The stars are sown in the gloom
of this silent sky silenced by fear.

The black moon swims sadly
in the red clouds of blood.

Even the owls fear to sing
in this scary night of fates.

Even the fowls fear to sing
in this dark dawn of death.

The ugly flowers frown for
being watered with blood.

The silent echoes of gone souls
wave in the clamor of wind.

Oh! thou meadow of Zamfara
I pity thy burnt fresh flowers.

Oh! thou widow of Zamfara
I pity thy unborn baby.

Oh! thou window of Zamfara
she stares through thee for hope.
