The story of my life by Tallest

I was born into a polygamous family of three wives and seven children.My father was a teacher so also are his three other wives.I was the 8th child and the last child although not the least.There were five boys and two girls before my arrival.Although I didnt have an idea of what was going around me the faithful day,it was later revealed that my parents and siblings were very excited and happy.It was said that words cannot portray how much Joy my mother felt the moment i came out of her,maybe it was because she guessed or know i will be the last but as fate brought it I was. "Iya Bunmi(bunmi's mother),congratulation you gave birth to a bouncing bay boy" the doctor said and my mother met the proclaimation wit a smile. "E se doctor"(thank you doctor)she said with all her might. She was discharged two days after putting to bed.She was greeted with shouts of Joy and applause as my father's car drove into the well spacious compound. I was named BABATUNDE(cos my granddad died during the period) Oluwamuyiwa and was later christened Mark.Love and care were showered on me since my arrival and this made me half-spoit and arrogant,even pround to the point that I do abuse my elders. I was enrolled into a private primary school at the age of 2 cos mum decided that giving a child the best foundation is the path to a successful life. Seconds turned into minutes,minutes into hours,hours into days,days into weeks,weeks into months,months into years and I was already in primary 5,my parents were convinced by my brothers to let me participate in the upcoming entrance exam into secondary school which they(my parents) later accepted cos of the intense pleading/persuasion.I did the examination and passed although not with the best result but anyway deemed fit for any secondary in the vicinity.I was admitted into a private secondary school far from home,though my parents were at first reluctant but with the fact that i wasnt ready for another school and the fact that my uncles and families were in support of it,I was allowed to go "but on a simple condition"my dad said,"what dad?"i sadly replied."no cause for alarm,son"my mum chipped in when she saw the look on my young face,"just promise us you will show good behaviours and show the public that you were given moral education to the fullest" she continued."I promise",talking to no one in particular "thats my son!"mum proclaimed boastfully And my life never remain the same the moment i stepped into the so-called secondary school.... Episode 2 My dad drove me to school on the first day of resumption to know all necessary payment or so i thought.We were directed to the principal office which was in the centre of the school.I wasnt oppotuned to take a look around the school cos my dad was in a hurry and wouldnt let me."you cant drag me to and from school everyday dad" i said to my self as I was half running so as to avoid falling.We finally got to a wooden door wit the inscription"THE PRINCIPAL" "come in" a deep voice said when my father knocked the door. My father opened the door and we both walked in.I expected something elaborate but was disappointed as I scan through the office. Although the office floor was clean,books were scattered on the shelf and the documents were also in disorder. "Mr Akinnubi" my father introduced himself,"this is my son,muyiwa" he said extending his hand for a handshake "Mr Gbadamosi" he said taking my father's hands in his "I came for all necessary payments and also the list of books for the session" my father announced "Good" the principal said handing a list to my father "you can pay the fees to the bursar over there" he added pointing to the east of his office "Thank you sir" my father said shaking the principal's hand for the second time that morning. The bursar's office wasnt hard to find cos the place was full of parents that wanted to pay their child(ren)'s fees. The time was laready 7:30am and my father ought to be at work by 7:45am,he handed me over to a woman and begged her to please help me to pay the fees. The woman agreed and collected sum Naira notes from my father and he(my dad) left after giving me "food money" and promised to come and take me after school. The woman came with a boy of my age although not my height. "Tobi" he said "muyiwa" I answered him shyly "dont be shy bro"he said almost immediately "okay,tnx" I said trying not to look shy "good,nice meeting you" "same here" we both hugged ourselves and didnt notice his mum was watching us. "alright boys,we are good to go" she said and we both freed each other. We were directed to the head teacher who is responsible for alllocating classes to students and fortunately,Tobi and I were in the same class.Although it was said that uniforms will be ready the following day. We followed Tobi's mum to her car after her discussion with the head teacher."WOW!!" I almost said at the sight of the vehicle.not that i was seeing it for the first time but the fact that it is owned by a woman.We watched her drive out after giving both of us money to spend during break. We went to our allocated class and this was when i got to look at Tobi head to toe.Fair in complexion,average height(inches shorter than me),built muscles,and to round everything up a well created handsome face. "what?"he said when he noticed me "nothing sir"i said mockingly and we both laughed. "lets go outside" he said when we were through "okay" i said "this is why i asked mum to bring me to a mixed school" He announced as we saw some female students roaming about "I dont understand you Tobi"I said "you will soon understand Muyiwa" he replied.. "I hope it isnt what am thinking" I said "what are you thinking?" he asked "nothing" i shook my head to be continued.........

Episode 3 "what are you thinking Muyiwa?" he asked yet again "I said nothing" i replied but when I realise he isnt going to stop asking,i told him my fears "I think you are not into dirty games cos i dont think i can go with you on that" He shook his head and was about talking when the Principal called us We rushed to meet the waiting man "what are u both doing there?" he asked "arent you assigned any work by your class teacher?" he asked once again "NO!!" we both chorused "and we dont even know our class teacher" "who asked you if u know him or not?" he hissed as he motioned us to follow him. He led us to a fair complexioned short and robust man probably in his mid thirties and asked him why we werent given work to do cos the first day of resumption is for cleaning the school compound. "am sorry sir" he said "I will right away sir" the principal handed both of us to him and he led us to a far corner of the school where some students were already working. "join your mates" he commanded. Without hesitating we joined the working students. "which class are you?" a girl who we later know to be the acting senior prefect girl named Bisi asked, "Tobi" "muyiwa" "Muyiwa abi Omoga?" she said laughing heartily,the other students later joined her including my so called friend.They stopped after seeing that our head teacher was coming in our direction. Within the twinkle of an eye,everybody returned to their working position. After inspecting our works he went back to where he came from and thus reigniting the laughter of the so called senior Bisi. "this is getting interesting" Tobi whispered as he noticed Bisi was staring at both of us "she is staring at us" I said "IDIOT!!she is staring at me"Tobi said which made me angry though i dont know why "stupid boy,she is staring at me"I replied aloud not minding that werent alone. "what are u both talking about?" she asked no one in particular "erm......erm......erm"Tobi stammered. "what!!" she exclaimed drawing attention of the other students "nothing ma" I said amidst fears "better" she said smilling and returned to her duty we started talking in low tones, "wow!!do you see what am seeing Muyiwa?this girl fine pass my mum oh" Tobi said in almost a whisper. "who?" I asked "senior.....Bisi of cos" he said "HA!!" I shouted but this time she(senior Bisi) wasnt interested "You are dead bro.Dont even think of it,Senior Bisi for that matter" I added "Just wait and see" he said winking at me. To be continued

Episode 4 "Okay" I said thinking he was just playing pranks on me little did I realise that he already has his so called plans. After the day's work,senior Bisi took attendance of the workers and dismissed them. "hey you!"she called out "me?"we all asked "no,you.....erm Tobi" she replied smiling. This made a jealous thought grow in my mind but I waved it of immediately.Tobi walked to meet her trying not to laugh at the look on my face. They both walked to a corner hidden from my sight,one part of me wanted to follow them but the other part opposed it telling me the risk involved.I heeded to the latter part and sat along the path they took. 30 minutes gone,"where are they?" i asked myself almost saying it out. 45 mins gone,I was about going to class when i saw both of them coming from the direction they went minutes ago.Senior Bisi was shocked to see me but Tobi wasnt probably bcos he thought I am his best friend.Different thoughts ran through my mind and different question popped up,where are they coming from?what was their discussion?why Tobi?why not me?what took them so long? "dont ask me question bro" he said as we were alone just like he was reading my mind. "why now?,are we fighting?" I asked "which one do I answer first?" he said "dont worry I will tell you but not now" "when?" "when everything is over" "everything?" "yes,everything!!" I wanted to ask question but the look on his face told me to keep the questions to myself. The time was already 12:55pm and we both were hungry, "lets go to the food vendor" Tobi suggested "today is the first day of resumption,so there isnt any food seller in the school compound,I will help you both get something to eat.Just wait for me" Senior Bisi interrupted us. "thanks" I said but Tobi was unmoved by the sudden show of kindness. "do you think she will bring food or is she just joking?" I asked Tobi "you should have asked her before she left" he said and hissed. "guy,whats wrong with you now?" I asked him but he just laughed "Lets wait and see if she will bring it" Tobi said we waited anxiously like a sick patient waiting for the doctor. After what seemed an eternity,senior Bisi walked in with a polythene bag which was thought to contain our foods. To satisfy our curiousity she opened the bag and brought to "take-aways",one containing fried rice and the other containing jollof rice.Since I wasne used to eating fried rice,I opted for the jollof rice devouring it like a hungry Lion. She was wowed by how fast I finished the food but kept her feelings to herself. "thanks" I said after completing the project she brought for us. "you don't need to thank me" she replied. She eyed Tobi who was still eating and eye signaled to him though i couldn't decipher their discussion cos Tobi replied him using facial expression also Tobi soon finished his food and left with senior Bisi and I just watched in amazement at how closed they have become since i was left alone,I went outside to take a look around the compound when I saw a figure in front of me.She was a female.My heart raced faster but i summoned courage to approach her and at least ask of her name. I walked slowly to where she was standing and like a drama she turned to face me as I was meters away from where she stood......... To be continued..................

