A white SUV Range Over run through the busy road of Lagos at a high speed, some passersby throw abuses on the driver but unfortunately for them the driver can't hear them or care more, Nathaniel decrease his speed so he can answer an incoming call, he pick his cell phone from the passenger sit, on the phone screen the name Michael is seen, Michael is his best friend and also his flat mate both study at The University of Lagos( Unilag) Michael is a 300L engineering student while Nathaniel is a 400L Medical student, both met few years ago and have remained friends ever since, Michael wasn't from a wealthy home but never lack anything because of Nathaniel and Michael will always be grateful for that. NATHANIEL What's up guy MICHAEL Where the hell are you off to men, you didn't even wait for me. NATHANIEL Sorry, had a call from my mum, so I had to run, but will be back tomorrow morning. MICHAEL No pros, we see tomorrow then NATHANIEL Sure The call ended and Nathaniel focus on his driving, Nathaniel has received a call from his mum Mrs Williams that afternoon, she sounded serious and wanted to see her, luckily for him it just some few hours from his school to his house. He stop the car when he arrive at his house, he horn and the gate was immediately opened for him, he drove in and parked his car among the cars that was already there, he came down from the car, the cold wind of the evening met with his face, he walked to the door and places his right hand on the little screen that is place at the right side of the door and immediately the door opened, he walk in. NATHANIEL Mum, mum He started to ascend the stair, he already knew where his mother will be, since she is not seen at the garden or the sitting room, he immediately knock when he arrived at his parents bedroom, MRS WILLIAMS Come in Just as he has thought, he opened the down and walk in, Mrs Williams was sitting on the bed, a big smile came on Nathaniel face as he approaches his mum. NATHANIEL Good evening mum MRS WILLIAMS How are you my baby They engage in a warm embrace. MRS WILLIAMS Missed you my baby They disengage and Nathaniel sit on the bed close to his mother. NATHANIEL Mum, we talk almost every seconds, and yet you always miss me. MRS WILLIAMS Your presence is different from your voice you know NATHANIEL Fine you win, hope all is well because you sounded serious on the phone A bright smile appears on her face MRS WILLIAMS It nothing really just a little present and surprise. NATHANIEL Mum you know I hate surprises MRS WILLIAMS This you will love, go to your room and see for yourself, your favorite room. NATHANIEL Mum. MRS WILLIAMS Go on, I will be waiting here. Nathaniel did as his mother requested, he went to his favorite room which is now occupied by Natasha, he opened the door and went in, every where was the same just for the little bag and some female clothes on the bed, this got his really surprised and angry, who will have the guts to enter his sister room. Natasha was inside the bathroom, she have had her bath few hours ago, she was in the bathroom to fits some of her things at their right places, she heard the door of her room opened, she thought it was her mum, after about few second without hearing her voice she went out and met someone else there, she immediately knew who he was. Nathaniel was stud to see a beautiful girl standing before him but his angry wouldn't allowed him to notice the resemblance. NATHANIEL Who are you, and why are you in my sister's room. Nathaniel was waiting impatiently for an answer but received a hug instead, Natasha hugged him so tight that she couldn't let go, Nathaniel was shocked to the bone, he felt her crying and this weaken him more. NATASHA I have missed you so much big brother. The word big brother came echoing in his head, is he dreaming or what, is she really his sister. NATHANIEL What are you trying to do. Natasha was confused with the question, she released her hold on him. NATASHA Don't get Nathaniel move away from her, Natasha could see the confusion in his eyes but why was the question that needs answers NATHANIEL Mum mum, can you come and tell me what is happening here. With this he walked out of the room heading to his mother's room ,he needs explanation and he is getting one, Natasha wanted to say something but just didn't know what to say, she was confused about the reaction of his brother, what is going on and why is he behaving this way. Mrs Williams was still in her room, as soon as Nathaniel left her few minutes ago she has been a little restless, she has been tossing round her room trying to make up an understanding excuse to Nathaniel and Natasha, mostly Nathaniel who went through a lot when he heard the news, she prayed in her heart for her husband Mr Williams to come home early just as he have promise when she called him earlier. Mrs Williams was still in her thought when she heard her name, she knew then that Nathaniel was heading to her room and just as she thought her door swing open revealing Nathaniel. NATHANIEL Mum, who is she, and why is she calling herself my sister, what is happening here. MRS WILLIAMS Nath, can you calm down, you are raising your voice. NATHANIEL Mum, please don't do this right now, what is happening MRS WILLIAMS Nath, it is a long story and.... MR WILLIAMS Nath. Mrs Williams was interrupted by mr Williams, she immediately did the sign of the cross, thanking God for the intervention of her husband. NATHANIEL Dad Mr Williams who has been standing at the door step into the room shutting the down behind him MR WILLIAMS Take a sit boy Nathaniel immediately did as he was told, mr and mrs Williams also took their sit, the room was a missive bedroom divided into two part the bed area and a little space use as a sitting room. MR