Episode Two I couldn't stop talking about her to my mum. ''You must really like this Kimberly girl a lot for you not to stop talking about her since you got home'' said my mum. My mum Ms Loretta is a middle-age single mother. I lost my dad when i was two and she has done everything to give me the best. She has really been a good mother and a father. She owns a boutique, one of the best in town. Mum i cant explain it, there is something special about her, i said. Its like we got a connection. Today is saturday, one of those days i go to the boutique to assist mum. I always enjoy myself whenever i went there because i have a good rapport with the girls that work with my mum and most of the customers that comes there. ''Hello, how much is my bill'' she asked as she placed the items she picked out on the counter. I thought the voice was familiar, what a pleasant surprise as i looked up to see the owner of the voice ''Hello, nice to see you again, i said, ''same here, Lucia right ? She asked. Yeah, how have you been ? I asked. I'm good and you ? She replied. ''Never been better'' i said. So what are you doing here ? She asked. ''My mum owns this place and i do come here once in a while to help out a bit. I replied. ''That's nice'' she said. ''The total is #31000'' i told her ''Alright'' she said as she reach for her purse to get the money. Lucia: Anything will do Kimberly: Just a second Few minutes later she came back with the balance and the drink. Kimberly: Here is the drink and the balance. I really do appreciate you coming home with me to get the balance. Lucia: Its nothing at all. So what do you do ? Kimberly: I assist my dad in his business currently, pending when i decide on what to do. What about you ? Lucia: I intended to go into event management but still thinking about it. Kimberly: That's a good one. I thought we both had a connection, now i understand why, we both are missing a parent. Having a friend like her who understand what it feel like not having one of your parent. I have found something special and rare with her and i intend to keep it.

***Episode Five*** Today is what i call a great day and what could be more greater than spending it with someone you know you can bare your soul to. I and Kimberly are out swimming, the is pretty favourable and having a swim will make it more comfortable. Lucia: Are you really sure you dont want to get in the pool ? Kimberly: Yes Lucia: Then why did you say you wanted to come to the pool ? Kimberly: Its really nice out here plus i get to watch you swim. Lucia: There is no way am getting into that pool without you. She could see the mischieve in my eyes. Kimberly: If you even think of getting me into that... Before she complete her statement, into the pool she went and i jump in too. Kimberly: My friend you are really something else, i cant believe you actually pushed me into the pool. Lucia: What's so hard for you to believe. I told you there was no way i was getting into this pool without you, so what did you expect ? Kimberly: Nice, trust me, i'm going to return favour. Lucia: Yeah right We both laughed. Kimberly: The water is so cool. Lucia: You should thank me for that. Kimberly: Thank you for what ? Lucia: I pushed you into the pool and now you are enjoying the water. Kimberly: Who told you am enjoying the water ? Lucia: I dont need someone to tell me that, its clearly obvious. Kimberly: No, i'm not. We really had a great time in the pool. What made it so great was that i didnt swine alone like i used to. It was fun.

Episode Six Lucia: I'm hungry after all that swimming, maybe we should get something to eat. Kimberly: I think i have a better idea, why dont we go over to my house and i'll will make lunch. Lucia: Fine by me, just hope you dont serve me concoction. Kimberly: I will pretend i didnt hear that Lucia: Ofcourse you did. When we got to her house, she immediately went into the kitchen to fix lunch. I sat in the living room entertaining myself with the television. Lucia: Do you want any help ? Kimberly: No thanks, i think i can manage. Some minute later, lurch is ready i heard her say. I walked into the dinning room, the aroma that greeted me was very pleasant. For a moment i just stood there. Kimberly: Dont just stand there, come lets eat except if you enjoy cold food. Lucia: No i don't. I took a seat opposite her and i did justice to the food in front of me. Lucia: Not bad, i'm sure mine would have tasted better Kimberly: I will take that as a compliment. Lucia: May be you should come to my house sometime, so you could taste my own cooking. Kimberly: You bet i will.

