughts....
Meanwhile, your wife after much counseling from her mother decided to forgive you.
She called your number, but was surprised when someone else picked the call.... She was dead struck when that person spoke "madam, person way get this phone don jump enter Lagos lagoon, I for save am but nobody to hold my phone for me"......Those were his exact words.
The moment your wife dropped her phone ready to cry out her heart through her eyes.
Your ex girlfriend left her village shrine.