Episode 5 She is just the most beautiful thing have ever seen apart from the females in my family. A round fitting face which makes her look like Tiwa Savage,not so full breats although very inviting for a teenager,her curve will make even her father go crazy...lol i kept staring at her...... She wore a neatly ironed uniform of white blouse and pink skirt,this made me conclude that she must be a senior cos we new students haven't been given school uniform "go back muyiwa cos you are not used to it and she may even slap you" one part of me said. "forge ahead and show Tobi that you are on point" another part told me. I kept staring at her and she was just standing there smiling back. At that moment I saw Tobi approaching us. "just show him what you've got" the dark side of me said. "I've got nothing!!" I replied almost saying it loud. After much thinking i decided to go over to at least ask of her name.My heart was racing and i even doubt if usain bolt can run faster than it that very moment.... "H..H...Hi" i asked visibly shaking "Hi" she said smiling "what's funny?" i asked in my mind."muyiwa you can do it" a voice told me."yes i can,yes i can,yes i can" i replied the voice. "can i know your name?"I asked trying to be confident, "Tenniebenson" she said almost immediately "am Muyiwa" I said composing myself "I already know" she said shocking me "how?" "I was with senior Bisi when you were brought by Mr Ajani" she explained, "that means you were among those that were laughing at me?" I asked raising my eyebrow, "No,i didn't" she said "hmmm" "I swear I didn't" she said raising her hand upward. I was thinking of what next to say when Tobi suddenly showed Up and saved me from the mess that av caused for myself.... Something popped up in my mind and i quickly spit it out "which class are you?" I asked her "JSS3" she said "that means I will call you senior Tennie" "you don't need that,also i think you are older than me and also taller" she said smiling after the last sentence, "not again" I muttered "okay sorry" she apologised "Muyiwa,here you are" Tobi said holding my hand and scanning Tennie's appearance "I've been looking for you" he added "I didn't get lost" I hissed and eyed him "whatever" He said "lets go" he motioned me to follow him "i will be with you in a sec bro" I told him "hope we will see some other time?" I asked Tennie "sure" she said since my phone is not presentable(those Samsung phones with blue backlight)compared to a high tech phone she held though i don't know its manufacturer. "do you care giving me your number?" I asked hoping that she will just say no "okay" stretching out her hand which means i should bring my phone, "I didn't bring my phone to school" I said hopefully "type your number her then" she said giving me her phone i smiled inwardly as i typed my number though i didn't know what's making me smile "here you go" i returned the phone "its a pleasure meeting you muyiwa" she said "pleasure?what should be my reply........"I was deep in thought "okay i got it!!" i said to myself "the pleasure is all mine" I said "Muyiwa,lets get going!" Tobi shouted from afar. Without even saying goodbye i rushed to meet him,but turned to take a look at the damsel am leaving behind.taking few steps toward where she stood i said, "Tennie,you are the most beautiful being I've ever seen" she blushed and said "Thanks,you are not looking bad either"....... "we will talk later Tennie" "Okay Tallest" "Job welldone bro" Tobi welcomed me with a smile "what does that mean Tobi?" I asked surprisingly "you want that girl?" He asked "erm...erm.....erm.....ye...ye...yes" i stammered "cool bro but you know what?" he said "what?" "we are doing this together" "why should i trust you?" "cos we are friends and you need me more than ever in this kind of situation" He boasted. "okay,thanks but how do we go about it" I asked expectantly "we will commence operation tomorrow" he said "lets go for a walk around the school compound" he added drawing me along "what are his plans?" I asked myself......."i can't wait till tomorrow!!" to be continued.......

Episode 6 "Tobi lets go to the class,your mum will be here anytime from now" I told him "okay" he said giving up I can't believe we've been roaming about for almost 2hrs now "Tobi,Muyiwa where are you both coming from?" a woman asked when she saw us "who is she?"I asked myself and just then i remembered the woman who helped me wit my fees and even gave me some notes to spend although senior Bisi didn't allow us to buy anything........."Its Tobi's mum" I concluded within me "we were looking around mum,no cause for alarm" he said "wonders shall never end,talking to your mother like she is your friend,I dare not talk to my sister like that talkless of my mother...anyway that's their problem "both of you pick your bags and lets go" she commanded "but my dad is not here yet,he said he will come to pick me and I don't want him to wander around looking for me" I told her although I wanted to go with her in that 'beautiful car'... "he already called me and said I should take you home" she replied I was happy i will finally sit in the car but her statement kept repeating itself in my head,'he already called me'...."what could that mean?""question for the gods" a voice said....i quickly waved off the thought when i saw Tobi's mum staring at me and quickly follow Tobi to get my bag... We both returned with our bags and headed to where she parked her car,this is when i saw an iron-like artwork which read "TOYOTA"..We all entered the car.Tobi was seated beside his mum and i sat at the 'owner's corner' His mum wasn't an expert driver so she drive at low pace but i enjoyed the journey,and the 'AC' wasn't helping matter either,as it blew I was just praying that we don't get to our house but unfortunately for me she stopped at the front of a big,beautiful and well decorated building,although i can't see the interior decoration but am sure it will be more beautiful than the exterior. "Tobi get in and take your bath,I will be back after dropping your friend" Her mum said but he countered the decision "he already know our house,I want to know theirs maybe I can visit him sometimes after school" "okay" her mum said And we set out for my house which is on the same street with theirs,exactly ten building separate us.... "stop" I commended and she carefully applied the brake. "this is where I live" I said to no one in particular. "this?" Tobi's mum asked looking around the house. I felt embarrassed but quickly hid the feeling "thanks for driving me home ma,I do appreciate" "Its okay son,just get prepared early tomorrow cos your father asked me to take you to and from school from now on" she announced shocking me "okay ma,thanks"I said "till tomorrow Tobi" I waved as the car zoomed off "did i hear her right?diving me to and from school everyday?" i thought as i entered I didn't meet anybody at home when i arrived.I heaved a sigh of relief cos i just couldn't stand the questioning if i were to meet my mum at home I opened the door after finding the key under the shelf in the corridor,i went to my room but i haven't finish taking off my my clothes when my so called phone vibrated.An unregistered number? "hello" a feminine voice said immediately i pressed the green button "hello,pls who is this?"i replied hoping it is...... "its Tennie,have you forgotten me so fast?" "Oh sorry,i didn't know you are the one besides i don't have your number" "now that you know its me,what are you going to say?" "nothing,absolutely nothing" "not even a sorry?" "why should i say sorry?i didn't offend you,did i?" "actually,you did" "am sorry then" we continued talking for sometime before bidding goodbye after agreeing to meet the next day at the school eatery during break. Instead of saving her number,i kept reading and repeating it so as to save it in my 'permanent' memory cos i was afraid it could get stolen from my phone. I smiled to myself when i finally got all the digits right and waited for my mum's arrival cos i was very hungry.......... To be continued...................

