THE CHASE - BY STANLEX

Spencer woke up from the long night sleep, he stretched himself and yawned, he brushed his teeth and did his morning prayers, he went to the living room he couldn't find anybody at home, 'but we all slept together' he said to himself as he scratched his head in confusion.

He decided to go out of the old mud house to check if he could find them around, funny enough there was no other building aside his home, he looked around as thick bushes was the only thing he could see, he decided to go back inside, but couldn't find his house, he became confused as instant sweat trickled down his head. 'but i saw my house just now, where is it?' he began to ask himself questions. The whole place looked as if he was the only one on earth, he heard a loud roar from behind, he became more scared, there was no bushpath to follow. He heard footsteps as the loud roar continued, he became more scared and dashed into one of the bushes to hide himself, he suddenly heard the same roar from behind, he became so scared as his blood pumped in great pace, he decided to run into on of the bush not minding how tick it could be, he ran with great speed as the roar sound seemed to be following him, he became happy when he noticed a narrow path inside the forest, he followed the path thinking he could get help only to meet a dead end, he couldn't cross the big waterfall its impossible, he looked behind him to follow the path again but couldn't find it as tick forest covered everywhere, he cried out loud calling the names of his dead parent for help.

The roar seemed closer as he prayed to God to write his name in the book of life before he dies, during his prayer 4 matured and hungry lions came out of nowhere, the 35 year old man busted into tears like a baby as he began speaking in tongue. The lions moved closer and pinched his chest down as they bite his ear off.

'wake up! Wake up!!' sandra tapped spencer as sweat filled the bed sheets. He woke up screaming and speaking in tongues

'are you okay?' sandra asked

He still couldn't reply.. As he was still speaking in tongues

'i thank God its just a dream' he said panting like someone who ran marathon

'what dream' sandra asked

'let me go outside and take fresh air, i'll explain when i get back' he said and stood up and left the mud house, he began praising God and was about to enter the house again but couldn't find his house

'oh my God, Its Finally Happening' he said and began praying as the same roar sounded from the bushes. He couldn't find any place to hide as thick forest began to grow fast

'pls what is happening' he began crying as he watched the tall tress grow like magic, the sound seemed closer this time, luckily for him he ran into the bushpath at great pace panting, he saw two bushpath left narrow path and right wide path, he decided to take the narrow path thinking he made the right choice. The roar sound became more deep as the ground shaked, he ran and pulled off his bathroom slippers to run better, he ran until he met a dead end and fell into a pit, he fell and broke his leg as cobra snakes started coming out of the floor like magic

"mama!! Papa eh" he screamed aloud as tears poured out his eye as the snakes moved closer to him, climbing his leg.

"wake up honey, are you okay?" sandra tapped him as he bounced from the bed and pulled off his cutlass

"get out, stay away" he barked pointing the cutlass at her as sweat poured out of his head profusely

"pls whats going?" she asked looking confused

"this is not happening" he said and barged out of the wooden window, sandra began calling for help, he got outside and met children playing, everywhere seemed normal, he finally calmed down, as sandra came out.

"spencer stop this are you okay?" she said putting her hands on her head

"don't worry, i'm okay
"it was a very very terrible dream" he said and embraced his wife.