WILLIAMS Where is Natasha MRS WILLIAMS In her room MR WILLIAMS Good it will be better if she doesn't listen to our conversation NATHANIEL Dad, mum, what is happening, I know I heard you both right that day, your words was clear. Natasha and Nathaniel fell asleep in both arms, the next morning Nathaniel woke up early because he had to prepare for the tourney to his school, he didn't want to leave but he have am important test to do that morning and he won't dare to miss it, he lay Natasha carefully on the bed because he won't want her to wake up, he kissed her good bye and left, after taking his bath and greeted his parents he set out of the house and started his journey to school, but he will definitely come home very soon once all his tests are done, he has earlier left his phone number that he wrote down close to Natasha bed, he hope to hear from her soon. Natasha woke up later, feeling she was alone she went to the bathroom thinking Nathaniel was there but when she couldn't see him there she went to her parents room, she knock at the down. MRS WILLIAMS Yes come in Natasha open the down and went in, Mrs Williams was on her dressing mirror, she was applying some makeup on her face. NATASHA Good morning mum MRS WILLIAMS Good morning my darling, how was your night She was still facing the mirror, Natasha walk to her giving her a peck on her cheek. NATASHA My night was wonderful. Mr and mrs Williams finally returned from Germany, they didn't observe anything out of the ordinary because Nathaniel left immediately they arrived giving the excuse that he have an important text to write that day which was a lie. Nathaniel has been trying hard to get to his sister Natasha but Natasha never gave him the chance to, he has done all what he knows best to get her attention, nothing more then that but Natasha has refused to talk or see him and it was killing him slowly, Natasha hatred toward his brother what growing stronger by the day and she just couldn't find herself forgiving him even if she wants to, her parents had asked her if they have resolved their differences and she had lied telling them yes, she wanted to tell her mum but later kicked against it, she decided to make it a secret that she even sent a text message to Nathaniel telling him to never say a word to anyone, Nathaniel received the message, he wanted to kick against the idea but didn't, he wouldn't want to make matters worse for now, he would have love to tell his parents, even if it was an hard thing to do it doesn't matter but the truth matters, but now he will just have to hold on till Natasha gives a go ahead. Since Nathaniel came back few days ago Michael has been observing him and he noticed something was off with Nathaniel, he barely eat, he has lost full concentration at school, and most times he is lost in his own thoughts, locking himself indoor almost everyday, he had given Nathaniel few days to himself hoping he could talk about it when he wants but he was running out of patient, he came back from lecture and went straight to Nathaniel room, Nathaniel didn't go to school and he came to find out when a course mate asked about him in school that day, he walked to Nathaniel room and knocked, Nathaniel opened the door after the fourth knock, he opened the door and went to sit on his bed, Michael came in almost immediately. He parked his car front of Natasha's gate, he has been coming to Natasha house for sometimes now but the gate was never open for him, but he didn't stop, after waiting for some time he came out of the car, head to the gate and knocked. SECURITY (Kindly) You again PHILLIP Yes me. SECURITY But I have told you so many times that miss Natasha ordered me not to let you in, and you understand how it is. Nathaniel came back home the next day hoping to speak to Natasha, he had thought about what Michael said and decided to work towards it, he was welcomed home warmly by his parents but Natasha wasn't home, he wasn't sure if he was ready to see Natasha but he had no choice in this, he needs to make this work out the way Michael had told him. He has been indoor since he came, so he decided to go out to receive some fresh air, he walk around the house to fill his eyes a little, he got to the garden and found Natasha there with a tray of fruit juice and a novel in her hands, she was sitting in a wooden chair. Natasha came back few hours ago but she didn't know that Nathaniel was around because her parents wasn't around to tell her, she came out to have some quiet time to herself, Nathaniel stare at Natasha and wonder how beautiful she is, "what was he doing", he quickly put away the stupid thoughts, composed himself and walk to Natasha. NATHANIEL Hey Natasha raise her head to see Nathaniel standing in front of her, she has thought she was hearing things when she first heard his voice but she heard right, she wouldn't tell how she feels that moment but she was so angry. She took her book and left in anger, Nathaniel knew she meant every words she said but that wasn't his problem, he just needs her forgiveness even if that will be the only thing he gets before he dies. NATHANIEL Fine, everything is fine, mum are you alright, is there something you want me to do. MRS WILLIAMS Come on relax. NURSE Doc, the result is out. DOC.MARK Can I have it. The nurse handed the result to the doctor and left, Julie looked at Natasha and gave her an encouraging smile. DOC.MARK What do we have here He began to open the envelop in which the result was put, after that he read the content of the paper he was holding, Natasha heart was beating in hundred degree now as she prays to God in her heart, a warm smile came to doctor Mark face. DOC.MARK Congrats, you are a month and few days pregnant. The world came crashing on Natasha, Julie