Episode 6 The much anticipated tomorrow finally arrived and surprisingly i woke up before the alarm clock.I checked the wall clock and the time was 2;15am... "still midnight" I hissed angrily I went back to bed after checking the time and ended up having another romance dream section with........Tennie Unfortunately,the alarm clock came to life when it got to the b******g section "No!!!Not now,someone stop this useless alarm!!!!!" I screamed when I heard the unending loud noise the alarm was making...... "Muyiwa,ki lo sele?(what's wrong?) My mum said when she came into my room probably she heard my noise "Nothing" "get up and prepare for school" The word 'school' made me excited,I jumped down and rushed outside to fetch water from the tap in the compound which surprised my mum cos I wasn't the kind of child that like going to school unlike my brothers........only if she knew the 'greatest achievement' awaiting me in school she wouldn't have let me leave......... Since I wasn't assigned any morning chores other than waking up and getting dressed for school,I dressed up and prepare for school within 30mins.I sat down waiting for both my mum and Tobi's mum....My mum is to give me my breakfast while Tobi's mum is to take me to school. My mum was the first to get to me and offered my food which I took happily and was about to eat when I heard a noise from outside.... "pin pin pin" a car was horning outside which I was so sure is Tobi's mum "piin piin piiiiin"......I forgot to tell my mum about the new development yesterday and I quickly briefed her from the moment we(me and my father) got to school to the time Tobi's mum told me that she will be the one taking me to and from school removing and eradicating the 'private matters',though she was against it at first,she later agreed when my pleading was becoming intense. I packed my food into a container and told mum am ready for school.She gave me some money and that was when I remembered the money I was given yesterday and quickly rushed to my room to get it I went out after some minutes to meet Tobi and his mum looking around impatiently "good morning ma" i greeted "what took you so long?" "sorry ma,I was packing my food" "okay,get in" she commanded I didn't know where she got the energy from cos she driving fast and I wondered if I was wrong with my thought yesterday. We arrived at school within minutes and she gave us some money as usual.She zoomed off immediately "can you tell me your plans now?" I asked Tobi as we were heading to our class "i will tell you but not now" he replied. "when?" "lets get to class" "okay" I was moving faster than ever,getting to class is no big deal,is it? "wait for me" He said,that was when I realised the distance between us "what are you running after?" he asked "me?running?" I answered him with a question "no,me" He hissed as he walked pass me I just pray his plans are well planned cos I wasn't ready to lose Tennie. Unexpectedly,we bumped into someone familiar,she turned and...... "Tennie?" she looked back when heard my voice "can we start executing your plans now?" I whispered to Tobi "absolutely" He replied in low tone At first I didn't want to go near her but when I noticed she wasn't moving I decided to give it a try "what should i tell her?" I asked Tobi "nothing,just hold her hand and walk her to her class..we will go for her during lunch" He explained "hold her hand?what if she gets annoyed?what if?what if?what if?" i said to myself "she can't" Tobi said "did i hear that?" I asked him "why not?am not deaf.Just go and don't keep her waiting" he said in a commanding tone '''I walked up to her smiling and held her hand but this annoyed her and she slapped me hard across the face that I almost fell,I held my red cheek with my left hand and looked back,I saw Tobi laughing heartily''' I shook my head,I was daydreaming. I opened my eyes and saw something in front of me or let me say someone.........a girl To be continued...................

@Justify .Lol.. As for me oh.. You don't sound rude since you mean no harm and its your own point of view!!! But Mah tell you the truth.. For this so called generation of 'OURS(new generation)'.. Nothing is Impossible!!! If a human could be sleeping with someone older than his/her parent and call such act SUGAR MUMMY/DADDY, definately SS3 student could date pry.6!!!! A child in nursery school knows more than an adult what is meant by Relationship nowadays!!!! (Nah Mah Own Point Of View Ah Say ooo)..!!

Afterall.. Tallest is telling us his own story and He was a teenagers then!!! And Most Importantly, if I didn't guess wrong, this story would be his first story!!! SO, LETS ENCOURAGE HIM. I didn't says we shouldn't complain or point out his mistakes,but LITTLE CONDEMN LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT!!!

Episode 7 Her image was blur but I know its someone familiar.....My sister. I looked around surprisingly and what I saw was shocking......I was on the bed in my room,I can't believe have been dreaming all along or should I say I visited the second world "Muyiwa!!!Muyiwa!!!muyiwa!!!!" she called again "en en kinni?"(yes,what's it?")" I angrily asked her kpoa!!!!!I didn't know it was my cheek that made a noise so loud to wake a dead person "yeepa!!" this time my eyes were clear,very clear to know i wasn't dreaming.I didn't want to give her the impression that the slap startled me so I walked away immediately "I couldn't believe I've been dreaming,or is that the second world?" different questions on my mind and no one to answer them.... "Muyiwa,aren't you going for your entrance examination?" mum said from the sitting room "entrance examination?how many times am I going to do that?I've done it already" I told her confidently "what's wrong with him?" mum asked my sister looking confused "I don't know oh" "when did you do the exam?when?" mum barked at me "erm....erm.....erm" I stammered "go inside and get prepare!!!" she commanded. I went inside still recovering from the shock and got prepare and ready for the exam Dad came in the moment I was about to take my food and he force fully dragged me outside without letting me to even touch the food. We got to the center exactly 7:45.Since the exam is scheduled for 8:00,we settled down in a corner. The exam commenced at exactly 8:15 when everyone has settled down I saw the question and laughed to myself,It was exactly what I did in my 'dream' I answered everything completely and was quite satisfied "hey you!!,stand up" the supervisor shouted "did he see anything on me?did I do anything funny?did i offend him?" I thought and quickly stood praying my obedience will at least make him have mercy "sit down" he said after checking me thoroughly and finding nothing on me I submitted after some minutes and bounced out of the exam hall. "that's my son,u really took after me" my father boasted "yes dad" the result came out and I was surprised to be the number 5 on the order "wow!!!!dad I made it" I shouted when I got home "oh!lovely!!" he said my mum cooked my favourite that night,pounded Yam and egusi soup which i ate happily I was amongst the students that were given scholarship by the state government and I was given a chance to choose amongst the schools in the state After thinking through,I chose a private school which was far from our house and did the necessary registration. I wasn't allowed to go to school on the first day since it was said to be a 'day of work'.... My mum followed me to school the second day and we were welcomed happily by the staffs of the school The week was uneventful throughout the week cos I was so shy to the extent that I don't even go near my colleagues.Although,some came to congratulate me of my scholarship but I do avoid them... Though I was hoping and praying for what happened in my dream to repeat itself,but It didn't. The second week came I prayed that it is spent as the former one but........ Episode 8 I walked to school cos i was quite familiar with the path "hey,hey,hey" someone called out from afar I turned around and saw a guy walking up to me or should I say running? I didn't know what made me stop but I did,"Tallest?" he asked panting "Yes?" "am Tobi" "muyiwa" "lets go to school or we might be late" he said "okay" we got to school exactly when the the bell was rang summoning the students to the assembly ground since we were both in the same class,we stood together on the line and that was how my friendship with Tobi started......... What I noticed about him that made me like him was that he was handsome and tall though not as tall as me,he didn't like making friends. We were best of friends and everybody in school admired our bond,we did almost everything together. Days turn into weeks and weeks into months and as far as I was concerned,our exam was fast approaching......it Almost all the students in my class came over to us(me) for coaching or should i say teaching......it someone that interest me most among the students was a girl what I like about her was the willingness and readiness to learn although she is beautiful but since I wasn't the bad type,I didn't bother about it Sooner rather than later,we gradually,we were becoming closer than before which kind of amuse me cos I don't think I can be that close to a girl outside my family though all I saw was that she was nothing but my 'student'... "you can't believe I don't know your name" I told her one day "Tenniebenson" she said "wow!!nice name"I didn't know what came over me that moment but all I remembered was that I asked her another question "can you tell me more about yourself?" "sure" she said smiling "I ............" she started explaining from her family to her characters,hobbies,likes and dislikes and also her dreams, I was very carried away and something slipped from my mouth "which kind of boys do you like?" Her mood changed to something I term 'happy mood' "what did I say?what's funny?" I asked myself. "guys like you" she said smiling "Muyiwa what's wrong with you?are you insane?do you know what you are doing?" "wow,I like girls like you also" I muttered "what did you just say?" my mind said again She was blushing when I looked at her and I quickly looked away but she ......... Episode 9 I looked at her face again and notice a change or let me say emotion though I don't really have a name to call it. Since that blessed day,our bond grew stronger.Though Tobi and I are still best of friends,we don't do everything together like before Exam started and the brilliant students in the class were happy while the remnants were moody. Fortunately,I sat in between two girls,Tennie and an unknown face which i didn't bother to know since I wasn't interested. "settle down!!" The supervisor shouted at the front of the class when some student were still running around borrowing writing materials "start" He commanded after distributing the question and answer paper A smile appeared from no where on my face cos the question was damn too simple!!!! I answered all the questions within minutes and was about to submit my papers when Tennie signalled that i shouldn't since she is yet to finish answering her questions "number 4" she whispered to my ears I spread my papers so that she can copy from my answers "am through" She announced after answering her questions We both stood up to submit our paper but I was held back again by the girl sitting in front of me "what is it again?" I asked her "I haven't answered any question,please help me" she pleaded. I pitied her and agreed to help by giving her my answer booklet to write from. She was so fast in writing it that she finished everything in no time "so fast?" I asked "yes,thank you" she said handing over my paper to me, that was when I realised that Tennie was there with me, "lets go" I told her but she was reluctant and decided to sit back "am not going with you" she said jealousy written al over her face though I couldn't figure out why Since the supervisor is already looking in our direction,I decided to submit my papers so as to avoid his wrath. I waited for her outside the class after submitting my paper "hello" someone say from behind I turned and saw the same girl I helped out during the exam "hi" I replied not knowing where I got the confidence from "Becky" she said "is that your name?" "yes,what do you think?" "I thought it was another way of greeting" I replied her question which made her laugh showing her beautiful set of teeth "what's funny?" I asked her sounding annoyed "nothing,sorry" she replied "okay,am mu......" "muyiwa" she intercepted "you know me?" "who doesn't know you?even your longitudinal distance will make you noticeable not to talk of the things upstairs" she said smiling I was about to say something when Tennie showed up with an angry face "yes?tallest,what are you doing here with her?" She asked me angrily "nothing,she was just thanking me for what I did for her the other time" I explained "better" she said "hmmm,lover girl,so jealous" Becky muttered and hissed,she turned to walk away when I said something that came to my mind immediately I digested her words "she is not my lover girlie,she is just a friend.....like you" I didn't know the impact of my outburst until I saw Becky smiling and looking at me or should I say, at the person beside me which turned out to be Tennie 'If looks could kill,I would have been dead by now' the look on her face conveyed just one message.............ANGER!!!! Episode 10 "What have I done this time?I seems I offended her,but how?I didn't do anything wrong,or did I?" alot of question crossed my mind that moment I saw her,Becky was gone by then.I guessed she laughed off..... "What?is she crying or what?how do I go about this now?" I asked myself when I noticed droplets of water running down from her eyes "what's the meaning of all there?" I didn't know where I got the confidence room,I grabbed her and took her in my arms,her head resting on the upper part of my stomach. My uniform was already wet within seconds from her tears "Tennie,what's wrong?did I offend you?Just tell me what I've done wrong" I asked her raising her face towards the sky so that I can see her face "Becky......" she said and went on another round of weeping "ahh,should i leave you here?what's wrong with you?just tell me the problem" I told her with sincerity shown clearly on my face "do you love me?" She asked in between her tears shocking me with her words "love?what's love?and why did you ask the question" I replied her with another question "love is........." she was about to explain when Tobi coughed He has been watching us but we were both into the talk that we didn't notice him We both stare at him "well,well,well" He said clapping his hand "I hope am not interrupting,forgive me if I do interrupt you but I think its time to go home Muyiwa" "yes, it is" I answered him "are you leaving me behind?" Tennie asked when we were about leaving "but we aren't going in the same direction" Tobi replied her harshly She hissed and turned to me, "we will continue our talks tomorrow" with that,she walked away swinging her tail or what do you call it from left to right. I didn't see much of it as she went out seconds later and off to her house,I think Tobi and I also left school after her departure "what is wrong with her?" Tobi asked on our way "who?" I asked although I knew who he was referring to "Tennie of cos" "nothing" "tell me what happened between you that made her cry the other time" I explained everything to him from the examination time to the moment he showed up "Interesting" he said after hearing my explanation "what do you mean?" I asked him "just that before a girl can cry because you said she is just a friend,she already have interest in you.Although I haven't experienced it,but I do watch movies and the end isn't always a happy one.Just be careful" He said his last three words evoked fear in me "Just be careful?careful of what?careful of who?" I asked myself though I didn't want to ask him to hide my fears "what's wrong Tallest?" he asked when he noticed I wasn't answering his questions "why aren't you answering me anymore?" "did you ask me any question?" I asked him "yes" "i didn't hear,what's the question" "when she asked you that do you love her,what was your response?yes or no" "none of the above,all I said was that I didn't know the meaning of love and she was about to explain when you showed up" I told him "from what I read,a writer said 'love is a feeling of affection to another person either male or female'" he explained "do you have feelings for her?" "which type of feelings?" "feelings of affection" "erm......erm....erm...." I stammered not knowing what to say But truthfully,I do have a special feelings for her,but is that love?I don't think so........ To be continued.................