Episode seven and eight I decided to pay my friend and unexpected visit at her office. I approached the secretary desk. Secretary: Hello Lucia: Hi, i'm here to se miss Kimberly. Secretary: Is she expecting you ? Lucia: No she's not but i'm sure will be more than willing to see me. Secretary: But i need to inform her first. Who do i tell her wants to see her ? Lucia: Tell her Janet. She picked up her phone and dialled Kimberly's number. She talked into the phone after listening, she hung up. Secretary: You may go in. Lucia: Thank you. As i walked into the office, immediately she saw me, she rose from her seat and ran over and gave me what i will describe as the biggest hug i ever received. Kimberly: When my secretary told me that one Janet is here to see me, i had this sensation that it had to be you. Lucia: I thought i should pull a little stunt on you this afternoon. Kimberly: It worked and to what do i own this August visit Janet ? Lucia: Ooh! I was on my way to lunch and i thought i should drop by. Kimberly: Are you inviting me for lunch ? Lucia : I guess so expect that you are buying us lunch. Kimberly: No way! You own me one for pushing me into the pool. Lucia: Why dont you wait for your opportunity to push me into the pool but for now, you're buying us lunch. Kimberly: Listen to me young lady, if you're not buying me lunch, allow me to drown myself in my work and i'm really starving. So if i make a mistake while working its on you. Lucia: Okey fine! Episode Eleven Kimber dropped by my house on her way back from work. She looked very tired and stressed. I couldnt help b ut asked. Lucia: How was work today ? Episode Twelve The ringing of my phone woke me up from a sound sleep. When i picked up the phone, i didn't even looked the caller ID. I was half asleep. Lucia: Hello Caller: Hello. Chris: I'm sorry about that, i was about to go to bed and i thought i should give you a call. Lucia: At 1am ? Chris: I'm sorry, i was working late and i lost track of time. Lucia: Its okey, so why did you call me ? Chris: I was wondering, um... Could i take you to lunch ? Lucia: Sorry i'm preoccupied. Chris: What about dinner ? Lucia: Sorry i cant. Chris: Ooh ooh! Episode Thirteen The last few days hasnt been easy, staying home alone without mum couldn't have been harder. What a relief! She is back and this news i have to give to Kimberly in person and a couple of other things. I decided to go and see her at her home since its already evening. When i got to her house, i cant help but admire the beautiful structure and the serene environment. The house seems to be getting more beautiful by the day. Wow! What a view. I rang the doorbell and she opened the door. She wasnt look herself, that i could tell. Something was wrong with her, i could feel that too. Lucia: Hi Kimberly: Hi. What a pleasant surprise, nice to see you. How long has it been 2 or 3 months ? Lucia: A decade. We both laughed as we walk into the living room. Kimberly: Would you like a drink ? Episode Fourteen I and mum sat in the living room, she was looking at new fashion trends in a magazine and i was watcìng the television. Then i suddenly remembered i havent told her about Kimberly visting us. Lucia: Mum, Kimber will be visiting later today. So she can finally meet you. Mum: Kimberly, the girl from the bookstore ? Lucia: Yes, when i told her you were back and i wanted her to meet you, she was so excited. Mum: Really! I cant wait to finally meet this girl that has been giving you all this mood swings. Lucia: She is very exceptional and i am sure you are going to like her. I have a feeling you are going to like her. It felt like forever before evening, i was so excited. I cant wait for the two most important persons in my life to set their eyes on each other. I was overjoyed when i heard the doorbell, i knew it was Kimberly. When i opened the door,there she was with her elegant smile as always. Kimberly: Hi there. Lucia: Hi, how was your day at work. Kimberly: Interesting. How are you ? Lucia: Never been better. Kimberly: My dad, he is fine, he is on a business trip Mum: How about your mum ? Kimberly: Never knew her, she died at childbirth. Mum: Oh! I'm so sorry, i didnt... Before my mum could finish her statement, Kimberly cut in. Kimberly: Its okay ma, i do miss her, but i got my dad, he's all i've got. Mum: I understand. Kimberly: Ma, the food is so delicious, thank you very much. Mum: You're welcome my dear. Kimberly: I'm pretty sure Lucia's cooking is not this good. Mum: Atleast she can boil water. Mum i screamed. We all laughed and then my mum said Mum: I was just kiddin. After eathng, Kimberly and i cleared the table and went to the kitchen to do the dishes.

Episode Fifteen After doin the dishes, we went up to my room, i brought out all the things my mum got for me for her to see. Kimberly: Wot! There are all beautiful, your mum really have good taste. Lucia: Yes, she does, she knows exactly what i would like. Kimberly: Nice, very nice. They are all exquisite,look at this dress, its superb. Lucia: You like it ? Kimberly: Ofcourse i do. Episode Eighteen. Today is D-day, my birthday. There is something special about this particular day. Over the years, i have always celebrated my birthday with just my mum but this year, i got another gift from apart from adding another year to my age, Kimberly. Episode Twenty-One My mum just called to inform me that she wont be able to come back to the boutique, that i will need to find my way back home. I had not brought my car sine we rode together this morning in her own car. I was expecting she will come back to pick me up but somehow things didnt work out the way bcause what she needed to do took longer than expected. What do i do now ? I hate taking public transport. I decided to call Kimberly. I dialled her number and she answered at the third ring. Kimberly: Hey babe. Lucia: Hey. Please could you drop by the boutique to give me a ride home ? Kimberly: What happened to your caq ? Lucia: Its a long story. Kimberly: All right, i'm almost through with work. I'll be there. Lucia: I will be waiting. About thirty minutes later, she called and said she was close. So i came out to the car part to wait for her. Mum: How is she ? Doctor: She is going to be fine. She has shortage of blood that's why she lost consciousness. She nees blood transfusion and fast. Mum: So what are you waiting for, do it. Doctor: There is a little problem. We dont have blood bank, so you need to get it elsewhat. Mum: What! Kimberly: I can give her blood, i'm a universal donor. Mum: No, you're tensed right now, it wasnt be suitable. Kimberly: You heard what the doctor said, she needs the transfusion and fast. I'll do it. Doctor: We will need to rum a couple of test and screen your blood to make sure its fit for transfusion. Kimberly: Go on with it. Doctor: Very well then, lets go. Chris: I'll come with you.