look at Natasha with a smile but her smile vanished when she saw the tear in Natasha's eyes. THE ABOMINABLE ACT Episode 23 The doctor came on time to recuse Natasha before any harm was done, the doctor has succeeded in reviving Natasha but she was place to rest, Mrs Williams was at the side of Natasha holding her hands, she wondered what she could have done if it was another story, Mr Williams was starring at this daughter, he was baffled at the mind of his daughter, that cause him to wonder why she will render take her life then say the name of the man who is responsible for her pregnancy, and also his wife and the doctor in silence, but either ways he was at rest now, at least his daughter is fine, the doctor was done with the treatment and was putting his medical equipment in his bag. MR WILLIAMS Hope she is fine. DOCTOR yes, she is out of danger, she was lucky that you people found her on time if not you could have loss her and the baby too. MR WILLIAMS Thank you very much. DOCTOR No problem, she doesn't need any medicine for now, she just need to rest and eat, please try not to put her into stress, it's bad for her condition. Natasha looked at his mum then to her dad, what was Michael talking about, Michael saw the confusion in Natasha's face. MICHAEL Yes, for eleven year Nathaniel thought you were dead, that's what your parents told him. Natasha couldn't think straight, the tear began to flow, and she has treated Nathaniel badly thinking he hated her for those years. MICHAEL And that's where it started, the only place he seek comfort was his sister's room, that even after the relocation he still requested a room for his sister, and now all of a sudden his sister surfaced, all the love, all the emotions, all the lost, all the pain everyone of them came rushing out of him in full force, he couldn't hold it, he tried but he couldn't, at first we thought it was just a brotherly love but after the senator's son birthday party, we knew something was wrong and he decided to avoid Natasha. Phillip remembered the misunderstanding that was going on then, now he understood why, Natasha began to let out the pain, she cried her heart out, she now understood everything. MICHAEL He suffered alot after what he did, that was what lead to the attacks, he punished himself more then his body could carry. MR EVANS Then why didn't he tell his parents. MICHAEL You have not been listening have you, you couldn't trust them, parents that love their reputation more then their children, that's what he say sometimes, even when I convince him of telling them Natasha didn't let him, he tried everything to get her to listen but Natasha never gave him the chance, I hope now his death has payed for his sins. Natasha got on her knees, Philip quickly went to her to console her. NATASHA (Bitterly) Am sorry Nath, I know I was hurt but I had no right to push you away even when you came knocking for forgiveness. PHILLIP It's okay, its not your fault. Mr Williams also tried lifting her up. MRS WILLIAMS Honey, we your parents are to blame, we didn't play the role as parents, you were just a victim of our mistakes, am sorry, so sorry. NATASHA I pushed him away, I told him to go to hell, I wished him death, o my God, why did I let my anger to control me, Nath please, forgive me. Mr Williams couldn't say a word, he was speechless, both mother and daughter made the sitting room a mourning ground. EIGHT MONTHS LATER. Mr and Mrs Williams, Philip and Michael are seen in the the hospital reception, Michael was now counted as part of the family, mr Williams was now sponsoring his education and every other things, to him it was to show gratitude for being with his son before he died, truly if Nathaniel could open up to Michael about his deepest fear and secret then he is indeed a good friend, Philip too has always being around. Natasha has been in Labour for four hours now, they were all getting worried, just then the doctor came out, they all rush to him. THE DOCTOR (Smiling) congratulations, she delivered twins, a boy and a girl. They was all marvel and happy, they were all lead to the room she was kept, the nurse just finished dressing Natasha when they came in, they praised Natasha for being a strong woman, they all admire the twins who was sleeping calmly one after the other, they were so happy, Natasha was looking at each one of them weakly, she thank God in her heart for keeping the babies safe. NATASHA Phillip Phillip turned quickly to Natasha, he went to her side holding her hands, this too got all their attention. PHILLIP Yes baby, am so glad you did it. MRS WILLIAMS What name will you love to give them NATASHA (Smile weakly) Nathaniel and Natasha. They all smile sadly. NATASHA (Weakly) Please, promise me you all will love them with your lives, keeping them safe in this world. PHILLIP I personally will be a father to them. MICHAEL They already have a big uncle. MR WILLIAMS We will be there for them. MRS WILLIAMS I will love them. NATASHA Thank you all for being with me all through. Natasha looked at everyone of them, the only person missing was Nathaniel, she smiled at the thought of him, then the pain started, her chest was burning, she began to cough, this got them alerted, they were trying to calm her down while Michael rush to get the doctor, the doctor rush in with two nurses, and they went outside to allow the doctor do his work, they all prayed nothing happens to Natasha. CONCLUDING PART. Natasha didn't make it out of the hospital, died even after the effort of the doctor to keep her alive. Phillip accepted baby Nath and baby Natasha as his biological children because he felt close to Natasha doing so, Mr and Mrs Williams vow never to neglect their grandchildren just as they did to Nathaniel and Natasha.
