PREMBLE OF THE PLAY:
In a time when ladies of the middle belt thought less about the power of literature, its importance in the society, its gain when invest upon, the fame it brings to its promoter, a time when ladies were ignored because they were considered weaklings.
In a land where tribalism and hatred were the norms of the day, a land where the government care about its pocket instead of the welfare of the mass who elected it into office , a land where the government milk the youths all in the name of "education" and at the end fraudstrates them by refusing to provide adequate employement or give out jobs base on religion, tribalism,god fatherism, favouritsm and connection rather than merit. A land where the poor mass wail and live in pains, while the elites loots the public funds, ignoring the already dabarued educational system.
The destiny of the future literal scholars lies on the shoulder of a young lady, her name...Ruty Richy.
From Akwanga LGA in Nasarawa state...Born in lagos...First born child among five.

Act 1
It is always a common saying among our elders that everything has a begining, why our play need a begining. And the begining of this play must start with the birth of a child, a baby girl was born during the late weeks of the month of June into the family of Mr and Mrs Richard popularly known as 'The Richy Family'.

Scence 1:
(Lagos State Nigeria)
LABOUR ROOM
A woman was seen about to put to birth in sn undisclosed hospital, she was screaming the day light out of herself as she increased the tempo of her screaming.
1st nurse: (encouragingly) "Madam, please be strong, and push the baby out ".
2nd nurse: "Push!",(she glanced at the first nurse with fraudstration) ,"Nurse i think we need to use plan B ".
1st nurse: (disapproving) "Its not yet time for plan B ".
All these whiles , the lady was screaming and cursing.
"Heey, Richard where are you? Come let me slap you oh. You just gave me job and walk away! Hey oh. God please forgive me, i wouldn't do it again oh. Please take away the pain ".
1st nurse: (noticing the baby coming) " The baby is coming out ".
2nd nurse: "I got this ".

Scense 2
(WAITING / VISITORS HALL, SAME HOSPITAL)
A young man in his late 20s is seen pacing the hall wall up and down, checking his wrist watch at intervals. Worries written all over his face and bits of sweat pouring down his pores, like an xmas goat ready for slaughter. He forced down his buttocks to take a seat when he got closer to one but the instant the seat and and buttocks came in contact, he jumped up as though the seat was electroculated with high voltage. He resumed his up and down pacing, when he sighted a nurse coming out of the labour room.
Without much ado he rushed to her holding tight to her collar as if wanting to choke her to death.
"How is my wife and child, please tell me they are fine, please ", He begged.
"Congratulations Sir, your wife is fine. She just put to birth a bouncing baby girl".
The nurse disclosed the news while Mr Richard went amock with joy.

Act 2
scence 1.
Mr Richy rushed into the compoud amid jubilations, those who knew about his wife wasted no time in decoding what the jubilation was about.
"Rich, your wife don born? ", An elderly man asked.
"Yes oh she don born", Mr Richard replied him still dancing.
"Finally, Richy has join the old men's league ", A lady remarked as they all burst out laughing.

Scence 2.
Same compound, evening period. Mr Richard has organised a semi party to celebrate the arrival of his first child and daughter. Every Tom, Dick and Harry of the neigbhourhood were present as they were all drinking and celebrating.
"Me no know say Richman gun still dey function oh", A man on the same table with Richard spoke up.
"See this mumu oh, you think say everybody gun trigger don dey malfunction like your own? ",Another man interjected.
"Abegi, make ona park well mai see road pass jor ", Mr Richard joked as they all laughed and continued celebration.

Act 3
Scence 1
Mrs Richard is back from the hospital, she is surrounded by the women as they gist and gossip on various subjects partaining to motherhood.
"Wetin ona go call am self? " ,A lady ask.
"Ruth ", Mrs Richard replied with simplistic confidence.
"You mean roof?", Another ask puzzled.
"No na proof ", Another corrected.
"Its Ruth", Mrs Richard corrected.
"Oh Root? forgive me ", The first woman apologiesed.
"Its R-U-T-H, Ruth ", Mrs Richard spelt out and pronounced the words.
"Okay, Ruth . I been think say na Root oh ", The second woman gibberished as they all burst out laughing.

Scence 2.
Naming ceremony was held in church. Every Tom Dick and Harry were present. The naming ceremony went on smoothly from the onset till it was over, the baby was named Ruth.
"And it shall come to pass, you shall inspire and motivate just like Ruth in the Bible. You shall be greater than your parents and shall do exploit. The burden of the next generation is on your shoulder for your to motivate them when your time comes"., The presiding clerics spoke out his blessings as the light gradually dims.
And that was how the Legacy of Ruty Richy began...
