[b]There are some professions that are dominated by men; the women found in this field are few. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication for the women who find themselves in those fields to stand. They only get recognised after they must have invested in the job.[/b]
[b]Nina Taylor is a firefighter who stumbled on the profession in the newspaper. She and her son had formed the habit of reading papers together when they saw something about being a firefighter on a page.
Her son was excited with the idea of her being a firefighter and that was how the struggle began. That was fourteen years ago; she had started a staffing agency earlier even though she ventured into modeling in New York.[/b]

[b]Taylor’s life is just a bit of everything as she does not like limiting herself to a particular section. Despite her background and life history, being a firefighter was the next step she wanted to take. She was unfulfilled with the things she was doing then and wanted more out of life.
Her plan to be a firefighter fell into place when she witnessed an accident on her way home after she applied. Taylor and Steve, her son, had to park in order to see what could be done with the car wreck. She locked the young boy in the car and moved towards the affected family.
A little girl who had been in the car was missing and everyone was searching for her. Taylor heard the sirens of the firefighters as they searched for the little girl. She laid on the ground near the destroyed car and saw the poor little girl. She was alive even though her condition was bad.[/b]

[b]She held the little girl’s hand to comfort her; Taylor told her how beautiful she was. She also aid she was not going to leave her until help came for her. The child died not long after then. The family members asked if Taylor was a firefighter off duty and that was when it occurred to her that that might actually be her calling.
After that incident, she was more than determined to give it a trial. She started training to be a firefighter. She kept this to herself for fear of being criticised and discouraged; she enrolled in school and started brazing herself for it. She started working at station 24 in Bellview Heights in 2003.
It is amazing to know that she is back at that station after 13 years of being moved around. Her son bought her a wonder woman shirt which she wears under her uniform because it is still pretty much a miracle that she has survived in a male dominated environment.
Nina Taylor is not only known as a firefighter, she is into photography as she owns a photography studio. That is her way of showing people how beautiful they are. When she is not working as a firefighter, she is working as a photographer who also doubles as a caterer. She bakes and give them out when she is not booked for an event.
She loves what she does now as she has found fulfillment doing those things. Her patients and victims appreciate the help she is offering them and that alone is inspiring.