"who are you?" she inquired "Muyiwa,Tobi's friend" I explained "come in,he is over there" she pointed to a corner in the spacious compound "thank you" I said walking over to where she pointed I was steps away from where the point when I heard people whispering or should I say discussing,the first voice is Tobi's but I don't recognise the second voice Eager to know who it was,I quickened my steps and got there to meet a shocker Tobi was talking to a girl probably of his age I was quite surprised that someone like him could find it easy to talk to a girl talkless of bringing her to his home I quickly hid the feelings when he saw me "Tobi,how are you?" I said walking up to him "am fine" he replied I signalled to him which I know he guessed right cos he immediately introduced the girl to me "her name is Adewunmi" he said pointing to her "Wunmi meet Muyiwa,my friend" I offered my hand and she took "I came to tell you that we will go together tomorrow after school or anytime you are free" I explained to him going straight to the point "that's the Tallest I want,show those girls the real you!!" We got to school quite early and escaped the punishments of the prefect. "how do I kiss her?"Instead of answering me,he took me my hand and dragged me to a place "how do I kiss her?" I asked him again for explanation or should I say demonstration when we were alone in the secured area that he dragged me to "just do like this......." someone coughed and we both looked up to meet a familiar face.......Tennie "good morning Muyiwa,I have been looking for you" she greeted and said "good morning Tobi" she greeted Tobi and facing me instantly "morning" we answered in unism "hope you didn't miss me?" She asked me startling me with the question "we talked yesterday,how will I miss you?I don't need to,or do I?" I thought and was about to spit out my mind when Tobi winked at me and I quickly understood his saying...... "Yes I do and I think you miss me too" "absolutely,how was your night?" she asked facing me "fine" "hope you dream about me?" she asked again "what does she mean?I didn't dream about you girl,not now,not ever" I was about to tell her the truth when Tobi signalled to me and I quickly got the message........should I lie again in a matter of seconds? "Yes,I do dream about you.......always" I answered making the two people in front of me to smile and I also smiled back "hmmm....that means we have that in common cos I do dream about you always even sometimes I daydream about you.and I don't know why" she explained to be feigning innocence. "you don't need to know,Its just evident that you both love yourselves and you both have to admit it so that it can work for both of you.I know you both love yourself but afraid of what the other party can say,anyway this is a good chance to say your mind since we are alone here and I don't think there is anyone that will know about it." He explained to both of us switching glances at interval "I was wowed by what he said,how he said it and why he said it,his confidence,composure and everything he did made it simple and amazing for both of us,I just couldn't wait to hear her mind".......I just pray she loves me as Tobi claimed "LOVE??" we both asked Him at the same time and he smiled back.He was about to say something when the bell rang summoning us to the assembly ground "we will start from there during break" Tobi said "yes" we both chorused again and we both looked into each there's eye I was tempted to hold the beautiful thing before me but I was so afraid that I ran out to the assembly ground leaving Tobi and Tennie alone though I later regretted my actions........ Episode 18 It was a saturday,so she didn't put on her school uniform.Although,we have been together for sometime now,I haven't seen her in another clothe apart from our white and pink school uniform.She was wearing a green Ankara sewn into gown which made her look more beautiful than when I saw her in school yesterday.That was when I remembered that I told her to meet me there at noon just for us to have a little chat and also take a walk around town though she didn't agree with the latter making excuse after excuse just to make me change my mind and I later succumb to her pleas.the most fascinating part of it was that the devil himself was looking at the goddess before him and he was licking his lips,though he didn't notice I was looking at him.I wanted to laugh but I didn't,thanks to the slight anger in me,at last she was here...standing infant of me after what I call a long walk "hi" she said as soon as she was close to where we were standing "hi" Tobi greeted back and this made her look in my direction like she was expecting my greetings. Instead of greeting,I took her into my arms and hugged,"I love you" I whispered into her ears "I love you too tallest but am not ready for this" she said worry written all over her beautiful face, "what aren't you ready for?" I asked like I didn't know what she was implying(and truthfully,I don't) and when I saw that she wasn't ready to tell me why "you dont need to be worried,I will be there for you always" I assured her and enveloped her in another round of a tight hug and this time,she hugged me back and the worried on her face disappeared in the twinkle of an eye "I've gotten her completely" I said to myself not knowing whether to laugh,smile,cry or angry. Our relationship continued and as usual Tobi was telling me to make the move and feel the sweetness of a relationship "what's the sweetness of a relationship" I asked him one day when he finished his talks or should I say advice "good,now you are ready to learn" "I didn't agree just that I want to know the sweetness of a relationship" I told him frankly "okay,straight to the point,the sweetness of any relationship is the coming together of male and female......." he explained but I interrupted him "that's the definition of marriage and you are the one that said I shouldn't think of marrying her" I said "shut up!!just shut up" he shouted at me angrily "don't you get it?let me finish my speech before you utter the rubbish left in your mouth" he said and hissed angrily and I did the same.Using this as an excuse,he walked away though I felt the urge to stop him but I didn't....."what's the point in being friend with someone who wants you to be bad?to be a use and dump guy?" I reasoned within me Tobi and I didn't talk for weeks and Tennie noticed it after sometimes cos we were both avoiding each other.This made here conclude that we were quarrelling,though she asked me what's the reason for our quarrel I didn't tell her anyword,all I was telling her was that there is nothing between us just a little quarrel and Tobi also said the same. "lets settle the dispute" she said one day when she was fed up with the avoidance She settled our fight and made us friends again "now,let the friendship remain as it was" she said after everything and then I smiled Only if she knew what made me avoid him she wouldn't have done what she did,but anyway Tobi and I are now friend.... Episode 19 Tobi and I reconciled and we've returned to the way we were,thanks to the persuasion and pleading of Tennie,and thankfully Tobi didn't talk about the 'use-and-dump' nonsense again which kind of make me relax and happy since I've got nothing to worry about.The 'bond' between Tennie and I grew stronger and every students in school sometimes envy our so-called 'relationship' though we didn't make it noticeable to our teachers nor our parents;thanks to Tobi's lying ability that saved me when my parents saw Tennie and I walking hand in hand after school one faithful afternoon,only if the devil haven't been around that day,only God knows what would have happened to both of us.....especially me. *******fast forward********* Two months later. We were already preparing for our promotion exams to JSS3 and this made students read like this will be their last exam.The genius(which I am one of them) in the class were just going around as usual not minding the intense reading amongst students since they have already been reading since the start of the session.Since Tennie wasn't the genius type,she made it my responsibility to teach her some subjects and also teach her how to answer some 'twisted' question.I was happy to teach her since I've got less things to do after school and Tobi made his house a lodge for the lessons since he also wants to learn from the teachings.I taught both of them like I was paid to do so and they appreciate my work by understanding what I taught them perfectly well,and this made me exert more efforts so that all of us can pass the exams in flying colours. The exam started as expected and we went for the exams with high spirit.After exams,we will set out for Tobi's home so that I can teach them the next subject.This continued till we ended the exams . The results came out and unsurprisingly I made A's in all the subject except French which I had 'C' this made my father slightly angry but my mother pleaded on my behalf that I would learn it and pass the subject the next session.All the students in the class came over to where I was standing to check my result and they were all congratulating me though jealousy was written all over the faces of some.A familiar girl was eyeing me and smiling after checking my result though I didn't see anything bad or sinful in it and then I smiled back,we were separated when her parents arrived at the scene and took her away.Before leaving,she made a sign that we will surely meet again and I nodded in approval.Tobi also had A's in his subject but not all,luckily