He stood akimbo, wondering where the beast had gone. Just then the environment was filled with loud noise. A creature flew in the sky above his head. He couldn't see it properly 'cause the sun shone brightly. The creature landed before him. He'd intended running but didn't after realising it was Oneal who was flying. "you fly too? I didn't see the beast" "where is Kayden?" Oneal asked. Jay thought of lying, he knew Oneal would find out, there was no point. "he's at home." he replied. Oneal tapped Jayden on his shoulder. "you are brave son but you failed to remember dragons don't live in plains. Your brother was realistic, its hard to kill a dragon. But you were optimistic, he chose to give it a try. Sometimes its better being optimistic than realistic. This should be your first lesson. " Jay nodded with a smile. Oneal continued. "most people tend to see the worst in a situation. This doesn't help as it won't let them see the solutions. If you weren't so much concerned about the beast. You would have known its aboreal not terrestrial." "so where is the dragon?" Oneal smiled. "it was but a fabrication. Hope you learnt from this? " "surely i did" Jay replied. "the king died last night. He has no successor, the gods chose you and your brother to rule the kingdom. However, we can't have two kings, this test was conducted to choose the best man to be next king of Vinceville. " Oneal revealed. "what of Kay, what would happen to him?" "he would be a prince " Oneal replied. Few days later, Jayden was crowned king, that same day, he was given the king's only daughter as his wife. To keep the royal stream flowing. Its all about believe! Kay believed he couldn't fight a dragon, it was a fact but Jay looked beyond that. It doesn't matter the situation, what matters is your conviction.
