[b]Episode 3&4
I just stopd and watched as the troops marched out of the camp, first by the infantry, followed by the calvary and lastly the artilery. Although the artilery and the calvary had the same warfare function, the difference was that the artilery deals in heavy military equipment while the calvarh daels in lighter military equipment and they also act as back up to the infantry.
I stood watching as Boris led them out, leading them to the battle field, the battle field of death. I cried, you know i cried, yes i really did cry but the reason why i cried was obviouse to me, i presume i was crying for the men who were about to die or was it for my brother or my family? It might be because of the that was about to be shed and spilled, either way, i really couldn't tell which i was crying for. It was a touch behind me that brought me back from the ocean of thoughts, i swiftly turn round to see the person, i saw a young boy who i guess must be between the age of 17 or 18 standind witj sweat pouring down his face which made me conclude that he ran down to call me, but i wasn't sure what for.
"Hi Morris, Mr. Smith wants to see you, he is in his tenth, its very urgent, says you should come right away. "
The lad concluded and ran away without waiting for my response. I immidiately made my way to Mr. Smith's tenth. On arrival, i saw him going through some map, without looking up, he asked me to have a seat.
"Morris my boy, how are you doing?"
"Am fine sir "
"Good to hear that, cause we gat lots of work to do "
"Am all ears sir "
"Good "
he gesticulated for me to come closer to which i obliged.
"Look down here on this map " he began "we are currently in south carolina right? "
"Yes sir " came my feeble answer
" up here is north carolina, if you go either south or west you get to Georgia and if you move north west clockwise, you'll encounter the Appalachian mountain, go east you face the Atlantic ocean "
"I see "
"Gat what am trying to explain? "
"No sir "
I never did understand him cause i was lost in all his geographical theoeries. I was glad when he did explain it better.
"You see " he began "the Americans are in Alabama, lets presume the battle is ranging on here in Columbia, assuming we move down to Atlanta in Georgia, the Americans in Alabama will have advantage over us cause northwards is an American troops chasing us, eastward is ocean and we gat no ship so our only hope will be to march down south. If we keep up camp here in Columbia, who knows how long we can hold the Americans off?"
Looking keenly at Mr. Smith's explainations, it made sense and i understood pretty well what he meant, his theory was that our present location was no longer safe and we can't stand more chances against the Americans here, its better we move out.
"Yes sir, i understand perfectly well what you just portrayed but where do we move to for the time being? "
"Thats why i called you "
I moved more closer to the map, took a careful look and then an idea struck me
"What if we still move down south east of south Carolina ? "
"What location? "
"Charlestone will be a good point, you know, we can only keep watch on two places"
"The west and the sea?"
"Exactly"
" Then thats it , we are moving south, pass the words to thw camp, we are moving in twenty four hours time "
"Isn't that too short "
"No, its enough time for us to park our stuffs and march on or do you want the Americans to visit us before we keep moving? "
"No "
"Alright, do as you you've been told "
"What about the men on the battle field?"
"You mean the troops? "
"Yes "
"Oh don't worry, that shouldn't be a problem "
"How will the know that we've move out? "
"Like i said before, i shouldn't be a problem "
"But answer me first "
"Alright "
"Okay tell me "
"I'll send two messengers to inform them "
"Wouldn't that be risky "
"You know we have not fix our communication system "
"I know but its far too expose to send out just two men"
"I know but two men will be hard to detect amd again they'll be armed to the teeth "
"Okay sir "
"Go and alert the camp so we can move on, the earlier the better "
"Alright, am on it sir "
I replied him as i left his tenth.