he didn't fail any.Tobi and I spent the rest of the day visiting one classmate after another.I didn't see Tennie throughout the day and I wondered where she can be;"probably looking for me right now" I reasoned in my mind though I wasn't quite sure cos I didn't want to ask Tobi of her whereabout.She later showed up at Tobi's house late in the evening.We were through with the visitation when she arrived so we have all the time to discuss about the upcoming session and also about her result cos I havent seen her result since we didn't see after the distribution of the results.She passed her subjects though not as well as Tobi,but she improved on the last result anyway. "the result is fair,keep it up" I told her after examining the result "have you showed your mum?" I asked her "yes,and she was excited.she even told me that she will get me a new school uniform,sandals and bag for next session" she said happily "what a world!!my dad was furious cos I got 'C' in French and here Tennie's mum is promising her all the gifts because she did fairly well,not even up to the quarter of my brilliance" I said to myself.We played and played and later went our different way when night was creeping in. We went for the holiday which was a long one since it was the last term of the session.Tennie and I do meet each other at Tobi's house and this made us really happy though I still have it in mind what Tobi said the other day...."the sweetness of a relationship" kept repeating itself everytime I was in the midst of Tobi and Tennie.The holiday was uneventful,and resumption date was fast approaching. *********************** We resumed for JSS2 and it was time to allocate classes for the students once again,and as hoped,the three of us were in the same class.We started the session though the weeks was slow at first but it went by quickly after our mid-term holiday.Sooner rather than later our first term exam was fast approaching. I was seated in the class with Tennie after school one day. I was teaching her mathematics that day and she was quite attentive. "I want to ease myself" she said after endless calculation "okay,but return quickly cos its already getting late" I told her "won't you follow me?I can't go there alone you know its dark" she said pleading with her eyes,wow!she looked so beautiful "okay" I accepted and she took my hand in hers as we both headed to the school toilet.... Episode 20 The walk to the school toilet was a silent one.We got there after some minutes of walking and she entered while I waited for her some foot away from the stinking place. "this is why I don't like using the school toilet,so irritating.no wonder its called the school toilet,and no one is ready to clean the mess" I said to no one in particular and spat. "Is the toilet in your house not worse?" a familiar voice asked from the toilet,and since we were two in number I knew it was Tennie "Have you been to my house once?mtcheew" I answered her and hissed.Its like she knew her question provoked me cos she didn't make any sound after that. After what looked like an eternity,she came out of the toilet and we both headed to the class to pick our bags.As suggested by Tennie,she didn't want people to see both of us together at that odd hour and so we exited the school compound through a bushy path to avoid rumours and the 'eagle eyes' of gossiping students.The walk was a long one cos we were chatting on different issues.Our main discussion focus was our life after secondary school which drew interest from both of us.Although we both have no particular school in mind but our career targets also differ.I wanted to be an engineer while she insisted on studying medicine. "Medicine?the smell of drugs can make me collapse not to talk of working on human body,I don't like the profession a bit.The only thing I like about it is the recognition and the money they get but I don't think I can go for to study that kind of course." I explained to her when she asked why I so much hate medicine and this made her laugh heartily though I didn't know why and didn't bother asking.Since we weren't living in the same street,we went our different way and bid each other goodbye.I waved her off after the usual 'goodbye rites'.I got home and luckily my mum and sister wasn't at home which made me happy and surprised.I waited for them in the sitting room since the door wasn't locked so I assumed they weren't far away.I heard my sister voice from a distance and this made me run to my room to pretend that I was already asleep to avoid being scolded. "mummy,I'm tired.I can't find him.I've looked everywhere,even his friend said he haven't seen him after school today.He is not a kid,he will come home." I heard her explain to mum. Though I wasn't there but I know that my mum was very upset and afraid about my lateness. "how do I let her know I'm here?" I asked myself.A thought came to my mind that singing was the best way. "But which type of song do I sing?" I asked myself again and that was when someone image popped up in my mind......let me go for "the way you make me feel" by the king of pop.Though I didn't know how to sing the song but the chorus stored itself in my brain since the day my I heard the song.I stood up and started moving to the unheard sound of the beat from the song. "The way you make me feel You really turn me on You knock me off my feet the lonely days are gone" I was hung the song at first but out of knowledge I was singing loudly and this did the job I wanted it to do cos my mum showed up in my room some seconds after the commencement of the song. "Muyiwa,ibi lo wa(so,you were here)" She said expecting an answer though she didn't ask a question,did she? When she saw I didn't move nor speak,she came near to check if there was something wrong but when she saw I wasn't hurt she retreated "we've been looking for you" she said again "am sorry for coming home late mum" I apologised "where were you?" She asked "erm.....erm.....erm....erm...." I stammered not knowing what to tell her "come to the sitting room and take your food,you must be hungry by now.We will talk thereafter" she announced saving me from the shock "yes ma" I said and followed her to the sitting room I got there and ate my meal of eba and okro soup which was my second favourite.After finishing the third plate,I retired and washed off the remains from my hand and off I went to my room to sleep.My mum entered my room after some minutes but I pretend to have slept off and she went to her room. Episode 21 A feeling of guilt swept through me that very moment and I regretted putting the old women into the predicament she currently find herself but anyway the did has been done.I waved off the feeling when I saw it wasn't helping matter at all and decided to sleep maybe that can keep me calm and erase the current thoughts from my mind.It worked cos I was carried away by the 'second-in-command-to-death'.I later woke up after a terrible dream where I saw my twin brother got infected with a deadly STD.I checked the wall clock through the dim light and it read "02:41".I don't need a prophet to tell me it was still midnight.I was already sweating profusely when I finally sat down and was thinking about the meaning of the dream.I was scared,very scared about the weird dream.It was strange cos I don't dream often but anytime I do,the dream comes to reality and I just pray the jinx is broken this time around.I was so deep in thought that I didn't know when mum came into my room wearing a sad or should I say scary face.She was very surprised to see me awake by that time of the night since I was the type that love sleeping so much that I don't even know if am being beaten or slapped when sleeping. *********flashback********** It was a cold night and I was feeling dizzy even before dinner was served by my sister.I dashed to my room after eating the meal though I wasn't sure if I actually ate it.I was in a hurry that I ended up sleeping in the passage to my room.It was later revealed to me that I was being carried by my mum and sister that night when they found out I was sleeping there.I was ridiculed the following day that I wished I haven't done what I did.From that day I have been very careful as to whereand when I ought to sleep but that hasn't changed the fact that I was a tall version of 'JONAH' *******back to the present***** "oko mi,what's wrong?" mum asked sitting down on my bed. "nothing mum,just a dream" I answered her still backing her "dream?tell me about it,what did you see?who did you see?when did you....." she asked though I cut her short "mum,its late and just take the question one by one" I answered her a bit rude and I apologise immediately I noticed her change of mood. "its okay son,I understand but you have to tell me the dream" she said in almost a whisper "okay mum" I shrugged and narrated the dream to her "what's is STD mum?" I asked eagerly after the narration "the full meaning is Sexually Transmitted Disease.It is contacted during sexual intercourse when one or both of the people involved is carrying the disease.There are many disease that can be transmitted sexually and most of them are incurable but it can be prevented." she explained while I listened as if it was a life saving tutorial but isn't it?anyway only time will tell... "but what baffled me is that,I dreamt the same thing that's why I came in the first place and I didn't think it was serious until you told me you had the same dream,don't you think this calls for special attention?" She asked concern written all over her face that was when I concluded that my mum was,is and will