– Wizkid is the first Nigerian artist to be
on Billboard charts
– His latest collaboration on Drake’s
One Dance has increase his
international rating
– Wizkid features Drake in Ojuelegba
remix in 2015 Wizkid,
Drake and Kylah collaborate on the
song One Dance While Nigerians are busy criticizing Wizkid’s
contribution in Drake’s One dance as barely
noticeable, light continue to shine on the Nigerian pop
singer’s international presence. Wizkid has become the first Nigerian artist to
emerge on Billboard’s Twitter Last 24 hours
chart courtesy of his feature in Drake’s One
dance song. Drake on Tuesday, April 5 dropped two
singles, Pop style featuring Kanye West and
Jay Z, and One dance featuring Wizkid and
Kyla. Nigerians on Twitter had call out the Ojuelegba
singer for what they perceive as a very
minimal appearance in the One Dance with
some even comparing this with Dbanj’s trivial
contribution in Kanye West’s Mercy video in
2012.

Wizkid the Baba Nla Won had featured Drake in a remix to his Ojuelegba single in July 2015 and that got a wild accolade. That of course was the beginning of a relationship with the American pop singer and also led to his being featured on Drake’s One Dance which is a single from Drake’s forthcoming album. Drake’s full album titled Views From The 6 is billed to drop in April 2016. Wizkid had met Drake through a friend of his Skepta who introduced Ojuelegba to Drake during a Wireless Music Festival held in London in 2015.
