Yesterday, The Codename for Android N was officially announced as "
Nougat" by
@Andriod on Twitter which is the official handle for Android.
Nougat is a confection made with sugar or honey, roasted
nuts, whipped egg.
In simple terms, Nougat is a sweetened candy made with Honey, Whipped eggs and roasted nuts although fruit can be added too.
I know You'll be like :
Trust me, I am too but as we all know, Android has releasing Codenames that are drawn from sweetened stuffs.

- Cupcake: Android 1.5
- Donut: Android 1.6
- Eclair: Android 2.0-2.1
- Froyo: Android 2.2
- Gingerbread: Android 2.3.3 to

- Ice Cream Sandwich: Android

Some features we should expect from Android Nougat
The Android Nougat is expected to come with features such as split-screen multi-window support, direct- reply notifications and bundled notifications, plus improvements to the Doze feature (which extends battery life in Marshmallow ) and changes
to the way Java is used and
implemented, including support for
Java 8.
Overall, Android Nougat will serve as a typical upgrade to Android Marshmallow. The Android Nougat is currently in Developer Preview status (Beta) and not available to the public for now.