be the best person I could ever have in this world. "I think so too and you know I don't dream often and when I do,it comes to pass and I don't want this to be like the former ones,how can it be prevented mum,I don't want to contact the disease" I said and a sob escaped my throat. "don't cry baby, its simple just don't have dirty plays with girls not even once cos once can kill a million time.Don't even try to use protector cos its not the safest way" she consoled and lectured me "what's the safest way mum?" I asked her further "the safest way is the simplest and hardest way" She said confusing me with the figure of speech "simplest and hardest?" I asked "yes,iit is the simplest cos it is very simple to do once you are determined to do it bit the hardest when your determination is not strong enough to withstand the temptations the girls of this age take along with themselves when passing by and only divine intervention can make a teenager not stable a thousand time.But you know what son?the Lord is with you always and will help you through,ijust be determined and most importantly don't go out with people who have contradicting view to what you just heard from me.They are wolves in sheep clothing.I hope you know what that means?" She asked and I nodded "yes,I know" I answered her stressing each word "and promise me you will heed to my advice" she said making me think thoroughly about it If I say yes that means I will remain a virgin till my wedding night which I don't even know when and if I say no she will be highly disappointed in me. "i will try my best mum,so help me God" I said though the answer wasn't what she hoped for but anyway its better than telling her 'no'. "amen" She muttered and smile. Episode 22 I woke up the following morning and slept again when I realised it was a Saturday.It was now becoming my habit of oversleeping every Saturday since there wasn't any allocated work or tasked given to me.My mum and sister are there to do everything even to the extent of washing my clothes.Although I do protest against it but mum always come up with the conclusion that I wasn't good at washing clothes.My daily chores was to go to school in the morning and come back home probably in the evening and then eat,play,eat,play,eat,play and then sleep. My eating appetite earned me the nick from my siblings "ounje o gbodo sofo" which means " food must not be wasted". Some people call it pampered but I call it motherly love. Although it affected me later but I enjoyed it to the fullest when I have the chance to.I woke up from my morning sleep around 12 when I saw someone beating me and calling my name,telling me to wake up.it appeared to be a dream but when the beating didn't stop,I blinked my eyes and behold it wasn't a dream.My sister was there waking me up from my sleep. "lataaro(since morning)" she exclaimed when she noticed my arrival from 'the second world" "en en,how does that affect you?" I asked rudely and this made my aggressive sister's bare palm land on my sleepy cheek. Kpoooaaa!!It sounded like a knockout but then I remembered it isn't December time. "yeee,oju mi oh(my eyes)" I cried heading for my mum's room "what happened?" mum asked when she saw me holding my cheek and crying. "aunty Bunmi beat me" I said and I waited for her reaction which I know wouldn't be friendly with my sister,but how wrong I was She started laughing at me which kind of provoked me and her action made me stop crying since I found out she wasn't money by my cry. "sit down" she said after some minutes "muyiwa,muyiwa,muyiwa" she called out and I know the next question so I answered her before she asked the question. "Three times ma" I said and she smiled again "my son,do you know you are no longer a kid?" she asked and I nodded, "good,in this life,to be a man you must start behaving like one right from your teenage days.You have to be strong willed and stop acting like a primary school pupil.You are growing older everyday,you ought to grow mentally also not just by increasing height and frame.You just have to possess the spirit of adulthood right from now." She explained further "starting from now" "okay mum,I'm sorry" I said "tell that to your sister" she said pointing to where my sister was standing,hands across her chest "I'm sorry" I said facing her though she didn't reply,she went out of the room and all I heard later was the sound of spoon crashing against plates.My stomach made some inaudible sounds and my mum giggled when she heard the noise my stomach was making. "go to the kitchen and take your food,remember act like am man" she said holding her ears when saying the last words I rushed to the kitchen to know the cause of the noise but I was stopped midway when I heard the aroma coming from the kitchen. I was eager to enter the kitchen but something stopped me or should I say someone,I looked back and saw my sister staring angrily at me. "You dare not" she said releasing my hand "why?" "ask me again" "why?" "ask me ten more times" "why?why?why?why?why?why?why?why?why?why?" I said counting in my mind though I didn't know whether it was up to ten or not,my mind was already in the kitchen devouring the food lying in wait. "ask me a hundred times" she demanded again. "mtcheew,I don't have your time" I hissed and left her presence though I didn't know what made me do this but I've done it anyway.I entered the kitchen and nothing stopped me this time.I served myself and started eating.I was eating the third full-plate of beans when my mum came in. She cleared her Throat and began "is that how to act like a man?" she asked after gaining my attention I kept quiet and resumed the battle with the opponent inside my plate,my strategy was all set to attack. "I asked you a question boy,answer me" she barked when she saw that I paid no attention to what she said earlier "erm....erm.....erm...." I stammered "I don't know since you didn't remember to tell me how a man behave,so I don't know if I should answer yes or no" I answered her honestly "Oh!I see.but the issue here isnt mine to explain,go meet your dad and he will explain everything to you but what you just did is so rude and you should go and beg your sister cos what you did provoked her" Mum said "okay mum" I shrugged and nodded in acceptance.I couldn't believe am apologizing for the second time today,to the same person,someone older than me. "I'm sorry" I said as I entered her room. "Its okay,am nt angry" she said and smiled. Who tell her say make she dey show her teeth?Ali she dey sell close up?mtcheew. I headed to my dad's part of the house and prayed that he was around and willing to answer my question. To be continued

Episode 23 For the first time in my entire life,I was nervous and also afraid to talk to my dad someone I was once free to discuss any issue with even to the point of telling him when I started growing hairs in my pelvis region. My prayers changed once and I hoped he wasn't at home.A part of me wanted to go back and tell my mum that he isn't around but another part of me protested against it.I walked slowly towards his room. I knocked immediately I got there but when I got no response after sometimes,I lost my patience and left his doorstep. "Mum,I didn't see him in his room" I announced as soon as I got to my mum's room. "I know he isn't around" she told me "but you said I should talk to him" She complained "I didn't know when I said you should talk to him today.If you are in a hurry,then talk to your brother" she suggested "I don't like talking to them" "why?" "nothing" "okay" she said though I know she has many questions on her mind after my sudden proclamation. I spent the rest of the day indoor thinking about what mum said some hours ago, "am I moving with the wrong guy?" I reasoned. though I don't keep many friends,the only guy I have is Tobi and then I felt something bad about him "he is the and guy who want nothing but my downfall" I concluded within me and that moment I decided to end our friendship. "But is he the only one responsible?isn't Tennie also a bad associate?" My thoughts ran to another part and I decided to also end our relationship or better called friendship.But on a second thought,I found out that she was innocent and also God fearing.She isn't in support of 'plays' before marriage and this was the first thing that made me like her and also the thing that made me hate her on another part."No,I can't do that to her,she is my rightful partner and I will hold on to her as long as I live" I concluded and slept off.I ended up having the same dream I had yesternight and that was when I realise that the it isn't a dream but a vision.I wanted to run off to mum but decided against it when I remembered what she said earlier "act like a man".I need to decide and decipher this on my own. I headed to the kitchen and was lucky not to encounter any hindrance.I ended up eating the remains of the beans inside the pot though I wasn't filled up yet but then,I want to act like a man so I didn't report it to mum as before,but instead opted to go back to sleep.I spent the entire day indoor since the only person that made me go out of our compound is Tobi and I wanted to end our friendship which I planned to tell him on Monday after school.Mum was very happy cos I didn't go out through out the day and she rewarded my 'kindness' with my favourite food (pounded yam and egusi soup).I appreciated it by finishing three plates and this surprised her since she personally opted to fill it to the fullest just to mock my eating ability but thank God, I ended up winning the 'challenge' To be continued.......

