# EPISODE 1 # Though it will be difficult to recollect vividly how it all happened twenty five months agi due to the intriguing complications that interwoven it all. But to be fair to THE ONE I LOVE , I must endeavour to put the record straight as possible. It all started during a visit to my elder brother residing in one of the far northern state. I wouldn't know whether it was a mere coincidence or a providence but there she was on a similar visit to her parents who incidentally were putting up in the same block as my brother. Christabel for that is her name,when I saw or rather knew her last few years back still a kid but with distinct elements of beauty painted all over her. though I must say she was rather blessed or cursed depending on one's point of view with a protruding stomach that seemed out of place,with the rest of her body and which made people to tease her all the day long. but the beauty and poise of the queen I saw standing at the door post of her father's two room apartment that morning left me gaping in utter bewilderment. # EPISODE 9 # I don't think she loved being chained to that man, she is secluded and unhappy and STILES I am going to help her. I confided in him with air of absolute determination. He laughed at what he described as crazy obsession that Would land me into trouble sooner or later and warned that I should not drag his name in when hell will break loose on my head, if I don't value my neck. I thanked him for all his intimations and concern and promised to keep him totally out of it as there was nothing to drag his name in unless he has been making unnecessary jokes all along and that brought our almost three hours colloquy to an end. Though I was determined to accost Christabel, I knew it was not something to be precipitated if I was going to succeed. It needed a careful well hatched out plan .but where and how I was going to start was yet to be imagined. The intricate and delicate nature of the case kept hammering my already confused head with severe painful blows as I rose to go. I got home and took few pain relieving tablets and slept off. I woke up in the morning quite revived, the ache was gone but almost immediately my conversation the previous evening with STILES came dancing in my mind as I lay facing the ceiling. My mind was far too discursive to think out any possible solution to the task ahead. At that moment I saw my hope of winning Christabel at the verge of irredeemable moribund. TO BE CONTINUED

#EPISODE 10# I have given up hope,almost forgotten everything about Christabel when I ran into her four days later on her way back from the market with that same intense look of morbid disquiet. I knew I need not to be pushed to offer my help to this girl that needed one,as I was propelled to block her entrance. Miss are you back? I asked. I saw fear jumped into her eyes and was quickly replaced by confusion as we stood regarding each other silently. Her countenance instantly changed to irritation as she said , let me pass. How was the market? I asked disregarding her order to pass. Let me pass I said or do you want trouble she asked raising her voice a shade higher than before. No I don't want trouble I answered still blocking her way, my confidence slightly deserting me at the mention of the word trouble. She looked back to see if there was anybody coming. When she turned again I saw tears gathering in her eyes and I decided to let her pass adding I was sorry if I had hurt her. She passed without any further comments and did not look back until she entered their room. I stood rooted at where I had stopped her confused at why she was crying. At the same time afraid of what may be the reaction. I ruminated over what has just happened searching where I have committed blunder that could land me into trouble TO BE CONTINUED

#EPISODE 11# Satisfied that I have not done anything seriously wrong I relaxed my mind a bit. Six days passed,nothing happened. I have not come up with any workable solution neither did I see Christabel again after that incident. I was motivated by subconsciousness to ascertain from her younger brother her way-about . Gerald a good natured fine boy who was the only male born of the family of seven who was easy to move with. Oh Christabel has been down with fever for the past five days,He intimated . How is she getting now? I asked . A little bit serious still he answered. Seeing that as an opportunity to get to their place and possibly close to her I seized on it. #EPISODE 12 # Totally obvious of the presence of Gerald as I watched the still beautiful face in what seemed a troubled sleep. I was startled back to life as he said we can go as she was still asleep. But almost immediately she opened her eyes. Her face remained blank for a while. Then confusion and panic suffered her face as recognition struck her. She must have probably mistaken me for some one else at first. In a moment I thought she was going to say something then she turned her gaze away from me. Silence reigned for a second or two. Christabel I started as she turned her eyes to me again probably wanting to know why I was there. It was only today in fact just this afternoon that I learnt of your illness. I hope you are making some improvements ,she nodded does it allow you to eat at all? She nodded again. can't you talk I asked? She looked at me with drawn face. I mean has the illness affected your voice I added quickly. She relaxed a bit and what looked like smile played and vanished almost as fast as it has come on her lips. Her faced remained totally impassive as she gaze into space. What can I get you? I asked . She looked up at me then to her younger brother and back at me as if she was warning me to be careful what I say. I turned to look at the brother who has been watching us with a masked face of uneasiness and decided not to overstayed my welcome. Okay I should be going I said hurrying to meet Gerald who was then on his way out. But not without promising her I will be coming some other time preferably when her people were away. But the thought of Christabel lying and crying there renewed me with vigour as I knew no body would ever dare come near Mr Agbor's house even if it was on fire.