Episode 24 My mum,sister and I departed for church the next morning.I was overjoyed to see Tennie occupying the front row with her parents.Since the front row was also my mum's favourite sitting position, she settled down beside Tennie's parent and so did I and my sister.But fortunately I sat a few metereds from Tennie and this made me kind of annoyed since there wasn't any room for us to be sitted close to each other without our parents suspecting foul play and then,my mum's speech came ringing in my head. My dream also appeared before me that same moment and the I waved off the feeling instantly since I don't want the dressed sickness upon myself.Though we weren't close,the eye message did its own part and we communicated using this means.I didn't pay attention to the sermon preached by the pastor also the same with her. Church program ended as expected and mum dragged us out of the church though I didn't know why and I didn't fight against it,all I did was to follow her obediently.I can feel Tennie's beautiful innocent looking eyes on me but there was nothing I could do to make our discussion last longer. Mum drove us home, moving as fast as she can manage. "why is she in a hurry?" I asked my sister who was seated beside me "ask her yourself" she replied and hissed eyeing me angrily,and that moment I knew she was the cause of mum's change of attitude.We arrived home in less than five minutes and everyone of us headed to his/her room but mum stopped my sister and she forcefully dragged her (my sister) to her(mum's) room.Some minutes later, I heard some noises which I concluded were lashes of cane and wailing followed.Since we are the only one at home, no one is here to help and beg on her behalf. Its only her and her head. I smiled to myself.Although she is my sister,I hate some of her actions sometimes and this made me conclude that her sin was a great one since mum wasn't the kind of mother that maltreat her children. That was all I heard and it was the same all through the day,as usual. ***Three years later*** Its over three years now that Tobi and I ended our friendship,so it was only Tennie and I.We both use this to our advantage by creating a strong bond which I don't think can be broken by any earthly force even when a force of two million newton is applied.We both were in science class while Tobi was in commercial.We prepared for WAEC like it was our last exam.We read vigorously, and attended extra lessons after school.Since it was an external exam,I extra-prepared for it and by the start of it, I was quite sure that my result will be one of the best in the school. The exam came as expected and we both 'fought' the battle together using the 'all-attack' strategy as usual. It was a sunny afternoon and our final paper is schedule for 2:30PM that same day and this made us happy, very happy and fulfilled. Since the subject is Yoruba, our preparation was light and we got to the exam hall five minutes late.The supervisor didn't let us in at first but after much pleading he let us in and we collected the answer and question booklet.The examnation hall was noisy since it as the last paper and there was nothing the supervisor could do about it than uttering some inaudible words. We were the first to submit our papers and we both headed out of the exam hall jumping around the school compound. "Unbelievable!!!Bye Bye to Secondary school!!" we both sang happily ever after..... Episode 25 The day was an exciting one.We(all finalists) congratulated ourselves and then went out for a thanksgiving party organised by the school. The party was a full one since some invited schools were also present there. Tennie and I move around the party hand-in-hand to greet some of our mates from other schools. I noticed a familiar face in the crowd,my best friend some years ago.I was excited to see him there.I walked over to him dragging Tennie along.We got there and greeted him.She shook his hand while I hugged him.We gisted about many things.We were having so much fun that we didn't want an end to it.And then Tennie did what she thought was best for us and settled our dispute once again saying we were always best of friends even when we weren't talking to each other. We both accepted and we came together once again. The day ended and we all departed to our homes.I walked home alone though my thoughts were there with me. "have I done the right thing?" I asked myself.Since the deed has been done, no going back so I let my mind rest and I 'prayed for the best also preparing for the worst'. **some months later** Tobi,Tennie and I left the exam center exhausted.We've just finish writing our UTME exam.Since there was only a UTME center in our area,we were posted in the same place.The exam was difficult but were solved.We all went to our various houses and await our result. The result came,and there was a cry of joy. "wow!" I screamed with ecstasy. I felt someone tapping my shoulder and I turned to see a smiling Tennie.I hugged her tightly and was happy when she didn't offer any resistance.Tobi also joined us with his result.I scored 271, Tennie scored 249 and Tobi scored 252. Tobi's ambition was to become a banker so he chose to study banking and finance at the university of ILE-IFE(OAU). Tennie wanted to become a doctor so she went for medicine at the University of Lagos. Since my ambition is to become an engineer,I was advised by my brothers to go to the polythecnic so that I can be familiar with the practical aspect of the course. We obtained admission forms of the school we intended going and by HIS grace we all pass the PUTME exam. **some months later** We were all set for our tertiary institution. Since our date of resumption were different.Tobi was the first to depart. Tennie and I followed him to the park.His going was a painful one but nothing can be done to change it since we all want good things for ourselves. Some days later,Tennie also traveled to Lagos for her studies.I felt a salty liquid drop from my eyes immediately the bus she boarded moved out of the park. I walked slowly back home thinking about how much I'm going to miss her.I departed for school the following day.I wanted to go by public transport but mum didn't succumb to it saying she wanted to take me to school herself.And another reason was because she wanted to pick someone on the way. She said the person is from my school and she chose the same polythecnic I chose though her course was different.Mum didn't tell me her name and I didn't bother asking. We got to a junction and there stood a girl probably in her late teens.Her face was familiar but I couldn't remember where,and then I remembered mum's word"she is from your school". Wait,wait,wait her name...... Yes I got it "BECKY!!" I almost shouted... To be continued.....

Episode 26(final episode) Although I don't know her fully well but I can still remember her face. Her round face coupled wit the cute black lips of hers,everything about her seem fascinating and I would have..... No I wouldn't. The journey was a silent one,since mum wasn't the 'music-loving' type,all that was heard is the frequent noise made by cars going to and fro. She was driving at a relatively slow speed and she seems to enjoy it the pace. The silence was so frustrating that I just wanted to end it.I looked at mum but she was engrossed with the wheel. I turned to Becky and... "hi" I greeted "I thought you couldn't speak at first" she said "if I didn't want to talk can't you talk to me first then?" I asked her "I should have but as I said I thought you were dump" "dump?ridiculous" I said almost laughing "nothing is funny jare" she said keeping a straight face. "OH!isn't it?" I asked mimicking her tone "are you pulling my legs?" she asked again "huh,no" I answered "I just hope so but I don't believe you anyway" she said "You don't need to believe me" I told her "be a gentleguy,I thought I knew you but you proved me wrong" she said with hurt "what do you mean?and moreover how do you know me?" I queried "all I know is that you are the one that follows that stupid girl around and...." "she is not a stupid girl" I interrupted her "Oh sorry,did I just use that word?" "yes" "call me Tenniebenson" "but that's not your name" "what's my name then?" she asked me "If I know your name,I wouldn't have asked you" "and I told you my name is Tenniebenson" "and we both know that's a lie" I said almost immediately "If you say so" "don't blame me if I don't talk to you next time since you are not ready to tell me your name" I told her "huh huh?is it that serious?my name is ......just call me Becky" she said in almost a whisper "Becky,becky,becky" I repeated the name as if I haven't heard it before "yes Becky" "here we go at last,welcome to the new world you two" mum announced and we both stare into each other's eye "come down you two" she said opening the door that was when we realised that we are in our new 'villa'.The building is a bungalow with 12 rooms and mine is numbered no7.The compound is moderately clean but the hallway is littered with stoves and pots of other students living there.what I love most about the building is the different food aroma coming from different corners.wow!Its going to be fun!! Since mum claimed to have rented the room,I carried my loads to the said room with Becky rendering the help she can afford.After taking everything inside,we departed to her(Becky) villa which is just a 'stone throw' from mine. Her's is also a bungalow but with just eight rooms and its littered with different materials mainly clothing.The hallway is quite similar and students are seen going in and out of the other rooms.Some staring at their new neighbour and some were greeting us while some don't even seem to notice any 'development'.I helped her with her loads after making her promise to help me with the arrangement of my materials.After everything,mum departed after doing all she thought was the right thing.I settled down with Becky and we started relating like brother and sister.After we were through with arranging her stuffs she prepared rice so that we can eat before heading to my villa. "hmmm,delicious.But not like..." "like your mum's food" she interrupted and I nodded "omo mummy" She said and started laughing.I couldn't help laughing either though I felt hurt cos I hate people calling me 'omo mummy'. "oh sorry,I didn't mean it" she apologise as if she knew my mind. "its okay" I assured her and smiled and she returned the favour. What?!her beautiful set of teeth caught my attention and I couldn't help staring at it "stop staring at my lips like that,do you want a kiss?" she said bringing me back to life "huh huh,not like that.Just that I love....." "love my lips" she completed it for me though she got it wrong "erm....erm...erm" I stammered but couldn't find my voice and before I know what was happening her lips was already on mine. Oh am I dreaming?no I parted my lips and stared at her shocked.She didn't say anything,all she did was to pack the plates and dress up since she was wearing a tank top and 'bum shorts'.We headed to my place silently though many thoughts ran through my mind.
